Dr. Tyler's egg nog recipe:

EGG NOG

Proportions – make as much as desired
1 egg
1 T sugar - rounded
1 jigger (1.5 oz) bourbon
6 oz Half & Half
dark rum or brandy to flavor
nutmeg to grate over as desired
Directions
Separate egg whites from egg yolks. Set egg whites aside. Beat yolks forever until pale and yellow like soft pudding. Add one rounded tablespoon of sugar per egg. While mixing, add a jigger of bourbon per egg. Pour into huge bowl and stir in 6 oz of Half & Half per egg. Clean beaters then beat whites until soft peaks form. Pour whites into yolk mixture and blend. Any solids in whites will eventually dissolve. Add about ½ cup of rum or brandy to mixture. Sprinkle nutmeg on top.

Consider whether more
bourbon is needed.

Helpful hint: more bourbon is ALWAYS needed.

You need to contact the power company and let them know. Unless someone is using (with or without permission) your electricity.

I turned Dr. Tyler's heat down for 64* to 62*. No sense in heating an unoccupied space.

The t-stat said 70 yesterday, so her neighbors are keeping the place comfortable.

And all of his predictions in 1984 appear to be playing out in the UK right now.

I like George. He is imminently readable. He presents his thoughts well, he tells a good story, and he pays attention. I'm in the political chapter now and he sees problems with each side, and he pulls no punches saying what is wrong with each. He knows who is behind what. And that was his thinking when discussing Napoleon the pig and his two-legged walking.

I felt profoundly sorry for Boxer the horse when last reading Animal Farm.

Sometimes when I try to get on, I can't access my DMs or this thread. I just wait a while until they get things untwisted.

Good luck with the elves! 😆😅

I use the laptop, and I notice that Lit is rather wonky of late, more than usual. They have always had server issues and that has gone on for longtime, GI. Look at my join date. Whole thing tanked in Spring of 2008, but hard.

Yeah!

I’ll have you know I’m a qualified expert marksman although I haven’t qualified in 15 years.

And I still can’t hit shit! 😂

I was a few points per match shy of expert when shooting High Power, and that was a long time ago. Okay, 20 years. I can still see the front sight and I can still focus, so I could probably still be a reckon to be forced with. But these daze, more of my stuff has scopes.

We should, as a thread, have a backup plan on another site or in another media
in case the whole thing gets sold, they retire the site or if it just plain old crashes…

Any ideas?

I’m right there. I have a hard time w iron sights now.

Focusing on the target, the blade sight and the notch/peep is maddening these days.

So yeah… sights on rifles. Except my old shit. Can’t bubbarize classic rifles.

We’ll see how bad my sight is when we mass-a-cree the pumpkins in a week or so.

What other platforms does/do other people use? When Lit died 17 years ago, there were (at least) three spin-off sites. They die of neglect after awhile. I know, I started one of them and inherited another. I got tired of paying the hosting fees for the four of us. I did start a secret group on A Social Media Site for maybe 10 or so of us, and it still is limping along.

Growth is tough/non-existent doing it like that.

I dunno. People talk about discord which is a forum site like this, I think.

Agree with every word.
I grew up in the village that inspired Animal Farm.
No wonder it was banned in Russia.
We now live in an upside down world where criminals are protected because of their victimhood, and the real victims are branded far-right for complaining.
