The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

This is on a 100 year old rig: wood spoke wheel with a demountable rim which has been tired. Inner tubes, I'm sure. And valve stem covers. Anyway, they're having a wank on how to do it on the offhand chance that Wat will wander off.

They're fucking right as rain . . . .

Any chance to re-tube them? Lots of tire groups forget about tubes when your wallet is out.....

Quick catch up then off to PT and bed
I toured a large Starbucks roasting plant located in our county about 15 years ago, and the smell of burnt coffee beans permeated the place. The roasting ovens came from Italy, and new, bigger ones were enroute to be installed.

This one sounds like a hanging offense 🧑‍⚖️
I was in the 27th MASH unit. I don't talk about it, more like I Won't talk about it!
I returned home and became a Paramedic EMT in Philadelphia
Your service, your choice.
I am grateful though... that one someone's worst day, they had our Rj by their side. 🫂🪽
Home from weaseling. Too peopley, too many weasels, too much weaseling. No idea what I'll do tomorrow when there really will be weasels present. I am so over people by this time of day.

I would much rather get coffee from a local cafe or shop where they nurture and care for the very product that is at the heart of their business.

Valve stems are so yesteryear. Why hasn't GoodYear or some big Chinese tire company figured out how to inflate a tire permanently?
😱 What?!? And completely shut off a perfectly good revenue stream??? 😏

Here's a flapjack recipe, from the BBC website:

https://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/flapjacks_86993
Here in the US, we would call those either a Granola Bar or an Oat Bar.

In the US, flapjack is synonymous with pancake or hot cake.

(In case you take a shift at the grill ;) )

US Pancake/Flapjack (Thick, fluffy)
  • UK Equivalent: Pancake (but usually thinner, more like a crêpe) or Scottish Pancake (thicker).
  • Description: Made with a leavening agent (like baking powder) for fluffiness, pan-fried.
UK Flapjack (Oat bar)
  • US Equivalent: Granola bar, oat bar, or cereal bar.
  • Description: Baked bars of rolled oats, butter, brown sugar, and syrup, cut into squares.
Key Difference
US: Flapjacks = Pancakes (batter).
UK: Flapjacks = Oat bars (baked).

That's it for me...

Long night so far. Can't seem to shake this cold. Pounding headache tonight, decided to finally have a small snack and take something for it.

Hope you all had a better day than I did.

When I'm not feeling good, lazing around (why does autocorrect suggest aerola for around? Anyway...), eBay tends to have a pretty good day too...

Goodnight all.

Today was rough... i survived though. I had to leave work and go to my parents to solve a problem. Xmas is coming quick and i want to sleep sleep sleep...
I did some cookies. Made roll out dough to bake tomorrow. Mm cookies cashew white chocolate and coconut lime shortbread.... time is just going so fast
How is it that time speeds up so fast this time of year? 🙄

Are you feeling better today? 🫂

You have inspired me. I found this box of old tank models I made when I was a teenager. I saw them in the basement a couple of months ago and now I’m going to start a new Christmas tradition.

I went downstairs to work out and got a little sidetracked!

Get it? Tanks? Tracks??

A tankers Christmas!

Henceforth, I will always think of you as 'Tommy Tanker'

Not entirely sure that this English slang translates into Murrican but it made me laugh anyway!

I actually do have a few tank models I built in the early 80s… I could send them to you. I think one is a T34/76, an m10 tank destroyer and I think a pzkw3!
I'll let you know if I decide to set up an auxiliary army base! My husband used to say he was going to build me another room to house my village if it got any bigger! 😱🤣

This was a beast bunch family each w kids from prior marriages.

Needless to say the wife is not getting it all. In fact very little. She’s really mad at herself cuz he did all the finances and that kind of stuff and she just went along. It’s not a great situation… I loved my friend and feel super badly for the wife…

And there’s some shenanigans going on w the kids. It’s a mess.
Money does crazy stuff to people. 😤🤬 It's why it's so important to have everyone who needs to know aware of the financial picture. So many times one partner let's the other take care of the money then ends up blindsided. We made sure that wouldn't happen to either of us.

The local pronunciation here is Aay-ster or awe-ster…

********MOMMA IS CANCER FREE!********

Took her to the oncologist yesterday and got the good news! Very relived! We took the last of the nut cake to my uncle and spent some time with him. He gave us the thumbs up of approval so after all these yeas we might havre finally nailed the old recipe down.

Had some lunch down at the beach and all in all had a great day. Hope all made it through Monday…it was a good one for us!

Excellent news, H! The best! 🤗💞✨💖

I showed her your snow villages and she LOVED it! Especially the ski hill!

She is sick she can’t set up her snow villages (she inherited a couple from two sisters plus what she’s collected) this year. Two reasons…she physically can’t do it this year and a very inquisitive two yr old is living with her! I thought about just setting it up myself, but might punt on that…
2 year olds are little municipal demolition experts for snow villages. I think you made a wise choice, H! 😅
