Well, it's old. Like as not, it'll do what I need for it to as a farm accouterment. That's going to be its job, I suppose. I know one thing: it'll be great for moving car carcasses and pulling engines from their moorings. As for going under a rusty junker to cut things a'loose? Perish that thought. Tip the hulk on top its side and use the tractor to hold it steady, and then walk over beside it and turn things loose.


And it'll be good for moving dirt and horse poop and all sorts of things. Big enough to tackle serious tasks and small enough to get pretty much everywhere we need for it to go.


And it'll dig tiny house footers, too.

For those who are wondering, I don’t remember my old handle and I’ve been gone for a number of years anyway, but that makes sense since I’m now finally old enough to legitimately join this club - haha. I’ll be 51 in a couple of days, so well within the criteria.

Nice to see everyone who makes this place a home, and if the barkeep is listening I’ll take a nice dry martini - on the dirtier side, if you will.

I have friend who is a "Smokejumper".... a true badass, IMHO, but one of the FINEST, most humble and kind human beings you'll ever meet.

Smokejumper - another profession I could never possibly do but am thankful every day that we have folks who can because it's so essential. Especially this time of year!! They help keep me breathing... huge fan!!

That said, do not sell yourself short!! I remember Deepwater Horizon and the 11 souls we lost that day.
In an archetypal story of Good vs Evil played out IRL... there were several heroes on the rig that day. I shudder to think how much worse this could have been without them. And you do this work every day (well, except for the your land rotation w/ your Goddess). I doubt most people think of all that goes into a "simple fill up at the pump" or any of the other items in their life that have their origin in petrochemicals. Thank you for doing this dangerous, needed work.

The other day when I was grumbling, she told me about a client of hers who is 92! And uses oxygen! Well, I just had to shut up after that! I want to be that lady!

For me? I lube up before the clear out. Otherwise it's excruciatingly painful. I find this worse than the prep actually. I tolerate simple vaseline - but make sure it's not scented. Yes - there is scented vaseline these days.

I think we all do the same to an extent. I do like discovering "new" be it music, authors, foods... anything really. At the same time, I do return again and again to my faves.
It's staying open to the new that I think is important.

When my care team says stuff like this, I like to ask how they fared when they had the test/procedure/whatever done themselves (or their mom, wife, sister, daughter). Their response helps inform my decisions - that and my own, independent research.

Same, girl! My A/C has been off almost all weekend. Given what it's doing and its age? I'm expecting I'll need to replace both furnace and A/C... and it's almost certain if will not be completed before some really hot and smoky weather hits. So then I also get to play the "Home or Hospital Game" with reactions.

I've put out a Princess Lea distress call to who I hope will be my Obi Wan Kenobi (aka guy who did the orig installs).

I always told my patients to use a straw. You can bypass most of the taste buds that way. I had to threaten my hubs with an NG tube! This is a tube that is inserted into the nose and ends in the stomach for you non-HCPs.
