The AH Coffee Shop and Reading Room 09

try realizing at 75k words that it's going to take another 30k to get you to the end you want to achieve... before the end of the year.
I am amazed that you have written 75,000 words and know that you need 30,000 more to finish it. Psychic powers must be coursing through your mind to weave such a massive work.

Let's see... today is Pearl Harbor Day... 7th... so, say, 23ish days left. I'm... rooting for you guy! ✍️ like a bunny and hop to it! :coffee::giggle:

Edit: Crap, not Pearl Harbor Day. All-day doctor's visits and a long five-hour nap afterward do that to you. :(

Coffee would be nice now. I got an edited story back from Kenjisato and fixed my errors. It is now in the hands of the Lit poster, awaiting her nod of approval.

Short western story about an imaginary town called Calico Creek. Titled 'Calico Girl's Revenge'

Hopefully, it will be posted without problems and in short order. I'm not sure of the current time lag, but hopefully, it's not very long these days. It's been a while since I posted anything. The med bug has won out over the writing bug.

Thanks to all the coffee makers these days. I miss the original server and his wit. :coffee: :)

There's a new pot of coffee brewing and the teapot is hot. No jelly donuts this morning, just some glazed pumpkin spice cake donuts. I think I made some progress in my on-going argument with my Muse. We'll see if it results in some words written down ...

I struggled for days getting the right feeling for a scene. It was all finally falling into place this morning, and I had to leave for work. Hopefully it will all be fresh enough in my mind when I get home that I'll be able to dash off the next few paragraphs and move on.

Good evening everyone.
Coffee sounds delicious. For some reason, I'm thinking about one of those strange ones with chocolate in it. Is that odd, or perhaps just the meds killing tastes for seven decades of plain, straight-out-of-the-pot coffee?

I saw this tonight after sending it in the wee hours this morning. The timing is really quick, don't you think? It will be posted on Saturday the 7th.

A Calico Girl’s Revenge
The last western story.

I'm sitting in my favourite coffee shop, totally charmed that the brisk Polish barista recognised me and remembered my order (and has just ground some coffee for a Christmas present for the spouse). I suppose I'd better go off on my other errands in a mo.

My new chapter has a few readers and 3 votes so far, presumably from followers as they're 5s. #theonlywayisdown(ooh!)
I think my record is 11 5-votes before the non-fans get voting...

I'm watching from the window in my home office as a very yellow quarter moon sets. It makes me think I should include that in my WIP, but my WIP is in an urban setting. The moon would be hardly noticeable.

A Calico Girl's Revenge is now available to read. Posted as promised just after midnight.

It is a Zane Grey-style western story about a desolate town called Calico Creek. An old wizened drygoods storekeeper recounts a yarn about how a young woman was ravished by an outlaw and her revenge. It's not long—just 3,900 words. I invite you to read it and leave me a score and message if you like how it resonates with you.

Meanwhile, I'll just sit in the corner and sip a fresh cup of brew and think about Tex and his Texas coffee shop yarns about boats and such. Too bad he slipped away. The good 'uns all go too soon.

Today, I'm planting hyacinth and garlic for the spring. I have to rip myself away from this story long enough to get a few planting supplies. It'll be good for me.

I think I wrapped-up another story. Two or three more re-reads and it'll be uploaded as soon as the "new" drops off the one uploaded last week.

Last week's story - https://literotica.com/s/barstow-lakeside-outing - seems to be drawing more bombers than I am accustomed too. Don't know why, other than the one comment about "too much dialog". Interesting, must've been a first-time reader, as all of my stories are 90+% dialog. I write about people who happen to be having a lot of sex, not sex scenes where the players are incidental to the action.

I got the bulbs planted then remembered that I need to can the jalapenos that have been fermenting for six weeks. I'll do that tomorrow. I started next years' garden before finishing with last year's.

I'm about to make an Irish Cream with a shot of real Jamison! And then, I'm going to dope up and go to bed. I feel so yucky! I hope this goes away soon.

grandkid wanted Fall tomatoes: he must have planted at least 8 plants; we finally got some cold weather and more on the way. He pulled up all the plants and harvested a LOT of small and still green tomatoes. This afternoon he made about 8 quarts of Caddo Lake B n B Green tomato relish---yummy. Our garlic is really looking good also. Finally pulling out the last of my basil 'forest'. Pruning will start Jan 2 of the 'bushes'--fig, American Beautyberry, lantana, etc. 50 Dutch Iris going in the ground Jan 2 also. Then pulling out seeds to stagger 'greenhouse' planting for Spring.

I canned six pints of fermented jalapenos. I had enough left for a seventh pint, but I didn't have the brine to can them in.

Now I'm not sure what to do with them. They were raw when I sampled them--like six of them--and the skins were tough. Hopefully the canning has softened the skin, but I won't know until after they rest for a while. Evening out the heat is another thing that I hope canning will do. Some of the peppers got my attention and some were pretty mild. Generally, the red ones had better flavor than the green ones.

Now the canning bath is put away for the first time since July. I wrote through the scene that's been defying me, and now I'm on to the scene that was written to lead to. And the big aquarium is cleaned. I dredged out a couple hands full of crystal wort (a weed), and probably lost a generation of baby shrimp that were living in it.

I'm sure it's like pickling cucumbers. The longer you let them set the better they came out. My Norwegian mother-in-law had a specific time length for her pickled goodies (cukes, peppers, sauerkraut) that was measured in years.

Those must have been sour.

Condolences re your Bills.

There's a fresh pot of coffee on the warmer. Anyone know a quick and easy way to clean the buildup in the coffee pots? I usually just toss them when it gets so bad. Glazed donuts on the counter and the teapot is still hot if anyone wants a cuppa.

Been watching the drama going on with the Lesbian stories top list. The scores have been knocked down so low (used to be you had to go to the second page to find a score below 4.90) that my stories are starting to show on the list and they're getting the same treatment (at least a dozen one/two bombs so far).
