I hardly know who she is anymore (like in a good way.) she’s organized, driven, cleans up her own shit, independent… I miss the little kid part in her, but it’s great to see them grow up too.

Time marches on! How was Valley Forge?

It’s good. Saw a bunch of people there I hadn’t seen in a while. I like the area down there but it’s so built up now. And I like the company that is ther - they do engineering insurance and machinery breakdown insurance. It’s pretty cool stuff.

Had dinner at the black powder tavern if you know where that was. Right at the corner of swedesboro rd and valley gorge rd. Right next to 202.

Tax stuff drove me batty, too! I realized I didn't receive an SSA-1099 for my husband. I thought about trying to calculate the amount paid and the taxes withheld but, after last year's debacle, I'm fearful of making any kind of mistake that would delay things.

I was on hold with SSA for > 3 hours on Monday. I finally decided I would need to file an extension and visit the SSA office in person. I'm getting a refund again so it's OK.

Then, on Tuesday, I found that even though I PAID for Turbo Tax and have done so for years, I COULD NOT efile an extension! There was no way I was going to try to find an open post office in order to get my extension postmarked on Tuesday.

I ended up, after much aggravation and (quite possibly) saying some choice words to my computer, finding an online portal where I could file my extension. I believe this is my last year using Turbo Tax.

I figured out, several years ago, how to use them to get everything ready to "e"file, and then copy the info off the screen onto a paper 1040, sign that fucker and mail it, and fuck TT. After that, I just did it by hand and hated it less than I knew was possible. TT still sends me love letters, and I still iggie their dumb asses.

It is unnecessarily complicated! The IRS has the data on most of us. IDK why we even have to do this yearly dance. Congress could make it much easier, but then the tax software giants would lose their cut.

And 80,000 heavily armed IRS "agents" would be unemployed.
