Today, I made mini Bakewell tarts. I don't have mini tart pans so I used my giant muffin pans. This took me HOURS and was a PITA to get the pastry crust into the pans right. The largest cutter I have only covered the bottom of the well. I had to cut strips of dough and piece them together for the sides.
They actually turned out fine. I cut one in half then put frosting on one half and powdered sugar on the other half. I like the powdered sugar. The frosting overpowered the delicate sweetness of the tart. These are going to friends; they're getting powdered sugar on top unless someone begs for frosting!
