The Bard's Table Inn

Vixen looked up at the one who spoke to her. She shook her head "no" at his offer to have her join them. She was keen to eat her meal alone for now. She noted the other man, the man the Kendar seemed to be traveling with, she smiled. More to herself than to the trio. Her nod was a polite greeting no more.

She took a seat near the fire where the barmaid served her a thick stew, fresh bread and a cup of light ale. Vixen inhaled the scent. Heavenly, she savoured her first bite and ate daintily until it was all finished. Finally she sat back, repleat and clean. Her eyes were bright with curiosity though as she noted the Kendar was chattering again. He looked up staring back with open curiosity. Vixen smiled. He was truely amusing she thought. The fire crackled merrily, she wiped her mouth on a piece of cloth that the maid had also supplied before she approached Delbin, Silka and Dark.

"Gentlemen, I am sorry I did not join you earlier, forgive a woman her quaint need to dine alone. I wonder, what brings such unusual men to these parts?" Her face was neutral showing no sign of anything but polite interest. She took the seat Dark had pulled out for her. Delbin came up and sat close, looking up at her, his quick voice asking her a million questions, but never giving her a chance to answer any of them. Again, Vixen looked apon him with gentle amusement.

OOC; Sorry, I like to monologue Kender sometimes.

"Are you really nobility? Kaz was almost nobility. He was the supreme champion in the fighting circus. He jsut left after that instead of challenging the emperor, though it's good because the emporor then was corrupt and poisoned people befor challenging him so he would allways win. Dies that ever happen where you come from? Where do you come from anyway? is it a magical place? I know about magic. Say, This would mae a great addition to my book! I should write it down!" Delbin reached into his pouch to retrieve his book. Silak looked at him, allways amused at what he pulls out. Insteade of a book (suprise suprise) it was a pair of specticles. "Hey, this isn't mine. Though come to think of it, my friend Tas had a pair Just like it. Said it was magical glasses of true sight or something. He must have given it to me when I wasn't looking. Wasn't that nice of him Silak?" The draconian doupted that the other Kender put something in his friends pouch, but he doupted that the other kender would care either.
"So what'sss your sstory?" He asked Vixen, over Delbin's chatter.

ooc: is this in the Dragonlance universe, or something else?

ic:
over in a dimly lit corner, two weary travelers quietly sit. one is Galen Scylis, a Ranger, and the other is Kristia Derilindrea, his companion. both are elves. Galen is 5'11" with short-cut sandy-blond hair and blue-grey eyes, and though he is rather thin and lanky, even for an elf, he makes up for his lack of strength with his amazing dexterity. Kristia is 5'4" tall, has mid-back length dark brown hair, blue eyes, and has some quite generous 'curves'. both are nineteen standard years of age, but Kristia is energetic, light-hearted, and playful, whereas Galen is rather nervous, cautious, and a bit of a pessimist. as to why they are here, they're waiting to meet back up with two of their friends who are out trying to find out just where the hell they are...

"have you ever seen any creature like that?" Kristia asks as she motions towards Silak.

"nope... i've seen lizzard people, but they're short and kinda hunched over, and their tails are rather stumpy. i guess it's just more proof that we're in any of the known Realms." was Galen's reply.

"i said i was sorry!"

"yeah, well... why the frell did you go and push that big red button?!? everybody knows "when in a mage's lair, never push the big red button". but not you, oh no! you just had to go and push the big red button, and now we're probably in a different frelling dimention!" having said that, Galen let his head fall onto the table with a soft "thump" and sighed heavily.

"aaawwweee," she mumbled as she leaned over and rested her head on Galen's shoulder. "I'm sorry," she replied softly, then kissed his shoulder gently. "look on the bright side, though. you still got me, don'tcha?" she whispered playfully.

"yep. you and this nice mug of ale, here.." he teased. "the two of ye make my troubles just melt away."

"them and your inhabitions." she said with a wink.

Galen couldn't help but smile.

"We understand, M'Lady. I am looking for someone who has done me much evil, as for these two, I do not know. MAy I ask the same of yourself, M'Lady?" Dark asked, looking as if he would kill Delbin.

