The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

Well…he mentioned I needed to go see the cardiologist but didn’t give a referral. He punted that to my GP…which put me on waivers about 3 yrs ago (I see an AME twice a year, so I’m getting checked out) so I drove straight to the place where I’ve done two routine stress tests and a nuke test. They have all my records…but wouldn’t make an appointment until I get a referral from a GP😡…is this all a racket?

Anyhow, I called one of the local health groups, got another appointment with a PA, who’s going to get me set up with a Cardio Doc, and I took on one of their GP’s for anything else like this. As if this wasn’t enough red tape, I now have to deal with my company medical rabbit holes…and the feds…🙄.

Anyhoo…much love to you, MissK, R2 and others who lit a fire under me to run this down. 😍.
That sounds like too much unnecessary bullshit! You shouldn't have to go through all that to get a potentially life-threatening thing checked out!

What does waivers mean? And why did your GP do this?

Sounds like a busy day, K! Was it fun?

I had a busy day. The tree guys came to take down my broken tree. I now have a nice stack of aromatic wood underneath my deck!

I lost my mailbox key somewhere in my house (I think) a couple of weeks ago. 😖😤🤬 So today, I broke the lock on my mailbox. It was surprisingly easy to do. I attended a short class at YouTube U to learn how. My neighbor got the lock out of the door. I went to Lowe's to get a replacement lock. Nice neighbor will replace tomorrow.

My friend, nice neighbor's fiance, wasn't feeling well from a sinus infection. So I made a house call, brought her an eye mask that can be heated or cooled, and told her I'll see her in the morning.

I decided I wanted a burger but not fast food, so I'm currently sitting at the bar in my local Red Robin.
That sounds like a lovely day - well, except for the sinus infection. Hope your neighbor's fiancé feels better soon! Sinus infections are zero fun!!

Ok. I know it doesn’t follow the traditional 12 days, but the way I see it now and as a kid, it was the countdown to the big day the fat man came a call’n…

Besides, nobody really wants to hear any more Christmas music and movies after the 25th anyhow…

So in that spirit…the countdown begins!

One the First Day of Christmas, my True Love sent to me…

*I did read that if you totaled up all the “gifts” in todays money of the things in the poem and song it’d be just shy of $50k😮

Afternoon all...
Surprise party is off for the out of towners at least.
Freezing sleet, slush, snow, slick roads and worse on bridges and intersections/ramps, plus already starting to get dark.
I'm glad your party was postponed, Likes. Not that I didn't want you to party. I was concerned about you driving in freezing rain, sleep, snow, etc. 🫂🫂
Continuity of Care is a part of health care IMO
🍀 on finding one and that they stick around a while
I've had similar issues since one of my doctors retired. Just when I found a 5-star replacement they moved her to a different clinic.
None of my top-shelf doctors have any availability anymore. It takes months to get an appointment with them. ☹️
We had a doctor we saw for a couple of years at the geezer clinic we go to. She was great! I always tell new doctors I expect them to be my partner in care. She was truly a partner. When my husband had to go on insulin, she wrote the order but basically told me to do what I do. It worked well for him.
don't get me started... but my perspective is:
learn the rules to play their game
b/c their end game is to spend as little as possible
regardless of patient outcome
Both time and money. The PA should not have turfed the referral off. 🤬🤬

WTH?!??? That really sucks, Noor! 😤🤬🤬

Yep, first ore’s practice fell apart towards the end of the pandemic, second one is super booked up and will see me endures ( he’s contracted to see patients from one of my other clinics) and then one seems ok and taking new patients.
I also don’t have any heart problems beyond reactions that put fluid around my heart twice, liver once. So far no long term damage. So I am not the average patient and often considered too complex and complicated.
Im hoping to go into remission again.

Yeah. She didn't look like she was having any fun. Neighbor told me he wanted her to be seen today but she was being stubborn. I told him I would see her. She was no match for me!

She has an appointment tomorrow. I told her I would see her in the morning and let her know if I thought she would benefit from being seen.
