I agree. They have special rules for pain management that are so crucial at these times. And the staff? My experience with hospice staff has been incredibly positive. I hope @Wonderer67 and his family have a similar experience.

You know those days when you shouldn't have gotten out of bed? I should have guessed this was one, when I started fixing a faucet, and a small leak in some piping.

Faucet was a royal pain. The pipe was even worse. Cracked bronze fitting. Can't get a replacement today, and trying to mess with it made it worse. Had to clean and solder it shut as a temporary repair...

This new bronze is potable water 'safe', but starts springing leaks in only a few years.

I think I want to go back to carrying it with a bucket! 🤬
 
Chores done, Christmas put away. My butt is now planted in my recliner watching the game. Oh yeah, went and got my right ear pierced today. My wife has been teasing me to get it done, so I asked our daughter for recommendations on reputable piercing/tattoo studios. She gave me the name of a couple so I went and got it done. It will be interesting tomorrow at work when “Mr. Conservative” (they have no clue about Lit) comes I with an ear pierced.
 
***Attention*** I just heard from greylag and he wishes everyone the best of there holidays. He apologizes for not being on and advised me that his 89 year old mom has had a seizure, and is doing her best at recovery. I advised him that he and his whole family, especially his mom will be in our thoughts and prayers. He also said when he can he will be returning and misses everyone.

I’m sorry to hear of his passing, Wat. Sounds like you went close, but it’s good you can be there for your mom especially. I’m sure it will be very trying.

I tell Mom that her family is unsatisfactory, half in jest and half quite true. It's a long story. Maybe one day I'll write a book about an awkward and unhappy teenager coming of age thing. Growing Up Goofy or How I Had An Unwanted Hard-On Through All Four Morning Classes. Her family was a lot of help in the awkward bit, and the being judged-and-found-wanting bits, too. Anyway, they are beginning to fade away. I'll help Mom through her bit, and then that chapter will be closed.


I'm okay, really. Looking forward to Wednesday's phone interview.
