I’ve been researching Indian tribes around the area my wife is from in the desert southwest. Basically narrowed it down to two tribes, one well known, and the other a smaller offshoot of a well known tribe. I started reading a book about Apache’s and it’s sort of given me pause and I might be leaning back towards them. She had both a paternal and maternal Native American grandmother…but sadly, no oral tradition or tribe affiliation. Mainly due to the Mexican side of her “tribe”😂

In light of all the New Mexico research I’ve done…I’m switching gears this week to New Mexico MZ—-enjoy😀

Shiprock New Mexico in that pic. Was there as a kid in 1976, then went there w my fam in 2014.

The plan was to move out to NM to be nearer SWMBO’s family (there’s more of them than us…and they’re closer in age than what’s left of the octogenarians on my side) but then my dad passed and I couldn’t leave my mom here alone…she wasn’t going to go…we tried to entice her with a homestead type deal where we’ve all got a plot but all family neighbors…she wasn’t buying in!😂

Family member was on dinner duty. They were so excited... cooking was not a skill or pastime of theirs, so they worked at this recipe.
Everyone was at the table, blessing said, and they raised their hamburger up to take that first bite...
everyone at the table froze... they all saw it, but didn't know how to tell the cook... there was a spider on their patty.
