The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

There are wild blackberries everywhere around here. I had a small farmhouse on a couple of acres when I first moved to WA. There were TONS of blackberry bushes on my property. I never did anything with them until I met my husband. He picked some and, OMG!, they were sweet! After that, I started picking with a vengeance! Armed with a long sleeved shirt, heavy gloves, boots, and loppers, I would pick what I could reach, then lop off the canes to get further in.
I haven't been blackberry picking in decades. Dad used to take large coffee cans and screw metal strapping to them to make a hook that you could slip onto your belt. This made the cans hands-free. With two cans hooked to the front of our waste, we would wade into thickets and pick berrys till our fingers were dripping juice. Then it was time for blackberry cobbler.

We get wild raspberries here. They’re actually considered an invasive here. But yeah - in July, I’m picking at them.

I just looked at a bag of M&Ms in the gas station. $3.65 for a freeking bag!

I wasn't going to buy any, and after looking at the price I absolutely wasn't going to buy any!

As we were on the subject of blackberries this morning... the blackberry cobbler the wife made this evening turned out amazing. Best she's ever made!

No, I'm not sharing this batch. And, no I'm not sorry! 😆

Time to wind down for the night. Good night everyone.
Damn… that looks good!

You got back without incident?

Yes. TDK was a resigned traveller.

We were near the house and the pink-haired horn-rimmed-glasses woman who pulled up on our right saw That Damned Kitten standing in my lap staring out my window. She was making "such a cute Kitteh" faces, so I pulled TDK and switched sides for her. The woman loved it and loved it more when kitten pulled out of my hands and went to the passenger window to look at the woman until the light changed.

And "they" say that they're just dumb animals.

You made that ladies day! Must’ve been a great moment!

I think so, yes. The girls had a moment together.

A woman in a big-ass truck a couple of pumps over that the Buc-ee's in Crossville TN was looking at Ethyl staring out my window with all those "look at the cute Kitteh" looks. Ethyl was growling at her. She growls at people at the gas station. Dogs, too.

When traveling, she settles down in my lap after half an hour and starts spewing hair. Ethyl has lots of hair.

I have Ethyl hair all over me when we arrive.

Well, looky here! I'm all caught up and it's just a little after 2200 my time. Maybe that means I will get to sleep earlier tonight?? 🤔🤔🤔

Have a wonderful Sunday, all. Wring every bit of weekend out of the day! 💖✨💝

I am the sleep watcher and congratulations on your sleep routine! Last night I found my way back to 7 hours of sleep well! 🫂

Good morning Wonderer and Wat. I saw that Lili is back and getting her rest,

Subjects from last night about candy, home projects and nasty weather:

I only like dark chocolate and that was not popular in my youth. But I found it in college. Trader Joe’s has the best chocolate for the price.

My essential tremors limit my home projects. I now contract out painting and anything involving a ladder or requiring fine dexterity. I used to wire my own house.

Thank God the weather is getting back to normal temperature which is warmer than last week.

Cats! My GF cat hid in a small box i gave him and then proceeded to tear it to pieces. I no longer can gift my cardboard boxes to him 😂
