I always bring my mom coffee when I visit her. I go to Dunkin’ Donuts and get it the way she likes it: “half coffee, half milk and a shit ton of sugar. It’s for my mom - she’s 95 and can have what she wants.”

Now I’m sort of a regular and some of the people there know my order.

My poor mom can barely talk… she’s pretty weak. But when I asked her last night if she wanted coffee, she said quite clearly “half milk with a lot of sugar.”

Thanks for your well wishes. She is not in any pain.

I am, of course, on another corner of this triangle. But I suspect that the Chiefs will roll out every injured, blind and just not damned good enough player tonight so that the bucking (sic) Broncos will romp home. To compound our collective misery, the Dolphins will almost certainly snatch a 4th quarter defeat from the jaws of an almost certain victory!

I look at it that his Earthly Troubles are concluded. He doesn't hurt any more.


I think that Burrow should be considered seriously for MVP if the Bungles make the playoffs. There are damned few other reasons they did, and he got his ass pounded this year and still did yeoman's duty.

I got 8 hours of sleep for the first time in a month. I had been averaging 6 to 7 and needing naps. I feel great. I need to replicate what I did yesterday.

It must be the weekend. Mom's preferred younger brother (the older one is a raging asshole) has been on the Alzheimer's downward slope. Last week he started circling the drain. He died in the wee hours of yesterday morning. Meh. The funeral will be either the 11th (way easier) or the 16th (a pain in my ass). Of course, it's out of town and I'll be chauffeuring.


How 'bouth them Bungles? Now, if Dumbver and My-Hammie can both lose, but the 'fins have the Jets, and that ain't likely.

Being a lifetime Broncos fan I have to hope that they can pull this one out tonight. If you follow a sports team it can be heartbreaking if you have year after year of losing.