OOC; this is not the world of krynn, but something else. Draconians and Kender are unknown everywhere in this world

IC; Delbin seemed unaffected by Dark's look. Kender are immune to fear and all, but that was not his reason. He saw the 2 travelers come in and decided to say hi. "HI, I'm delbin!" he said, holding out his hand to be shooken. To his suprise, both travelers shook it. people rarely shook his hand befor, but it never bothered him before. "Are you new here? We are, even though we were in this bar all night."
"What exactly is your friend? He looks only simmiler to a lizard man, and I know of no lizardmen with wings"
"Who, Silak? He's a draconian. His parents were created from the eggs of a silver dragon, perverted by mages and clerics of the Dark queen to become evil but intelligent warriors. He was one of the few to be faithborn, because only a handful of femail draconians were made, and hidden away until many years after the war, when a pack of...honerable draconioans found them and created the only true draconian settlement. I went there when I was restored from the afterlife because I thought it would be interesting to see good draconians and all, and A young silak found me and we became friends and then...." Delbin talked on for at least an hour befor they got bored and interupted.

"My story?" Vixen repeated Silak's question. "Oh..." she smiled... "nothing terribly exciting I assure you... just..." she paused carefuly... "a weary traveller... much like yourselves I imagine."

She watched as Delbin stood chattering to two other figures in the Inn. "He is quite... energetic... isn't he?" She asked Silak. "Yessss... he isss that..." Silak replied. Vixen nodded not really expecting an answer but acknowledging it. "You mentioned evil?" She said looking at Dark. Her gaze impassive. "That's a rather broad statement... there is much evil in the world today..." She seemed distracted suddenly. She turned her attention to the entrance and frowned slightly. The expression marring her otherwise lovely features. Her dark blue eyes were intense when she returned her attention to Silak. "You are a long way from home." She stated. "Delbin... talks quite fondly of you..."

Gender Bender! James the Tender!

As I wipe down the bar, I look at all the patrons in the inn, then check my pockets to make sure the kender did not get too close. Checking for the presence of my shoe buckles, I growl as I notice one's absence, then shake my head and wipe down the bottles on the wall.

Delbin listened intently to the two's stories. He thought they were very interesting, almost as interesting as some of his. "Wow, I really should writhe this down. It would go great in my boo... Hey, this isn't mine" Delbin brought out a shoebuckle "How did I get it?"
"It's mine you little thief!" said the bartender
"Thief!!! I resent that. How can I be sure you didn't PUT it in my pouch."
"Put it in there, I never did any such thing!"
"Well then you must have dropped it. It's a good thing I was there, otherwise some real thief might have walked away with it. You can thank me later."

_____________

"He growss very attached to whomever decides to call him friend. For the firsst year he talked of nothing else except a Minotaur names Kaz, whome he claims to have adventured with." Silak's gutteral accent made it hard for VIxen to understand him, but she made do.
"I did travel with Kaz. I went with him to VIngaard to investigate a magical corruption of the knights of solomnia! I singlehandedly killed both a magical thief aargen ravenshadow and the renegade Galen dracos. I traveled with him to the minotaur homeland where with my help and the help of the grey man we defeated a mioghty red dragon who had secretly enslaved the minotaur race. I went with him to the new continent and singlehandedly, with a little help of course, killed a mob of angry blueskinned barbarian giants while Kaz destroyed the greygem, or so he thought."
"Astinus, the recorder of time does say that Delbin, or a Kender named delbin traveled with Kaz, ssso I jusst agree to keep him ssssilent." Vixen only nodded.

an interesting tale indeed...

Vixen understood the jist of what Silak explained to her. She could see however, how some were not as amused by the Kendar as she was. Once again she watched as the little man thrust his hand into his pouch to look for that infernal book he kept looking for. Vixen grinned widely and whistled to get his attention. "Perhaps this is what you're searching for little friend?" She asked, holding up a small leather bound volume. Delbin looked terribly surprised. Vixen smiled at him, "it's a good thing I found it for you... never know what kind of sticky fingers could have gotten their hands on it... " she said with a completely straight face.

