I did hear back from Bob, the NJ car guy, about the '26 Chrysler. The owner is a woman, probably the widow of the guy who actually owned said auto. Still fucking their fists about a motherfucking valve stem.

I’ve never had the English variety. I must try!

Here a flapjack is a pan fried cake. Flour (or buckwheat, my fave), milk, eggs… a few other thingS, covered in maple syrup.

The missus likes them w peanut butter too.

A good definition of US vs UK pancake vs flapjack. My dad would call our pancakes a “flapjack”. I make an oat bar for breakfast quite often. I like the recipe and want to try it.

Any recipes for breakfast using steel cut oats that are unique to the UK? I found some recipes online but not sure they are unique to the UK.

Decent work pants, like jeans which aren't fucked, a collared shirt - the other guys wear company polos, but Wat hates polos and polyester, so he wears what he owns (think: cotton) and a ball cap with the company name on it - and "boots." No one wears boots, really, so Wat wears track shoes and keeps boots in the car for crappy days. He will wear his sweater to the Xmas party.
 
Good morning denizens of the diner. I am not a member of 3 am club today. The old dog slept in to 430.

I’m on cup 2 of coffee. The local roaster calls this batch of beans “Bad Ass Women”. It’s got a kick for sure. 😂

A sloppy wet snow is falling messing with roads. The forecast is for rain to start soon. I expect the roads to improve as temperatures improve. I pick up grandchildren later so I expect the drive to be OK.

You know, I have a "plan" for how much longer with work in general and maybe working here, and more and more comes the idea of simply saying, "fuck it" and wandering off and doing anything else.

Up. Time for a refill. Chatted last night with the woman selling her dad's 1923 anvil. He died in 2022. Car hasn't been started since and I'm wondering what kind of project it has deteriorated into. Maybe not. And there's the Marmon coupe in RI, the Dodge roadster in PA, and everything is a contrivance to get Wat to drive north to retrieve a car in the winter. Meh . . . .
