The old dog and I slept about 9 hours. He is cuddling next to me and seems to be pain free. Drugs are wonderful that way.

Years ago, when I lived downtown, I was near the university and there was a dead-end/college dive bar. Neighborhood drunks and frosh girls-n-boys. Most eclectic crowd ever. There was several of us who used to meet there regularly for food-n-fun. They drank - I didn't. There was this very unhappy sarcastically funny woman named Pamela who hung with us because we didn't hit on her and let her drink in peace. One late summer early evening, she made a comment about all the frosh girls out and about and the stink. We asked, what stink is that?


She answered, "hymen!"

I thought I would drop in to give you all an update and let you know I've MISSED you! I'm hoping I'm on the tail end of whatever-the-fuck-this-is!

If you haven't gotten your Flu shot for this season, it's not too late. Also get any Covid boosters you may need. I'm glad I got mine in October. Flu is NOT a benign illness! I think we tend to forget that 10s of thousands die in this country from it; many were previously relatively healthy. Millions die worldwide. There were a couple of days I thought I was going to be one of them. OK. The PSA portion of this post is over!

Thanks to a detailed Reader's Digest version of the thread from W and Likes, I feel like I am sorta-kinda-maybe caught up. There is NO WAY I'm going back 100 pages! Whew! You lot are prolific! Many others of you have reached out in DMs, and believe me, it really bouyed my spirits! I tried to give OM, B2, and Miss K more detailed info about how I'm doing.

I've gotten good care from my IRL friends, most of whom are nurses, my family, and my neighbors, and my care team.

I'm going to try to come back and post more often, building up to my full OCD mode. That might take a while. In the meantime, I'll drop in like I am tonight.

Your images come out so good when you post them. Is it your camera or imgur? Any tips on getting imgur to behave for resizing?

Hmmm. I don’t know.

When I take pics of flowers for my gardening thread I always edit them and make them all look nice and perfects. Then when I switch em over to imgur, they look awful.

These I just took the pic and put em over to Imgur, so I don’t know.

For whatever reason I can’t make my pics a smaller size on my iPhone which is why I use Imgur to begin with.

It’s an older iPhone. (11 or 12 I think)

Whose to determine what and who normal is? Aren't we all individuals with our own thoughts, and desires? Our own feelings and lives that vary dad to day? If we were all the same would we even be here, would we even think or feel the way we do? I think our normal is our own our normal makes us unique. And we have to be true to who we are and what we think and feel to be our own normal.

Polar Vortex is arriving ahead of schedule. Will need to up my game to avoid a migraine, but so far so good. My plans for the weekend are all indoors as well. Just stocked up on groceries yesterday so should be good there.

Be careful, L2. My buddy in WI sez it’s gonna be -4, -7 and warming up to 0 for the high on Wednesday. Your temps are prob the same.

I love being out on the hill with my boys but with just two weeks of our pheasant season left I am just about done in. It’s getting tougher to get the enthusiasm for early mornings and days climbing hills but I know when it ends I will miss it…….and so will the boys. I think though we are all ready for a rest

first off - you must be in amazing shape!! And the boys too.

But I can imagine that this takes alot out of you and the boys each day.

My dog needs to be on some pain medication for his painful joints. He’s on gabapentin. And hopefully that will work all right. Otherwise he’ll be on trazodone for sleep. He doesn’t have an apparent virus disaster. Looks positive now.

Love that!! So many Canada geese wintering in the fields next to our farm. Like thousands of them!

Just got back from taking Mom to her heart doctor. No changes there thank goodness. Went over her med schedule with him and now that we have done that with both docs, I am ready to put her back on her original schedule with the two of them. She was skipping three meds and taking two she shouldn't have

This will bump up her meds to 4 times a day instead of the two times she was doing, which was easier for the house keeper to keep up with but not what she needed. Not the house keepers fault, I just was being compelled to get here and take it over is all. I didn't get here as fast as needed apparently.

That's what happens when you don't listen to the universe. Even when it's tearing down your world around you. I tend to flow from one tragedy to the next over and over before I ever stop and take a look around.

Glad you’re keeping an eye on her! And keeping her meds up to date!