Delbin scurried over to snatch it from her hand but Vixen held it aloft. "Could you perhaps check to see if you don't have a silver knife in that pouch of yours first hmmm?" She asked politely. Delbin looked intrigued by the question and thrust his hand into his pouch. He seemed genuinely surprised when he pulled out a silver dagger. "Aaahh yes," Vixen said handing over the book as she took the dagger, "funny that..." she slipped the dagger between her cleavage again. "Fascinating," she murmered... "he's really very good, pity he doesn't know he's even doing it..."

She turned to the bartender/maid and called out, "would you be so kind as to put the next round of drinks on me M'dear?" she said, "I'm most curious... you seem very capable pair, could I interest you in a small job?" She queried as the barmaid placed their fresh drinks before them. Vixen smiled gratefully and placed in her palm another gold coin. More than generous.

"M'lady, if you wish to know the details of my history, it is most breif", Dark asked. "Why not?", asked Vixen. "Okay, I am, as I believe I have said, a Dragonmancer, one of the few left. My homeland is Taros and my Emperor is Lokken, he has told me much about you. And let me assure you, all of it was good", he told her.

OOC: Hi, I'm not sure if you want vampires, but they're all I've really RPed and I've never down AD&D :) So if you don't want me to continue after the first post, yell.

IC:
A figure walked quietly towards toward the Inn,it was dressed in a long brown cloak that covered from head to toe, despite the warmth of the late afternoon. Rose sighed, grateful to see shelter. The last thing she really wanted was to spend another day in a cave or some such. She would much rather have been at "home" but a visit from a stupid vampire needing shelter had made her fly just in front of lynching mob.

"I hope they at least burned him at the stake...Stupid pup..." she muttered walking inside the inn.

OOC: Continue right along.

IC: A few thugs walked through the doorway."Hey, who's the pretty lady?", they asked Rose and Vixen."You two want to have a little banging in my room tonight, chiqitas?" they continued."Okay, that's it, let's take it outside", said Dark, standing up.

Rose raised an eyebrow at the thugs, wondering for a moment how they'd seen her gender through the damned cloak, but shrugged it off as a big interesting looking male seemed to decide to fight them over the comment. With a sigh she slipped away silently, the last thing she need now was a fight. In her current mood she'd probally kill the morons. People always underestimated her for some reason.

She pulled her cloak back to reveal a youthful face, she looked about 18, but her deep black eyes seemed to know too much for that age. Long curly black hair fell down her back to about her waist and made her snow white skin look even paler. Getting the bartender's attention she smiled a closed lip smile and asked about a room. He signaled a barmaid over as she paid and allowed herself to be lead up stairs. Rose surveyed the cozy little room as she asked the woman about a bath. She noded and said it would be brought up shortly.

Rose thanked her and pulled her cloak off to reveal the tight brown leather pants and loose white shirt she'd been wearing for days. Searching through the leather satchel she'd brought she pulled out a clean set of clothes almost identical to the ones she was wearing. She took quick invatory of her things and checked the dagger in her boot. She'd been a theif as a human and couldn't quite shake some habits. The bat arrived and Rose decided that everything else could wait as she quickly stripped and sank into the warm water.

Silak follwed Dark and the thugs ouside. As soon as they were outside. Dark let out an enormous dragon roar and transformed. The thugs were too stupid to run away, but instead pulled out their weapons. Vixen, Delbin, Rose, and the elves ran out of the bar.

ooc: ok, so maybe you don't rush outside, then.. look out your window, maybe?

ic:
though they were the furthest from the door, Galen and Kristia charged out just behind the rest of them. one of the thugs turned to attack Galen, prefering to face an elf over a big dragon-type thing any day. he didn't get very far. in a flash, Galen produced two small scimitars and sent them into a blur of motion as he breezed past the now one-armed and intestine-less thug.
he and Kristia, who had produced a regular-sized scimitar of her own, came to a sudden halt as they turned their attention forward towards Dark, taking in his transformed appearance for the first time, and watched slack-jawed as the thugs lived to regret their mistake (though not for all that long, anyway)

OOC: Ok...just thought I'd point it out to him.

