The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

A tourniquet will help. A young guy selling Cutco was demonstrating how a siccors would cut a penny. The scissors slipped of the penny and he cut his finger pretty bad. I had to put a tourniquet on it to stop the bleeding.
Hard to put one on your own hand though. With a bleeding disorder, it’s a bit harder as well because you need the platelets to show up and to clot.

Sounds delicious. We used to do a dressing in the er for fingers with tube gauze and a silver cage. If u were mean to me i would make it look like a little dick
I have cutco knives and i hate them...cut myself every time i use them
I’m always nice in the er, it doesn’t help not to be. I’ve been in a lot of them, I’ll probably end up in one today, unless I can get a super quick appt. I’d go to urgent care but as a rare disease patient, I’ve been banned from them. :)

Ok, I am less cold now, and less cranky, but still perturbed. I am assuming it is some scam related thing, but a female looking profile, usually with 2 posts, will message me, introduce them selves, slow roll a conversation and then stop when we get to my age... different profiles but they always open with"Hi, how are you doing?" Anyone else know what happens if you are rhe right age?
yeah, I have gotten random women PMing me out of nowhere. My back immediately gets up & it doesn’t feel real. I have answered the first one, then got a super bad feeling about it, and left the convo. Then about an hour later I got another one from a different name but the same picture. Then I knew it was some kind of scam. I’ve gotten 2 more & haven’t even responded & just left the convos & ignored any additional responses. I’m not sure how it’s a scam, and I can’t prove it. But I’m sure it’s some kind of scam.
One of our vendors had to institute Captcha for every logon to the application for this reason.

They saw a 500% increase in account registrations almost overnight.

None of the account validations were valid... they were just bogging down the system.

While users find the Captcha annoying, it is serving its purpose.

I cut off the top part of my thumb pad while cleaning a mandoline. No one laughed though. It took a while to get the bleeding to stop.
I was pushing the yams over the mandolin at Christmas time one year.
Mandolins are known for these types of injuries. When my nephew asked for a mandolin for Christmas, I got him a pair of safety gloves, too.
May I suggest something along the lines of:
Cut Resistant Gloves Food Grade

I put a honey trap server up once for laughs on a home network... I had 1500 hits in 3 or so hours

I have thought how fun it would be to pretend I am excited and wealthy and then play them along until they realize what I’m doing. But it’s not worth my time.
Knew someone in college who did that with a telemarketer. Kept them on the phone for three hours. It was a quiet Saturday or Sunday and they were bored. 🤷‍♀️

Good morning denizens of the diner. A big weather change today as we go into a deep freeze.

I have essential tremors and so stay away from sharp utensils.

About scammers, remember it’s easy with AI. AI can be programmed to engage in conversations. So be careful of unsolicited DMs.
Someone somewhere programmed AI to have conversations with scammer AI. Fight fire with fire, I guess. If the AI is tied up trying to have a conversation with other AI, both of them aren't doing any harm. 😂

I dont mind captcha but the photos are too small

Awesome!!
As @Noor said - best not to be a douche in the ER (or any medical facility)... especially when you're a "complex case".
I worked in a meat processing plant for a year. They had chain mail gloves for the guys operating the automatic slicers.
Saving digits one glove at a time!
And bad sleep last nite. 👎 hate sleeping in hotels.
Yes - unless I'm bunking in with someone else, I never sleep well in a hotel.
More like apex assholes...
At least when I lived in their house and fed them.
 Sounds like I hit the Kitty Lottery when I had my two three + decades ago. 🥰

Yes - lots of things are a challenge solo. (Chronic tendonitis in hands/wrists)
Bleeding disorders + cuts =

It really  🤬 me off to no end how Rare Disease puts up barriers to care. Like that's in a patient's control.
Hope you get a same-day appointment today @Noor 🫂 🫂

Wait, good porn is not allowed??? What only bad, lazily scripted, low light, poorly shot bad porn is allowed?

Can I get a ruling on this??? 🤣😂
You may have a ruling… No Porm …. It offends my English sensitivities …. I only joined this site because I thought it was a Book Club, and had it not been for the calm atmosphere of this bar and lack of anything offensive I would have left long ago!

I hope that helps

There are a few medical professionals here that know more than I so i venture a reply at the risk of getting spanked. Not that that is a bad thing.

The idea is to stop the flow of blood long enoug to let it clot. The platelets are already in the blood so stop the flow and the platelets are there to clot.
Doing it on your self is difficult. Wrapping a ribbon or something like that, around your arm and inserting a stick and twisting it will work. Or so the Boy Scout handbood says. I think I still have mine:unsure:

For most of my life I was diagnosed with 3 bleeding disorders, they turned out to be part of my mast cell disorder.
I have two hematologists. I could do a coffee table of places where I’ve bled.Lol
If I can’t stop bleeding myself and need help, it usually means I need vitamin K or some other intervention. I have enough platelets, but they are very slow to get to the bleeding site, this is further complicated by my mass cells which at times release heparin into my bloodstream that causes me to bleed more.
I did pretty well with my thumb using pressure and tight wrapping, at least I got it so the blood wasn’t running down my elbow and onto the floor. It was just filling up the gauze. And I was adding layers of cause on top as the under layer got bloody.
The funny thing about that night was this happening in the kitchen, but then, of course, I went into the bathroom to get the bandages and the gauze and the Coban. When I got home from the ER, I cleaned the blood splatter in the kitchen and the bathroom, at least I thought I did.
But about two weeks later, I was playing with the UV light. My dad gave me to look for bedbugs or whatever he gave it to me for and I noticed there was still a lot of splatter in my bathroom and still a bit in the kitchen.
And I clean that up but every weekend, so I still go through and look again. It’s amazing how many places it’s going.
When I first got this light that’s for bedbugs for when I travel, it also looks bodily fluid. I decided one night when it was dark to take a walk through my apartment. I got as far as the bathroom door and saw that somebody had tried to open it and bleed run down the door. This is after of course I washed all the doors and walls when I moved in. I since rewashed the door using real trisodium phosphate and that removed it. Bleach didn’t really help much.
I decided I’m not gonna look at the rest of the apartment.
But if you ever wanna know if your apartment is really really clean and minus any bodily fluids like blood or semen or saliva or anything, take a UV flashlight when it’s dark and just go through the whole apartment and look. Warning, It may freak you out.

I can't imagine your trials and tribulations. I do have a low platelet count but I do stop bleeding.

I’ve been this way all My life, so it’s just normal to me. Even my Mcas stuff was, fir examples I didn’t find out until I was 53 that other people don’t get hives or splotches after taking a shower and you can prevent them with medication.
At my first appointment with The mass cell specialist, he would ask me these questions, like does this happen and I’d answer yeah but that’s normal, and he’d say not normal. This went on for like 30 minutes. I left the appointment totally shocked that I was so different for the norm because I guess I self defined normal by myself.
I also have big platelets because they won’t die on time. I usually take about 20 mins to clot on a good size cut, I gave myself 2 hrs since I actually removed part of my thumb, and then called for help.

The sarcasm is strong with this one.

I think I’ll stay a while longer…this place is starting to grow on me.
