The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

Morning all. Monday is here. Just in case anyone didn’t know😂. Hope everyone had a great weekend. Longtime friend of the family passed away yesterday morning. We grew up together and our parents were really close. Haven’t seen her in years but sad nonetheless.

In honor of her gentle spirit, the colorful Morning Z…

I’m so sorry to hear that HDH….

May her soul rest in peace… 🙏💔

Yesterday marked 44 years that my grandfather died. All but dropped dead of a massive heart attack. He wanted to die in bed but agreed that getting hit by a truck would be okay, as in over quickly. I guess he almost got his wish. He was my Man Mentor more than Dad was. I liked spending time with him and liked avoiding Dad. We go down the road this week to bury his (GF's) baby boy.

Nine months ago, I lost a good paying job. Other than the money, losing it was good riddance. Three weeks later, I got hired onto a clusterfuck job and got job-costed out in 4 weeks. Again, other than money, no loss at all. Two and a half months of no work and then 2 months of shit work. Two more months off and then 4 weeks of really shit work. I compromised a lot for money and regretted it, yet I don't really regret it.

Finally talked to a Real Company last week about a Real Position doing what I had been doing, almost exactly. For Real Money, with Real Perks. Face-to-face and telephone interviews facilitated by a hard-working (not a spaghetti tossing) headhunter. Kinda the old-fashioned way. Talked on Wednesday, met on Friday, got the verbal intent-to-hire Friday afternoon. I'm waiting for the paper/digital offer so we can all agree and plan to move forward.

It takes awhile for anything worth having. I've kept it all glued together, somehow. But there have been a great deal of changes in the last several months. I'm obviously not in charge, and sine Change is the only real constant we have in Life, I do my best to surrender to it and embrace it. I also try to help others along the way.
