The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

I used to love looking thru the McMaster Carr catalogs. My dad used to order shit from there all the time.

One of my good friends used to work there.
I still order things from there all the time. Just got one in last week. I have a recent catalog. It's well over 4000 pages.

It's in the garage, so I'm not going out there for a page count! 😂

This would be right up my alley....

Well, we went to see them. They're not open for business yet, but that's coming, I suppose. They are 14" wide by 34 feet long. Concrete slab. Not sure about the insides, but likely as not, the bath is in the middle and kinda divides the house into two rooms, bedroom and living/kitchen area. Solid side walls with a window in the back and a window-n-door in the front. Through-the-wall heat and a/c unit.

I'm thinking a wood frame floor would be easier on older joints. Sixteen by thirty-two might be better. A P-TAC heating system might be better, or a mini-split. Divisible by 4 in both dimensions is cheaper/more efficient for wood and building.

It would be private. With a bit of space around it for gardening or simply a touch of distance from neighbors. I'll scratch my head.

We ain't there yet. That's why the new job, to add a bit more funding.

We did identify the next 4 parcels we want. Three of them are where they subdivided for the lake and they forgot to ask the county first and made the lots too small. But, with the chunk we have, we have options. And we will have funding in place.

Off to read . . . .

They did today..... I am trying to only use in extreme cases..... I don't want to offend my bff from scotland..I will be uninvited from visiting....

I looked to see how much a trip to Scotland would be the other day..

But we have to get lil better so she can come along
Actually you will fine, just fine in Scotland where profanity is used as a punctuation mark in some circles LoL Yes you must speak to @Lilianna23 about a trip….double the cuddles for my boys!

Far from standard, but they are really handy to have IMO.
One of my childhood homes was built in 1922. The pantry had been converted to a dinette decades before we bought it. While it was handy for seating a large family for a meal, it might have been handier in its original state.

Just the opinion of one of the kids tasked with unloading on grocery day and subsequently running down to the basement for something when we would run out up in the main kitchen - since we had no pantry. 🤷‍♀️
When I was stationed in England ( many, many years ago) five of us rented a old farm house built in the early 1800's. It had what they called a cold pantry. Small openings to the outside on the outer wall. Nice place to stick the beer in the winter.

My grandma in Minnesota had the north room...she used as food storage because was always cooler.

I try my hardest not to curse.... it isnt a good look on a lady and it offends people.... yesterday was bad

Can't wait.....
When I was growing up, it was relatively rare to hear women swearing. But they were still, to a large extent, expected to be seen and not heard. As equality has become more established, every woman I know, with the exception of my mother, swears regularly. Some as much as I do!
Progress?

Drop in the bucket but not a bad place to start.
Read any TOS lately? Or just skip to the end and accept?😏

Is that the mechanic's version of the Sears Catalog?
Asking for... a friend
The McMaster Carr catalog is the Sears Christmas catalog for anyone who wants to fabricate something, look for cool tools, order just the right part, etc. plus it was a badass catalog. You’d flip thru it and say “that would be great to have!” “We could build or do ______ with this!”

The book for, designers, engineers, fabricators. Nerds, freaks, kids who took their alarm clocks apart etc….

We were thinking of putting tiny homes on our farm property. Was thinking of renting them to people who wanna spend a weekend near the winery near our farm, which is quite a tourist destination.

Fuckin township. You can have them but you can’t lease/airbnb/vrbo them. Not that they need to know…

Good morning cafe dwellers. It’s brrr - 5 F this morning. Windchill in the -20.

I am taxiing grandchildren this morning to day care unless notification of closing comes in.

Be safe if in the cold and stay home if you got the snow in southern USA. My daughter in NOLA got 8 inches!
It’s 2° here, so twice as warm as yesterday morning. (I think??)

Cold here in the northeast for another week or so. Last warmish day we had I used some ether to start my old tractor and charge the battery up some.

Was gonna go to the office today but my neighbors need me to let their dogs out a few times today while they take care of their daughter. They’re good neighbors who always have my back and I’ll always have theirs.

So work from home but back in the office Thursday and Friday.

My oldest daughter lives south of Traverse City and laughed at our measly two inches of snow.
