Update on my wife's and my Hospital S-show yesterday: (She fell and broke her hip in hallway when I was getting some minor surgery)

This hospital was only built in the last several years, and is close to us in our advanced age. They had the extreme misfortune to have some crazy person shoot a police officer and two of their employees earlier this year. So my wife getting seriously injured in the same hallway where this event took place, has made her a minor celebrity the last two days. Nurses from other areas of the hospital have come to check on her since this happened. I just got off of a phone call from one of these nurses an hour ago, telling me that 'they' were worried about both of us, and said I could call her again, if I needed to talk.
I have a good feeling about her eventual outcome, since I've been kind of upset that her regular doctor has never mentioned her gait or walking, that to me looked like she was favoring a bad hip. She'd get angry with me for mentioning it, so I'd stopped. I'm taking this whole event in a positive way, and she seemed good with that approach from her hospital bed this afternoon. She may most likely be in a rehab center on Christmas day, a first for both of us.

I was frightened very badly by an AmPics poster way back when and have never returned. She was very skeereh. Fortunately, she stopped posting here.


Her best thread was on on the GB asking why her teenaged son was taking longer-than-"normal" showers. Gawd, did she get shellacked.

So, politically, TDK missed her jump from the floor to the back of this chair. She wouldn't ask for help - cats never ever do unless they're outside in the rain - but I gave her a reach-around (just for those who notice these things) and helped her the rest of the way up since she was hanging there so pitifully. She topped out, grabbed my shoulder with lotsa claw, and then jumped down in typical cat manner, hoping that no one had noticed and all would be soon forgotten.


Cats are their own reality shows, all the time.

It was recommended to me by a Lit poster, now banned for pissing in the wrong people's off-brand breakfast flakes. This poster put up more good stuff in a couple of posts than some have in 20 years. Plus, was published multiple times and is likewise imminently readable. Fortunately, we still communicate by email, but it so isn't the same.
 
Good morning denizens of the diner. My heartfelt thanks for the posts and empathy to those up at 3 and 4 am.

Today is a final blast of cold and wind. Then here comes the warmer weather later this week. My granddaughter and daughter have strep throat. So no holiday celebration today but only when we are all healthy.

The flu cases increased 4x in this state during the month. I am staying away from sick folks.

The plan is baking, groceries as I need to replace my coffee reserve, and watching more football.
