It wasn't obvious, since the damned thing was pretty proper-fucked. It was in need of a good bit of thinking outside of the box. And I got lucky and found a guy who had done something like it before and could extrapolate to what I needed.

Meeting one of my old national guard army buddies and his wife out half way to their place for lunch and run a few errands. This is the same couple we went to punxatawny with last year for Groundhog Day, which was a boatload of fun.

He recently lost his job and Altho retired, he is struggling with what to do next. His wife confided to me that it feels like when he first came back from deployment and she is a bit worried about him, so we’ll spend some QT w them today and catch up.

When I was 19, I was driving a loaner car. Used tip money to put some gas in after waiting tables then drove into the city on an errand.

On the way home... the gas tank dropped off the car.

Pre-cell phones... but I was 2 blocks from home.

Ran home, called 9-1-1 to let them know since it was a busy street.

911: Well, can you move it out of the road?

Me: Ma'am, that's 10 gallons of liquid weight. No, I can't "just move it" - which is why I'm calling you.

Get off the phone and call dad, then change out of waitress dress into jeans and a tee before running back.

Arrive back to see the firemen tipping the tank over the storm drain. I didn't think that was right, but also... there went my tip money.

Fireman tried to scold me for "leaving the scene".

Me: Well, it was stand around wringing my hands like a damsel in distress, or run the 2 blocks home to call 911 and get some help.

After my 1st knee replacement I went from home 100% to work 100%. First week dang near kilt me.

After my 2nd knee replacement, I did a staggered start over several weeks. Still dang near kilt me, but I had time for naps along the way.

and hot coffee…which BTW, wasn’t in the hotel room this a.m., so had to stumble downstairs looking like something the cat drug in to beg for pods.

Wat wanted guitar lessons. Dr. Tyler ordered him up some . . . piano lessons. No interest, not even a little. Fuck, it's not like I'da become no Duane Allman or even his 10th cousin.

I never had lessons. I just swiped my dad's old Martin and figured it out. It took like... 3 months before I made something that sounded like music that way, but I made some headway
