U were saving people.... i have sacrificed stuff to save people... mostly my peace of mind
One of these days they will figure out nurses have ptsd

They should already know it, the simple bastards.

Speaking of, I got a text from my "direct boss weasel." Of course, I had done what they text directed. Yesterday.

I didn't respond.

I been down your farm property. Someone, I dunno who, has partially plowed out our second driveway for getting firewood back to up to the farm stand. It’s a mystery. I have a secret plower! 😂 Meetings at 8 and 9. Now over. The better half literally just said: “hiya wat!”

She's so smart!!!

You were plowed? By strangers?? You've been raped, obviously.

I hope it was good . . . .

You're absolutely correct about them being tighter.
They're also running them waaaaay hotter than they used to for "emission standards."

Anvils come with a 170* t-stat and a 7 pound radiator cap. They used to use ethanol as anti-freeze and you have to make sure that it doesn't boil out since it boils 39 degrees before water.

The old car fools talk about running their engines in the winter long enough to boil condensation out of the sumps and I ask them on what planet this is possible since they never get hot enough to boil water unless there's a serious cooling system problem.

Mine on the outside has an off and on switch weatherproof housing. You could go that way. And instead of having an off on switch, use a variable speed switch. As long as it's waterproof you should be fine. Even better.Since the wiring is there, you can put the switch inside and make that a variable speed.

Is there no end to your wondemousness?

No, of course there isn't.

What the Hell was I thinking?

It’s really cold today. I can feel it even though the temperature in the house says the boiler is keeping up. There is a chill. 🥶

You feel the draft. Look for where air moves through (a lit cigarette is easiest, but who smokes any more?) and caulk/fill the hole. Finding air leaks is time consuming.

Oh, and Wat fell down and went boom on the heathen ice. Landed on the left shoulder having stiffened up so as not to crash the skull into it. Wat's Perpetual Policy: Must Save The Brain!!! Funny thing is, after doing those kinds of things, it makes the most sense to lie there for a minute or two and to take stock of what condition the body is in and whether we want to proceed further. We were good, so we did.

Treacherous shit that.

I found a spot to slip on while shoveling the other morning. Not sure but I just went with it and fell back. Kind of got low to the ground as I was falling? Lucky. I wasn't on anybody's ring camera so only god and I know I did it.

That's good stuff!
I remember having a choice of thermostats for the old Chevy engines, in 5 degree increments.
