The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

Good morning early risers, good day to those in Europe or to those with insomnia. It’s 10 F today and no wind thankfully. No taxiing just taking the dog to get groomed ( has poodle curls so needs it) and ultimately I get a haircut too. I’m also watching my granddaughter today as well.

It’s a good day to be inside.
Did you have a good day, B2? 🤗✨💝

Well, I was going to jump on this thread last night, but I pulled my old trick and fell asleep on the couch.

I hate that that makes me so mad. Fucks up my sleep and just doesn’t make me feel accomplished.

Still feeling the effects of the time change in the early nights. I don’t mind Christmas, but fuck this time of year.

I saw that even @Mrswonderer got online while I was snoozing.
You must have needed the sleep! I fell asleep posting last night too.

OH WOW!😮 The PA didn’t seem too concerned but was concerned enough to recommend it. I’m guessing my regular EKG wouldn’t see this? Probably have to do the ultrasound (PA did mention something like that) or something. I better start slowing down a bit? Ugh…I read this and told She who must be obeyed to call my mothers heart doc…maybe just end around this whole referral BS…

Thank Lilli. It’s scary but I knew you and MissK would get to the bottom of it! Now some MZ…to get my mind off the bad stuff….

Please remember, a PA is not a medical doctor. They are very good for routine stuff but for anything serious, you need an actual MD or DO.

The ECG will only show the electrical activity in the heart. It does not show structural issues. Did the PA refer you to a cardiologist? S/he should have! 🫂🫂🫂

Yes same here my trainer is young 40s I'm high 60s. My arms are recovering from the training on Wed morning wow.
I'm definitely gaining because I'm definitely in pain lol. But Lili thank is one of the few things that improves the quality of life.
At least I know it's working for me. My range of motion is better that it was 20 years ago. My strength is improving. My balance is great.... So I whole heatedly say go go go Liliana.
I (usually) do feel better when I see her! She knows I will at least try everything she asks me to do. There's whining. Always LOTS of whining! But! I'm healthier, have better balance, and strength.

One more question @Missk_2022 & @Lilianna23 ….

Why does this aneurysm thing cause back pain? Inquiring minds want to know😊

Thanks again to both of you…I was on the verge of blowing this off, but made the appropriate calls this morning…now just waiting to hear back. It’s looking like I may not be able to get in until mid to late Jan😮
The inside of your body is like a very tightly packed suitcase. Especially in the chest area as there's no place for expansion. When anything is out of place, it puts pressure on the other things.

The bulging of an aneurysm can put pressure on the spinal nerves, causing pain. The thoracic aorta runs right in front of the spinal column.

If you have to wait that long, PLEASE make sure your blood pressure is in the normal to low range. 🫂🫂

You are way smarter than me and prob a better educator.... that is why I want you to be in charge of nursing advice....
Silly girl! I'm not smarter than you. I might (probably) have different experiences than you do. I love that we are a team, along with our resident researcher, @likes2watchU! Together, we are greater than the sum! 🤗✨💝

Not sure.... it was awful..... unrelenting and I couldn't make it stop.....
I have been drinking a lot of pop and eating a little too christmas-y......so back on the plan and only water now

My test said I had redness and some inflammation where my esophagus goes in to the stomach.... maybe I re irritated it?

I had surgery and took tylenol.. for me to take a pain pill it is bad...
I'm very similar. I have a low tolerance for pain but also a low threshold for pain meds. I can usually get away with using tylenol.

Do you have Barretts? Soda can really irritate that. 🫂🫂🫂

Always get the worst thing crossed off the list... then go from there..... that is what we did in the er.... make sure you don't have the thing that will kill you and discharge to your doc to figure out what is making you miserable or to fix the non life threatening thing we figured out while doing tests for the super serious thing..........
Exactly! Do what K says @HumpDayHoratio!

Finally. All caught up. wait...
*refresh*
Yep, caught up at least for the moment.

Speaking of catching up...

I do envy people who are lucky enough not to have to play the chronic disease game solo. That's its own little drama llama IMO

That was my initial reaction too. But I've never worked for either the federal government or the military so also falls into "I don't know what I don't know"

When I had my GI issues, I read that the carbonation can be problematic. It can slow down digestion, I believe? Well I don't drink pop, I do enjoy unflavored carbonated water. Sometimes the bubbles feel good and sometimes they don't. But might be worth it looking into. I remember as a child getting some flat soda sometimes for a stomach ache. Can't remember if it was cola, clear, or Ginger ale. But it was almost always flat.

Was it the actor John Ritter who had an aortic aneurysm? Very scary! So glad you're following up and looking into this. Hopefully they do some sort of a cancellation list where they can call you if somebody cancels their appointment before you're scheduled to go in. 🫂

🫂 ❤️ holidays can be rough. Thinking of you and everyone else who is missing someone at this time of year.

Yes, the one I posted offers heat therapy only. I'm glad you found one that swings both ways. :ROFLMAO:

I would love a good therapeutic massage! I am simply too ticklish. I have had more than one professional therapist extend my appointment time, and ultimately return my money saying they put more knots in than they removed.

If it gets you in sooner? 100% approve of that plan

Just until spring? Then back to Watertown again

That sounds like a very apt description. Thank you for keeping them over there by you.

Agreed. I learned about stone weight the year I studied in Scotland. The only scale in the place where we stayed measured in stones.

Nice! And lovely of him for trying to pay for the goods he received. Not everyone would follow up like that.

Excellent. My work here is done.
Just kidding but do love that you're looking stuff up. I always love when people reach for a reference source. :geek: 📖

Personal PSA:
I'll be away most of this weekend. Out of town surprise party for my SIL's bday. Roads and weather will determine if I drive to/from Saturday or stay over until Sunday.
I love these recaps, Likes! Yes, John Ritter died of an aortic dissection (rupture). RIP 🙏

Be careful driving! 🤗🤗

If cats get the zoomies.... do they get speeding tickets?
I possess something I call cop-dar. I almost always know when there's a cop in my vicinity. IDK how, but I do. Yesterday, when I was driving to my dr appointment, I was driving in the HOV lane with my pass. (Here, one can pay a bit to drive in the HOV lanes on some of the freeways.) I has been driving just a bit (or more) over the speed limit when I unconsciously backed off on my speed. I saw a vehicle far behind me in the same lane. As it got closer, I moved out of the lane so the vehicle could pass me. Sure enough, it was WSP! 🤯

OK…this is weird.

According to my mother. We’re related to the Ritter’s!😮. Tex Ritter was my maternal grandmothers first cousin…talk abut some family history…I had forgotten that’s what John died of🥺

The good news is I’m all signed up and get my test on Monday morning. Gonna take it real easy through this weekend! 😂
EXCELLENT! I'm so glad you got an expedited appointment! 🫂🫂
