I like them but have often wondered about them so I just this morning looked them up. I will keep what I have and use them. I have worked in clean rooms and the motto there was, don't get anything dirty and Clean In Place.

We've got a bunch of oldies there that we've driven at one time or another.... all are due for a restoration, but are really good, sound makings...
...a 57 Belaire 2 door hardtop, 57 Two Ten 2 door hardtop, a 63 Chevy wagon that's a cool old car, a 63 Buick Riviera, two 1950 Chevy Suburbans... and some "parts cars."
The two hardtops and one of the Suburbans weren't drivers...
We also have a 57 four door post that mom used to drive. That's what I took my driving test in.

Too little space is hard, but too much can be a problem too. Built this place with maybe much storage. It's far too easy to shove things in the pantry, closet, drawer, or cabinet... Then organizing them becomes an absolute nightmare after it's been collecting for years!
I go through cleaning fits once in a while. A lot of useless "Why am I saving this?" stuff gets biffed.

The biggest problem is I have a lot of "Good" stuff too. Things that I find value in or have a future use for. I have a long list of projects and am always on the lookout for items for those projects. When a good deal comes by it gets snagged but it adds to the collection. A friend of my succinctly and correctly spelled out the problem "It's hard to do things with out stuff and space". She is 100% correct and if your personality likes to make/build/fix things you need stuff to do it.

The last major hurdle was cleaning up left over lumber from the building projects. A lot of useful stuff saved for years, and now that the major stuff is done it's time to thin down the collection. First world problems, I guess...

First world problems for sure.

But good ones to have.

This is a relay enjoyable thread and I’ve developed a kinship for each and every one of you.

Agree... so many have commented to me about the community here on the café thread. It is definitely a special oasis in a sea of Lit threads.

My son in law, former Marine, and medic, once told me to keep my torso warm and the rest will follow. So I wear vests. I will wear gloves and hats but focus on my torso.

Makes sense. Reputable source.
I still need my hand warmers, hat, and sometimes a scarf... but that's due more to a whacked out immune system that sometimes makes it difficult for my body to self-regulate temperature. Cold in winter and overheat too easily in summer.

I had a weird dream last night.

For some inexplicable reason, had just gone back into the reserves. My wife was livid.

It was time for my first weekend drill and I got sick with covid. I didn’t even know who the first sergeant was to call them and let them know I was sick.

Then I was on active duty at some military post id never been. Law and order had broken down and even the MPs were getting shot at. There were gunfights all over the post - total anarchy.

My wife and I had to get rid of trash and an old wheelbarrow. We finally found a dumpster in an area that wasn’t too chaotic, and when we started throwing away stuff there was another couple doing the exact same thing.

Then i was trying to help someone get to Texas. I told them to go on rt 31north and then get on rt 78 west from there.

Is your body trying to tell you that you went back to work and being busy too soon and you need more rest for your own recovery???

The last major hurdle was cleaning up left over lumber from the building projects. A lot of useful stuff saved for years, and now that the major stuff is done it's time to thin down the collection.

Is there a charity or Habitat for Housing where you can donate? I hate having to get rid of something "useful". (Grandfather grew up in the Great Depression. I learned a little too well at his knee growing up myself. )

I like the underdogs or teams not expected to win. I will always root against the big programs, although I do like Oregon.

Nothing wrong with dipped headlights. It makes it easier for others to concentrate. High beams are great and make you feel more confident but they are hugely distracting for everyone else. On the other hand, I've always loved being distracted!

As a retired (mostly) person, I find there are always, ALWAYS things I could be doing. I un-retire for things I really want to do. Some of them even pay a bit of money. Others are "pay it forward" for some of the many random acts of kindness and service I enjoyed when I was a youth. A few are "things I enjoy that help people." And a few are random naughtiness I enjoy.

and for what it is worth, cold feet MAY be a symptom of circulation issues ... have you mentioned it to a medical pro?

I just start feeling cluttered and what is the point of it. So I do a hard purge..... do I love it? have I worn it I a year? Does it fit? Did I forget I had it?

I have some painting projects I want to do too.... I just need to start fresh.

My was built in 1950. So many of the closets are not very functional. And less so as my late wife crammed so much into them. I found like 8 blankets, 10 bed sheet sets etc. I’m now getting ready to donate or take them to the the recycling.

I miss the interaction with personal & communication of members worldwide
The money wasn't a problem because I was well compensated.
I did my job for 37 years & I actually enjoyed it
