Weird…I just heard the story of how Take it Easy was written today…New job. Know the work. Too much time spent outside and/or in poorly or unheated spaces. What have I done?

Jackson Browne drove out of LA through Joshua Tree and his Willy’s Jeep broke down. He gets it running and it craps out inWinslow. He spends three days there getting it fixed then heads up through the four corners into Utah. Where it breaks down again. He hitchhikes with some strangers back to LA where he puts the song (he’s been writing about his experiences on this trip) on ice. His neighbor, Glen Frey, helps him fill in some lyrics and Jackson lets him record the song. It was the Eagles first hit and put them on the map!
Right at the holiday? HmmmmMy boss called me today and gave me a project....
In the UK the vast majority of public holidays take place on the Monday following the event being celebrated. In France, however, they take place on the actual date of the event, even if that is Sunday and almost everyone is on holiday anyway. Thursday is a favourite with many here. They then "faire le pont" (make the bridge) by taking the Friday as holiday and getting a 5 day break for one day's annual leave.Wednesday is a pain day for a holiday.
I used to do that, too, when I had accumulated PTO.
Sleep well.Night all ....
