The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

Up. Coffee. Oh Three Hundred. I reckon that this is no surprise what with the very early crashing and all. Gotta go to see a ticker nurse practitioner here in a bit. Then I gotta go do some estate stuff since I'm in town. I did find the cleaner's name, so we're in touch and she can do the place when we have it ready to shine fer sellin', etm. Clothes both washerizin' and dryerizin'. They ain't self hangerizin', however.

I feel the same way about setting up tv(s). I was involved in tech my whole career, but keeping up with it, gets tiring, and my wife auto. turns it all over to me, and it's not the job I've signed up for.

We had children (or our siblings did) for a reason. New electronics is the reason.

I can tune a carburetor by ear, but . . . .

Sweet Dreams, spoonies
Nite-Nite...

Cats make that exhausted crap a way of Life.

Ethyl hid somewhere yesterday for several hours. She has yet to tell me where. I gave her a good scolding when she resurfaced.

Ask me if she cared what I had to say.

Go ahead, ask me . . . .

All too real…or so I’ve heard!

Have a friend who decided he wanted to be a blue water sailor and bought a 35” sailboat. Set sail for a trip from NC to Nassau. Offshore of Savannah out about 100miles they get into a storm and the tiny ship was tossed like the vid. My friend elevated and smacked his melon on something, got a concussion, and they ended up having to high tail it to Charleston.

Paid the crew to take it up the intracoastal and promptly put her up for sale!

I used to have these flights of fancy where I wanted to do some blue water sailing but then started watching some vids and it cured me of that.

Did I mention I know just enough about sailing to be dangerous?

A couple of years ago, I googled a former boss to see if he was dead. He wasn't, not yet, but perhaps he wished he was. He was always basically a preppy - a rich kid pussy - and a raging know-it-all asshole. Anyway, he was dating a lawyer, which takes a lot of st000pid and arrogance. Landlubber Boi takes her sailing. They hit a storm somewhere down south and he basically tied her up - in his control freaking manner - to keep her outta the way, his words. She sued him for some kind of wrongful restraint. The case was here for something that happened there, and I have no idea how that works, but whatever. She lost, so I hope she hired ninjas to get retribution.

Preppies shouldn't sail . . . .

The first present I wrap is beautifully finished and looks fantastic? Then I realise that it's taken me 10 minutes and I look at the remaining pile of gifts and think "I am not prepared to devote that much of my precious time, to such a pointless task, when the recipients will simply rip the wrapping to pieces when opening their presents."
If you get the last gift I wrapped, you would swear that the family pet had savaged it.

Gift cards. Colored envelopes. Pretty little bags. Pretty colored tissue paper.

I could gift the East Coast and be prepared in 10 minutes . . . .

When i retired, I was senior editor for a technical book publication in Philadelphia, PA. That was my career. Now I don't want to look at Technical books...
I get that. I retired from my public health job and then consulted to help the family. When my wife got sick I stopped consulting and feel behind on the science. After her passing I shut the consulting down and just focus on my children and grandchildren and friends. I don’t miss it.

My early years I spent a lot of time on the Great Lakes some of it on research boats and others sailing. On a calm peaceful afternoon there is nothing like being out on the big lake. But when the winds pick up and storm clouds approach it’s time to get the hell off the lake. Novices don’t know when to leave for port. That’s who get hurt.

Good morning OM, Wat and Sub. How is your coffee? Nothing special planned except errands before winter crap begins tomorrow and doesn’t end until Thursday. I have 2 more doctor’s appointments and now I know I am getting old. I have too many such appointments.

But coffee with my life companion is coming up.
