These things I wear actually DO have selective hearing. If there is no noise, they will search for any noise and focus on it. If there's lots of ambient noise, they turn off everything but which direction I'm facing and hone in on recognized speech ...so if you're at a table at a loud restaurant I can hear just you

My husband had hearing aids like that. They were programmable to the situation.

He was profoundly hearing-impaired due to a congenital condition. He had worn hearing aids since he was about 3.

Evening (for me), everyone. Been busy. Back across the state and finally getting into the field on real jobs. Ran into a nasty one today. Made for great training so it was good on my end. Felt a bit bad for the locator who was assigned the ticket as we ate about an hour of their time. They rolled with it though so that was good. Hands-on is so much better than classroom, imo.

Haven't had time to keep up with everything here. Sending best thoughts to everyone.

It about 0130 on a rainy Tuesday morning in the PNW! I didn't get my lawn mower yesterday. I'll saddle up the truck today and go get one.

I better take myself to bed! I promised my friend I would try to be in bed by 0200. I'm going to muss B2 and the feather massage torture, tho!

Thanks. The snow came about 3 pm well after taxi duty. It was in midst of the baseball game where my Tigers beat the Yankees. It was funny to see snowflakes during a baseball game!

Good morning early risers and afternoon to our folks over the “big water”.

It’s bitter cold in the 20s with a wicked wind. The day’s plan is to walk the mall then head to a coffee house. I will check in on my GF about the little viral incubators.

Getting old is a pain, literally! I’m going for an MRI in a few months about my hip pain. The last MRI detected something suspicious of about 1 cm on the hip ball. I have a feeling a hip replacement is in my future.

Enjoy... speaking of, I finished the Russian Sniper book the other day. Highly recommend to those interested in snipers, military, WW2, etc. Was an interesting perspective IMO.

Just had to hand in ammo I found while clearing through someone’s loft after he died. 9mm paraellum and .303. Caught with that and it’s a long spell in the slammer and all my guns gone!

I did not, it was not all that loud and the sound was excellent. But either way, years of that abuse will fuck your ears…

I want to take a cruise to Antarctica on a smaller research vessel, not the super large cruise ships. I know the Drake passage is rough!

I researched cruises a year or two ago. There's a long-ass one that bounces up and back the coast of South America and spends a bit of time in Antarctica. I think it would be fascinating.


It's 5 months, I think.
