The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

Happy Tuesday. Still have a check to write, an envelope to stuff and drop in the mail, and a resentment not to get. It's called Business, I reckon. There was Uber-Complaint greeting us coming to work yesterday. It seems that the damned plumbers made a mess in a woman's apartment - again - not like this is the first time, either - and she wrote a fucking dissertation complete with a ream of pictures. And she used her thesaurus, too. It made it all the way up the property management chain before 10 AM, so by the time it made it back down the our side chain, Wat had a firm grip on who was where, when they were there, and who was guilty, and of how unsurprised Wat was by the suspects. My boss has decreed the death penalty for the next batch of culprits.

Who says management was/is fun???
Who gets to be on the firing squad???

Tax stuff drove me batty, too! I realized I didn't receive an SSA-1099 for my husband. 😤 I thought about trying to calculate the amount paid and the taxes withheld but, after last year's debacle, I'm fearful of making any kind of mistake that would delay things.

I was on hold with SSA for > 3 hours on Monday. 😤🤬 I finally decided I would need to file an extension and visit the SSA office in person. I'm getting a refund again so it's OK.

Then, on Tuesday, I found that even though I PAID for Turbo Tax and have done so for years, I COULD NOT efile an extension! 🤬🤬🤬 There was no way I was going to try to find an open post office in order to get my extension postmarked on Tuesday.

I ended up, after much aggravation and (quite possibly) saying some choice words to my computer, finding an online portal where I could file my extension. I believe this is my last year using Turbo Tax. 🤬😤🤬
Typical, government depts the world over!

Had that happen too!

First married, in our first house. Woke up, and it felt a little chilly. Went down and popped the cover on the stat. The contacts were closed, but furnace wasn't running. Huh???
Wiggled the contacts and it fired right up. Then I looked at the thermometer. It was 34 degrees in the house...
That was warm… we had no heating system in our first … just a gas fire in the lounge. Winter there was always ice inside of the windows
