Got caught up and it's just a tich past midnight! I was a busy baking girl yesterday and today.

Yesterday was brookies and chocolate chip cookies.

Today, I made mini Bakewell tarts. I don't have mini tart pans so I used my giant muffin pans. This took me HOURS and was a PITA to get the pastry crust into the pans right. The largest cutter I have only covered the bottom of the well. I had to cut strips of dough and piece them together for the sides.

They actually turned out fine. I cut one in half then put frosting on one half and powdered sugar on the other half. I like the powdered sugar. The frosting overpowered the delicate sweetness of the tart. These are going to friends; they're getting powdered sugar on top unless someone begs for frosting!

Up. Coffee. Busy day coming. This job is a management challenge. I would have said "nightmare," but that's too fucking dramatic. The best part of this location is, there are lots of decent restaurants around there.

We did the Very Sick Woman's apartment yesterday. Here's hoping (after checking, of course) insh'Allah it'll be adequate for the next four weeks while she's on quarantine. Long story.

Morning everyone. I forgot about Fat Tuesday and tomorrow is Ash Wendnesday. The mardi gras celebration in my adopted town!
