The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

Monday - C U Next Tuesday... I mean, really!
But it's "done and dusted" leaving 7/1 to loom
What's everyone else up to today?

Your lips to the Universe's ears...
Update: Had its moments but could have been worse

Yikes!
I like to hope in those situations that it was a case of Fiscal Challenges and not Miserism or such.
Glad you have the know-how and ability to effect the change without a massive bill.

Welcome back... you were missed
Hope the busy season is bearable - with all the Bs, EARs, and ABLEs ;)

New Thread just dropped... #Following!!

The most competent, too...

Knowledge is Power... glad you know where the line is drawn for you

The "ick" spreads farther than you think... be safe, B2 🫂

I don't work in medical and just the thought of the central line has me wanting to string a few together in reaction

Roomed in college w/ 2 of the don'ts
One was a nurse for years, but hoping she either stepped up her game or had a career change along the line 😬

Kudos to your ex-BIL... I recognized far more than expected. Was a nice background diversion today.

As do I... I was a bit concerned until this... reassured now. 🫂

Beautiful! I have one snapshot of 4 generations of women... I'm a baby. Given that I was 2 when my great-grandma passed, it's so special and the only one with all 4 of us together in the one photo. 💖

Internet has 2 words for you on Elephant Ears: corms and runners
Crepe Myrtle: seeds and suckers
Sounds legit... I mean... 😬

Family friend w/ a fledgling Interior Design business used hops inside her home. Ended up with an infestation... aphids, mites? Not sure but she was not happy other than it was her home and not a client's.

*tucks that away for a rainy day*

😋 Wouldn't have you any other way... unless it means less stress for you.

You are aware of their job duties, yes?

I was going to say:
Stay safe... take precautions... fill pitchers and bowls with tap water just in case... hope the power isn't out too long.
But now?
Nevermind

Yay!! That was quick. 5 ⭐ 0 Complaints 😁

It's all relative - but storms that take out the power? Something serious is going on...
I do admit to not getting overly concerned unless the sky turns a sickly shade of green :ROFLMAO:

Thanks, Rj 🤗 Needed that 😁
Wow totally impressed L2

Hmmm, lesse:

bought a backhoe
got to use it to get the truck (the guy who hauled it for us) unstuck
discovered that I still "gots it" - just add a bit of practice
charged the battery in the little tractor
it didn't charge
tooken the battery out of the little tractor and went to the store
got a new battery, some hydraulic oil (5 gallons) and some replacement trailer running lights where Some Dog chewed them
went to get diesel and gas for the chain saw
found the chain saw chain file
put the new battery in the little tractor
cut a lot of the south 40.

Poodles love it when they discover Freshly Cut Grass. It's a delicacy - easy to eat and ready-served by Teh H000man. They scoop it up like loader buckets scooping gravel or the like. So Happy Poodles were made this evening.

My neighbor is in the hospital so the wife asked me to mow their lawn.

Knocked it out at lunchtime since I was working from home today.

Almost got my front yard mowed after work before the torrential downpour.

Afterwards my wife and I planted all of our pumpkin plants we didn’t sell at our farmstand. It was super humid after the storm and wet. I’d been meaning to plant the pumpkins for the last few weeks.

And I got a lot done at work too.

So I guess that makes it a good day. Somehow I managed to in 16k steps.

Sounds like a fab day at the ranch!!

Great looking machine!!

Good price, decent condition. It has a couple of leaks to attend to, but most machines that age do. Looks like a fitting on one hose (maybe) and one of the swing cylinders looks to need to be re-ringed. And the bucket needs some teeth. That's easy enough. All of it is.

I wanted an 18" bucket. That's what it came with.

Allah smiles on his favorite.

Home..almost hit a deer.... good grief

I saw a mess of them coming out here yesterday. I startled a couple of live ones while driving. It must have been a bumper crop of them last year.

I hate that - they just pop out of nowhere!!
Fucking deer. I hates them.
Had a youngster suicide on the side of my car years ago... was very lucky I only needed a new side panel on the passenger side of the car
Somehow I managed to in 16k steps.
Of course you did
Good for you... does it help your back at all?
I'll have to go back to the job next week to rest up.
Sign of a good vacation...

Finally had lunch w momma. She’s starting to worry about the procedure after keeping a stiff upper lip for the last couple of months. I didn’t think it was affecting me until we started going through some papers and she was showing me some hiding places of odds and ends.🥺. To top it off, we went to visit my mother’s last living sibling (she was youngest of six) who’s in assisted living…but thinks he’s going to rise up like a Phoenix and go home. My cousin did gift me a bait casting rod&reel thereby saving me $100+…so, that was cool.

The heat, the emotional drain of coming to terms with momma’s situation, I took the afternoon off and watched Field of Dreams on Turner Classic. Seemed like a perfect movie. The scene where Doc “Moonlight” Graham crosses the line to save the little girl…gets me every time.

All my Tea Tree and Castile soaps came in flooding in from the U.S. Mail, so after some backyard casting w the new reel, I mixed up the potion (minus the 1% Hydro-Peroxide…Walgreens didn’t have it) I decimated the spider mite infestation. Hunkering down this a.m. to watch the F1 Austrian GP…Everyone havre a great Sunday.

It's really hard for us to see our parents become infirm. I'm glad you and your mom have each other. Also, very glad she's taking the time to show you where things are. 🫂🫂
