The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

So, I wait until the very last day of 2024 to get my first cold of the year.

Had to, naturally, cry off the NYE party at our friends, especially as the host is undergoing treatment for leukaemia.

My wife offered to stay home with me but I told her that there was no point in us both missing it.

So, I shall see in the new year with a cup of tea and some painkillers!!

Roll on 2025!
Good on you to make the choice to stay home.
We had a birthday dinner ... one person said "it is a minor cough" and then two days later tested positive for COVID. Nothing says happy birthday like worry for the couple of people there who have weak immune systems and the rest of us, too. Fortunately, no one else seems to have picked it up.

I sprang/sprung for some really good pans for chrymas - carbon steel. They need to be seasoned so I did that yesterday.

I seasoned them with high-quality high smoke point oil. But stiff still sticks to them. I’m not giving up on them, but I’m pretty disappointed initially.

I’ll keep on reseasoning them and see how they go.

You can’t wash them, DEF no dishwasher. We’ll see.

Seasoning is more a "lather-rinse-repeat" than a "one-and-done" type of process.

Here's an article that may help??
