I'm very similar. I have a low tolerance for pain but also a low threshold for pain meds. I can usually get away with using tylenol.

Do you have Barretts? Soda can really irritate that.

Egd didn't show it. I can handle pain...but when regular methods don't help it it drives me mad. And this is something else..... I can usually control with tums Tylenol omeprazole and a swig of milk..... this was unrelenting. Next time only taking half a tab

I’m up way too early as got a call from my son at 2 am. It was about his mom, my X, who had a dementia episode. She called him wanting him to get her and take her home. She is in an assisted living facility. As he has autism, he was having difficulty handling this. And he called his reliable old dad.

I called him down. But I could not get back to sleep. I know I have to live a long life as my adult kids especially my son needs me. It’s a challenge but I accept it.

Sending to whoever needs it and knowing we have each other’s back here no matter what challenges you are facing.

You are a good dad and grandpa...here is a big hug sent your way.......huuuuuuggggg

Well lunch with Santa at the village then village Christmas party. Wedding tomorrow. Work event and lions club monday...... makes me tired thinking of it.......

Please remember, a PA is not a medical doctor. They are very good for routine stuff but for anything serious, you need an actual MD or DO.

The ECG will only show the electrical activity in the heart. It does not show structural issues. Did the PA refer you to a cardiologist? S/he should have!

Well…he mentioned I needed to go see the cardiologist but didn’t give a referral. He punted that to my GP…which put me on waivers about 3 yrs ago (I see an AME twice a year, so I’m getting checked out) so I drove straight to the place where I’ve done two routine stress tests and a nuke test. They have all my records…but wouldn’t make an appointment until I get a referral from a GP…is this all a racket?

Anyhow, I called one of the local health groups, got another appointment with a PA, who’s going to get me set up with a Cardio Doc, and I took on one of their GP’s for anything else like this. As if this wasn’t enough red tape, I now have to deal with my company medical rabbit holes…and the feds….

Anyhoo…much love to you, MissK, R2 and others who lit a fire under me to run this down. .

The inside of your body is like a very tightly packed suitcase. Especially in the chest area as there's no place for expansion. When anything is out of place, it puts pressure on the other things.

The bulging of an aneurysm can put pressure on the spinal nerves, causing pain. The thoracic aorta runs right in front of the spinal column.

If you have to wait that long, PLEASE make sure your blood pressure is in the normal to low range.

Had BP checked in Sept…it was not ideal but nothing they seemed concerned about? I’m getting a check on Monday…taking it slow over the next couple days.

I took a concealed carry class and I am very careful. The guy next to me was so scary. He was firing like he was in a gang or a rap video....he did not return for second half of class.... I was scared shooting next to him..... shooting with the gun horizontal. Pointing it everywhere but in front of him. At one point he shoved it down the back of his pants..... we were in pairs with a trainer to supervise. Our trainer said to me. "Just keep shooting" and he was on that guy.... to the tune of wtf are you doing?

People like that… shakes head…

Not that I want to see anyone get hurt, but I don’t have much sympathy for them if/when they do.

But it doesn’t just create an unsafe condition for them - it is probably more unsafer* for people around them.

I have/had a 30mm round I gave to my uncle. I had a 20mm round I gave to my dad. I haven’t seen it in years. I need to find it because that’s and electrically fired round. Every thunderstorm I’m holding my breath!

I gave up coffee or any caffeine for that matter when the doctor said it would help lower my Bp so I could skip the meds. It gave me pretty serious headaches and I had to ween myself for a few days. But was easily done.
I still drink wine. Not sure I can or am willing to stop. It’s a food group.

Afternoon all...
Surprise party is off for the out of towners at least.
Freezing sleet, slush, snow, slick roads and worse on bridges and intersections/ramps, plus already starting to get dark.

Just got caught up on the thread before working on a few more things around here...

I was going to attend a club meeting this morning but fell asleep.

I possess something I call cop-dar. I almost always know when there's a cop in my vicinity. IDK how, but I do. Yesterday, when I was driving to my dr appointment, I was driving in the HOV lane with my pass. (Here, one can pay a bit to drive in the HOV lanes on some of the freeways.) I has been driving just a bit (or more) over the speed limit when I unconsciously backed off on my speed. I saw a vehicle far behind me in the same lane. As it got closer, I moved out of the lane so the vehicle could pass me. Sure enough, it was WSP!

Now that's a Superpower to have!!

Continuity of Care is a part of health care IMO
on finding one and that they stick around a while
I've had similar issues since one of my doctors retired. Just when I found a 5-star replacement they moved her to a different clinic.
None of my top-shelf doctors have any availability anymore. It takes months to get an appointment with them.

don't get me started... but my perspective is:
learn the rules to play their game
b/c their end game is to spend as little as possible
regardless of patient outcome
