It’s 2° here, so twice as warm as yesterday morning. (I think??)

Cold here in the northeast for another week or so. Last warmish day we had I used some ether to start my old tractor and charge the battery up some.

Was gonna go to the office today but my neighbors need me to let their dogs out a few times today while they take care of their daughter. They’re good neighbors who always have my back and I’ll always have theirs.

So work from home but back in the office Thursday and Friday.

I see we are at 39 here. If it gets much colder I may need to drag in the lemon and lime tree. They are small ones in a pot. Darn global warming! I read polar vortexs are caused by the North Pole being to warm reducing the tight circulation around the pole and thus we get an ice age?

My oldest daughter lives south of Traverse City and laughed at our measly two inches of snow.

I spent some time out in Traverse City. Nice place but the worst flight I ever had in my life getting there. Flew over from Detroit in a commuter plane and we got tossed around like a leaf. I read the next day there were tornadoes in Flint.

We were thinking of putting tiny homes on our farm property. Was thinking of renting them to people who wanna spend a weekend near the winery near our farm, which is quite a tourist destination.

Fuckin township. You can have them but you can’t lease/airbnb/vrbo them. Not that they need to know…

Apparently, you can here. My only "concern," my thing to sort out, is how to do the wastewater. We are allowed to do separate "gray water," lavatories, kitchens, and laundry, and tubs. The poopers require a poop tank. Done separately, it may make more sense to do pooper holding tanks (1000 gallons or more) and have the suck truck in once a month or whatever.


We'll be sure to do it up right for Miss Potassium.

I just had the most frustrating meeting.

You can always trust people to do what's in the best interest....their best interest. Maybe take that as permission to do the same. I'm not saying you have to change from being the conscientious person you've always been. But maybe, just maybe, sometimes, you could say "No. I'm taking this one for me!". Just to balance the scales a bit. If you think of it as balancing the scales and taking some of the bitterness out of watching everyone else abuse the system, you mind find it easier to assert or insist.

Good morning!

Long day yesterday. Cold too. Didn't get above 28 I don't think. Funny thing is all the snow is predicted to be just a couple of hours south of us along the Gulf.

Salted caramel again this morning. Nearly out of that lot and then it's back to boring old snickers flavor. Who am I kidding? I love that stuff.

Not getting my hopes up but Goodyear and Phillips 66 asked me to take assessments. I hope that's a good sign. One of them administers a video assessment. Ever heard of one? I've never done one. It's when you read a question then giving a minute or so to prepare an answer. Next you signal your ready, and then video your response on camera. Now, there are two reasons I think this would be needed. One, the position being hired for is for public relations or oration of some sort. Second is more nefarious. Judging the applicant for their appearance such as race, color, age etc.

Can anyone enlighten me as to why a shop floor worker at a production plant needs to have a video worthy presence to be considered for the job? I get that its just another form of the in-person interview process but...recorded?

I am taxiing grandchildren this morning to day care unless notification of closing comes in.

When I was growing up, it was relatively rare to hear women swearing. But they were still, to a large extent, expected to be seen and not heard. As equality has become more established, every woman I know, with the exception of my mother, swears regularly. Some as much as I do!

I wish there was a way around it.... build the tiny houses and zone the plots and "sell" them for a dollar... collect monthly rent on the sly from me....err someone....damn township.... wonder if somehow connecting them together and rezoning a plot of land changes the rules?

One day, you will be a Little Old Lady. Little Old Ladies like to poop inside in the heat when it's cold. It was fucking 3*F this morning. How would your ass feel on a composting toilet seat? Besides, I'm beginning to think ADA accessible for these as a niche. That'll require a real bathroom with grab bars and a roll-in shower.

That might be a good thing. The airbnb/vrbo stuff has fucked up our rental market here! We have a serous shortage of housing in the area as everyone does the short term rental stuff instead of sell when they leave the area. Then taxes get screwed, as the short term crap don't pay the same taxes that hotels do.

Been up in NY for the last three days and had all the snow and wind I can take!

I walk from the Sauna to the house in the nude. Did so at -5F last night.
Quite often I'll roll in the snow between heating cycles. (Have you ever made a snow angel naked? That whole process is, um, er, "Refreshing"...)

Not yesterday tho, it with the temps that snow would have just a bit too much bite. 15F or 20F it's more reasonable.
