Long day at work.

Then dinner… and AGAIN fell asleep early. I am not liking this pattern at all. Fell asleep on couch around 8. Then up again at 10. Trying to stay up till the end of this football game.

Been waking up again at early hours of the morning (1230 last nite and 330 the nite before). Have to get back into a healthy sleep routine.

Looking forward to a long weekend. Seeing an old army buddy tomorrow nite, then Pittsburgh for a long weekend, visiting friends. Then back home on Monday afternoon.

Hopefully get my sleep back on track.

Dog wanted out this morning. Opened the door, and she just stared from four feet away. It was a big nope! Tried to send her out, she did a complete 180 maneuver at the threshold and ran back to her bed.

I don't know how much is out there, but it's a lot.

Anyway, another snow day for the kids. Lucky little buggers, we never had them when I was little!

Surprised you didn’t get snow days as a kid. Especially in the UP. Surprising.

Snow days were the best when we were kids. Listening to WOR radio for whether school was open, closed or a delayed opening.

I was on a call today with some folks in London and it was dreary and rainy.

Here in the northeast, it’s been cold and very windy. Lake effect snow has been bad (ask @dkak001). Here we don’t get lake effect snow, but we did get quite an intense snow squall this morning at work.

Now it’s just clear, cold but quite windy.

Rooting for the tree, but not at the risk of the house. Glad you've got some connections to help you figure it all out. Proactive is better than reactive IMO

I had a guy out to look at it today. He said he can cut it below the break and preserve the bottom half. We have hedged the branches which I quite like. If the whole tree has to go, there will be a hole in the hedge. I would be able to see into my neighbor's back yard and vice versa.

The guy today quoted me 3K to take it down.

Our compost heap would be 10 feet high and 75 feet long! As it is, just pushing them back in the woods makes a 250 foot long pile 3 feet high. Be selling compost just to make room for the next falls leaves! Leaf blower is the right tool for the job in some places...

Well, then. When you put it that way... I'll give you dispensation for your leaf blower!
