My BFF set her own challenge... a Wild Game Dinner for 50-100. Meatballs - a variety of camel, wild boar, and elk. Venison gumbo. You get the idea.
It was so popular, she catered for several successive years.

OMG - same. My therapist tried showing me an exercise that started with "get on all fours". I managed not to laugh in her face... then barely managed not to cry as I felt my hands were going to break off at the wrist. And here I thought the problem children were going to be the knees.
Don't tell... but if I don't figure out how to do that one sitting or standing... it ain't fucking getting done. Owie!

Happy Sunday!!! Fixin' to saddle up here. We may have a child who didn't get enough sleep, which is charming. Oh well. Wants ice cream for breakfast. Grandparents don't die on that hill.

No they were baked perfectly... they just suck

I hate when that happens. For years here the burners on my stove just weren’t hot enough. I made beef stew that was inedible. Beef so tough. When I redid the house I put in a slide-in Bosch. 19,000btu burners I can properly sear now. Now I feel like I can do anything. Plus with a little extra time, a sous vide, 4 charcoal grills to smoke with, a gas grill and two outdoor burners one for the iron skillet and fish the other to fry with, my imagination runs wild. I don’t really follow recipes. I read them and get new flavor ideas. And experimentating with smoke and fire there are so many ways to make something completely ordinary new and never seen before it’s like creating new species.
As for baking I kind of quit trying new things and just repeat what I know how to do and can give away. If I don’t get rid of it I eat it. I’m old enough to sit at this bar now and damn if I only gain weight. Real hard to shed pounds like I could before.

HOPEFULLY, fingers crossed we've been "adopted!"... she showed up yesterday morning, ate a can of tuna, and bonded with my Goddess and me.
We built her a little house with a heating pad in it and she was finally in it the fourth time we checked on her throughout the night.

Yeah.... i shouldnt have even baked them i knew the batter looked weird. It is the risk of using other peoples recipes. Or i at least should have started over to male sure i didnt mess it up

Ugh! So TRUE! Slept in, woke and remembered the Gold Medal Hockey game was on, jump up, run down, set the insanely slow coffee machine, hearing the announcers losing their minds at the start of the third period…and there I stood…waiting…tick…tick…drip…drip…

Got some plants yesterday but the rain sort of kept me in. Got a good deal on a prefab raised bed ring so did that. Will probably still do a build on a box. I have so much wood left over from an old play set and I can’t think of anything better than a box or two and a potting table.

Whats AFCI? And whats the difference between AFCI and GFCI?

GFCI is Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter. It monitors power flowing in one wire and makes sure there is just as much flowing back in the other. If there is a difference it shuts off the power. Typically those catch a short to ground, or another path of power to ground. Really great around things were there's water and power, so you don't hurt yourself.

Arc Fault Circuit Interrupter. If there are arcs, like on loose connections or something cutting into a wire it will trip. But they can trip if you plug things in, or flip a switch on (which makes arcs inside the switch). They were code requirement just before we built, but the code changed it and the inspector said not to install them. So, I was happy with that. They're not cheap breakers.

Apparently there are now varieties of strawberry that flower and produce fruit in the fall. That would be neat to try around here.

These are wild. The crop varies from year to year, but typically we're trying to get people to come and pick them on good years.
My only maintenance is not mowing them over!

I agree…a game at this level should have a 10 min overtime and at the end of that, then if still tied the shootout format. It was a GREAT game (I only saw the third period and overtime) and the goaltender for the US was playing out of his mind! They showed all the saves he had and they were fantastic.

Two strong teams and a great game. What more could you ask for.

We had one that just showed up. Someone discarded her on the road in the summer. Once fall hit she got really friendly. I'm allergic, but said "OK" (How long would a stray live anyway??? Had her for 19 more years!).

The minute we let her in the house, she climbed on the bed and purred for 24 hours straight.
