The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

I got tired of loading, and I rediscovered a couple of muscles that I haven't used lately. That's always fun. I made headway, which was what really needed to happen.
In another lifetime, when I had cats - two of them, I toyed with the idea of training them to make biscuits on my back. Only to realize my two precious babies made no biscuits - eveh.

Treat yourself to a massage when it's done. All those muscles you forgot you had will be thankful. Who knows - maybe the masseuse will be cute, too. 🤭

It's probably just being a touch out of shape there. I'll probably do enough stuff Out West next week to make other things tender, too. A hot shower goes a long way. And I will have Little Miss Bixit Maker

We're in the middle of a good storm. Had to go out and clear driveways this morning, and realized I needed fuel. So, off the the next town over for a couple of 5 gallon cans worth. They sure rape you for #1 diesel now. Damn near $5 a gallon!
(But still way better than having it gel up. Ask me how I know...)

Anyway, we're at 10F, 30mph winds, and snow falling.

We're supposed to meet some friends tonight for dinner. We haven't called it either way, yet. This looks bad, but as long as the drifting isn't too bad, it'll be fine.

This is exactly why I do not live in the UP of MI!

There would be death and dismemberment and hell to pay if that was my vent! WOW!

We had a problem with flying squirrels a few years back. I don't know if you've ever seen them up close. Very beautiful little critters, but destructive. Ended up setting som big rat traps, wound the trigger with yarn, and mashed peanut butter in there. (Must humane way I could come up with to dispatch them in the middle of the night).

Not sure what size squirrel you have , but maybe the same thing, but with a piece of steel wire added as a tether would work???

We have gray squirrels and reds here. They grays are awesome at the bird feeder, and I've never seen the. Damage anything. The reds get the 20Ga every time...
Fuck the Skwirrelz!!

(My new band). I’m playing 12 gauge.

Update on my wife's and my Hospital S-show yesterday: (She fell and broke her hip in hallway when I was getting some minor surgery)

This hospital was only built in the last several years, and is close to us in our advanced age. They had the extreme misfortune to have some crazy person shoot a police officer and two of their employees earlier this year. So my wife getting seriously injured in the same hallway where this event took place, has made her a minor celebrity the last two days. Nurses from other areas of the hospital have come to check on her since this happened. I just got off of a phone call from one of these nurses an hour ago, telling me that 'they' were worried about both of us, and said I could call her again, if I needed to talk.
I have a good feeling about her eventual outcome, since I've been kind of upset that her regular doctor has never mentioned her gait or walking, that to me looked like she was favoring a bad hip. She'd get angry with me for mentioning it, so I'd stopped. I'm taking this whole event in a positive way, and she seemed good with that approach from her hospital bed this afternoon. She may most likely be in a rehab center on Christmas day, a first for both of us.

Wat has what he calls his SSS - Squirrel Sniping System. It's a Marlin 60 with a Bushnell 3x9 scope zero'ed gnat's ass at 25 yards with subsonic ammo. The semi-auto will still cycle that round, oddly enough. It doesn't alert the neighbors.

Of course, Out West, There are almost no neighbors to alert.
I have a similar set up w a Ruger 10/22.

Urgh. Sorry this is happening.

And now. Keeping good and healing vibes for ya both.

Good day today.

We had no power at our farm. A huge tree came down last night and there’s no power all up the road where the farm is.

I had a few panels of foam insulation so I cut it to fit inside the door. Then split and stacked firewood and filled up the empty firewood bins.

Working inside the kiln was positively hot! Must’ve been 80-85° in there.

Mrs wonderer cleaned up and cleaned out the mill where our old tennanbt left us a bunch of shit. She found some good gems. A sledgehammer, a bunch of old hand saws, a fuckton of old 45 rpm records, two old chainsaws, some old 35mm cameras.

But mostly junk.

 So... no fishy crackers for the h00mans?

Welcome back!!
Yes, being home is never overrated IMO!

If you go, hope you have a lovely time and safe home again. 🫂
Driving in drifting snow is almost as challenging sometimes as driving in a whiteout.

Vermin gotta go... pretty from a distance but a nightmare when they decide your home is their home, too

Your home must smell amazing!! 🤤 😋

We always had snow showers on Easter Sunday but Christmas would often be in the 50s and gorgeous (during the day).

My dad and the dad across the street would often disappear for hours on Christmas Day. They would play 9 holes of golf using orange golf balls. :ROFLMAO:

2 loves of chocolate in the oven. My cranberry orange looks terrible lime looks yum and i frosted and date walnut looks good but the smaller one got a little too brown...banana is banana
