If you haven't gotten your Flu shot for this season, it's not too late. Also get any Covid boosters you may need. I'm glad I got mine in October. Flu is NOT a benign illness! I think we tend to forget that 10s of thousands die in this country from it; many were previously relatively healthy. Millions die worldwide. There were a couple of days I thought I was going to be one of them. OK. The PSA portion of this post is over!

Thanks to a detailed Reader's Digest version of the thread from W and Likes, I feel like I am sorta-kinda-maybe caught up. There is NO WAY I'm going back 100 pages! Whew! You lot are prolific! 🤣🤣 Many others of you have reached out in DMs, and believe me, it really bouyed my spirits! I tried to give OM, B2, and Miss K more detailed info about how I'm doing.

I've gotten good care from my IRL friends, most of whom are nurses, my family, and my neighbors, and my care team.

I'm going to try to come back and post more often, building up to my full OCD mode. That might take a while. In the meantime, I'll drop in like I am tonight.

My mother has a Betty Crocker cook book from the ‘60’s. When you pick it up, it weighs a ton…due to all the clippings of recipes she’s stuck in the pages! 😂

Cold and dreary here today. Must have rolled in overnight. We went to the State Park last night to stargaze (you can see Venus, Saturn, Mars, and Jupiter, but not Uranus) and it was clear as a bell. Not a cloud in the sky. Fitting as today is a funeral for a friend.

The MZ is dedicated to a gentle caring soul. Rest in Peace dear girl. Spread your wings in eternity. 🥲

Got back from the service and it was a nice send off. Saw people I haven’t seen in 40+ yrs. The preacher did a great job and even though sad, she suffers no more, and we all take solace in that.

Emotionally drained, came home and atttemted to take a nap, when the phone rings, and it’s our son with the granddaughter squealing in delight. A kitty had somehow gotten onto the back porch and they were out playing with her! She’s not a tiny kitty but a young cat. Buffy colored tabby. We are all in love. 😻.

Soooooo….she doesn’t have a collar, never been seen in these parts, but isn’t feral. In fact she was quite calm around a 18 month old. Which tells me she’s been around humans. Son was asking me what to do…I think first, take her to vet to see if she’s tagged, then put up some Lost Kitty Found posters?

Any other hints to attempt to find the rightful owners? She’s found a home if she’s a true stray😁. SWhoMBO, even offered to take her if they can’t keep her.

Glad your friend is at peace

There is nothing better to hear than a baby's excited squeals. Hope they can keep the cat.. glad she is somewhere safe and warm.
 
A busy day. Housework.

Then a new chiropractor. I’m not really a believer in it, but the guy was recommended for some really good orthopedic insoles several years ago. And I ordered another pair a few weeks ago and figured wtf. My shoulder is in rough shape, and I have spinal stenosis.

He seems to be a pretty good chiropractor and did some good diagnostic work and spent some decent time with me. But he’s a political nut and went off and off about vaccines and all that shit. So finally, I said, “appreciate your passion, but it’s not really my thing.” Dude just wouldn’t shut up.

I will try another visit or 2 and see how it goes. My back is much looser and he taught me some good stretches to stay more limber.

Ironically, after that I had to load and deliver a cord of firewood! 😂 it was near where one of my old buddies from HS lives, so Mrs wonderer and I met him for a drink.
