The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

Saw the Nurse Practitioner yesterday for my follow up on a couple of issues: weight loss and diabetes. I am back to normal weight. And all my blood work is pretty good for someone of my age😂.

I need to get an X-ray of my ankle to check for any abnormalities.

Otherwise I would say I am doing well.

Take care those south of me as the snow and ice is coming your way.
I'm glad you got a good report card! 🤗💞

Yes. But the detailed have escalapalated my cortex memoaramus.

So please explanerate it again.

So you got the bit that the chain is 66 feet and composed of 100 links - from the interwebz link. The surveyor was a drunk. So was the blacksmith, apparently, because the surveyor broke his chain and tooken it to the blacksmith for repairs. The blacksmith simply heated the links connected to the offending broken piece, removed (tooken out) the broken bits, and reassembled the chain, which now consisted of 99 links. Then the surveyor had a new part of town to lay out.

Wrong.

Welcome to Small Town, 'Murrika.

Good morning denizens of the diner especially Wat who is an early riser.

Weather- we are all getting something crappy, too much snow, sleet, cold rain, freezing rain and ice. I want spring NOW!

Welcome back OM. I missed your unique memes. But I have some for today. Sleep in!

“Blink” is a book by Malcolm Gladwell helps explain our “gut reaction “ and intuition about people and situations. Our brains process so quickly minute details that it takes a while for our conscious self to catch up. Trust your first impressions, instincts etc. because they are right until proven wrong.

I run to trouble every night that I come home to a house that has been left to the wills and devices of cats.

Think about it. Each day, I leave them with semi-auto rifles, ammo, two copies of TM31-210, and household cleaning supplies, powder, primers, and a touch of petroleum distillate.

Yep. Up. Coffee. Meditations posted. Wintry Certain Death is outside. Not as much as could be - it still looks manageable. It's cold as balls, too. Furbutts nap quietly in the other room. Kitten climbed a curtain in there last night, and that is one of the reasons that she is known as That Damned Kitten. Still have power, it sounds like a bit of ice is falling outside, and there is plenty of food here for all of us mammals. We may all elude Death yet.

In this village nack in the day there were handshake deals and no records of atuff that occurred... for instance this past year we did work on the sanitary sewer (i/i and gps mapping) and they made a map of them and where all the manhole covers are
We were surprised to see where there were....some of them were in interesting places

Thank god your clowder dont jave opposible thumbs ....we would be having a different conversation

I'm sure you're familiar with Carlos "White Feather" Hathcock too...

I met (then) Gunnery Sergeant Carlos Hathcock III (the sniper's son) at the Quantico VA base during a civilian's rifle training weekend. My son, then 12, was participating. We talked about raising little boys and not a damned thing about his father or shooting or anything like that. He was a very human kind of guy and had a lovely albeit brief conversation.