IC:
Rose's ears perked at the sounds of fighting under her window. She sighed looking at the window she'd remembered to pin a blanket over earler. She could still feel the sun overhead.

With a sigh she finished her bath. Whatever it was she couldn't do anything till the sun set anyway. She dressed, feeling much better after the bath. Sitting on the bed she begin brushing her hair, figuring she could find out what happened when she went down stairs.

Sabaka looked into the eyes of his mule.
"You need a good combover, and your teeth need cleaning too."
He brushed her mane slowly, talking to her as if she understood, "Now, stay, right here. I will be back shortly."
Sabaka walked a few feet away, the mule gave out a grunt.
"Don't be like that, I have to go, please be good."
The mule gave him puppy dog eyes, but didn't move.
Sabaka walked down the path, soon he saw a modest looking building with a crowd gathering. Sabak smiled. He had some new material, and he loved to show it off to some new customers.
Then he saw why they were crowding outside. There was a huge creature and a couple of thugs getting ready to fight.
He could see there was already a man dead.
Sabaka swallowed, but it was dry. Those two thugs were going to get killed, even he knew that. He didn't know what to do, he was only an entertainer, not a wizard or a warrior.
Then, an idea hit him. It was very risky, he had only seen one other entertainer do it, many years ago, and even then he was in danger of his life.
Sabaka walked up into the crowd, then into the middle of the circle where the fighters were getting ready.
"Ladies and Gentlemen. LET"S GET READY TO RUMBLE..."
nobody laughed, he remembered the people on this planet didn't know that joke, he went on
"Good evening, I hope you all brought your swords, because tonight's event is going to be a killer..."
a few laughs, but he was just getting warmed up
"Fighting? Come on now. This is no place for a fight. We are outside, the weather could ruin that disposition you already have..."
a few more, this was getting good
"Come on guys," he put an arm around each of the thugs, as if they were old buddies, "Can't we all just get along?"
The crowd was laughing pretty heartily now
"now now now. A sword," he took it out of the guys hand, " A sword? How predictable. If you are going to beat such a big creature, you need a secret weapon,"he threw his sword into the forest, and put in his hand a toad, "There, now he will certianly croak..."
the audience broke out on that one, he could see someone was on the ground, it hurt soo good
"And what do we have here young man?" he took the axe from the other person hands, " I believe I am the one who is supposed to be axing the questions around here..."
the audience was booming, he could hear the echo from the forest
"This won't do," he threw the axe, looking at an attractive young woman in the audience, he walked up to her and put his arm around her neck "I threw an axe into the air, and where it lands, I do not care..."
this was going way better than he had at first thought, the audience was cracking up
"Now, you boys, picking on a huge demon, how dare you. I am going to have to tell your mommies," Sabaka took out the scissors, letting the laughter die down, "Besides, you need them to fix up you clothes, they are all dirty."
With that he cut their suspenders, both of the pants flew to the ground, revealing their underwear. Everyone squealed with laughter as the thugs ran away, Sabaka could almost hear them crying. He looked around, and bowed. There was cheering, and applauding. People threw coins, and tokens, and rings, just about anything they had for the dazzling display. Sabaka wiped his brow, that was close.
He grabbed up all the money and things, putting them in a small tattered sack. He could see the crowd was leaving, and the act he was going to tell would have to wait till later, there was nobody to tell it too.
Sabaka went into the tavern, there were a few things he needed to buy, and he didn't mind parching his throat first, after all that was a bit hard going out there.
He went up to the bar, sitting down.
"What'll it be?" the tender asked.
"How about a Peps..." Sabaka stopped, he knew there wasn't pepsi on this planet, at least not yet, "I will have some cider, yes, a mug of cider."
The tender returned with a huge mug of apple cider, Sabaka took a few coins from his bag but the tender waived him off, "This one's on the house, you probably saved me an hour of cleaning off blood outside. That my way of saying thanks."
Sabaka smiled, and raised his glass to the noble bartender, "Thank you kind sir."
The tender nodded, and went along to another customer.

Rose smirked listening to sounds of the fight being broke up outside. Finishing her hair she stood and stretched, wondering if she'd be able to get a meal downstairs or if she'd have to settle for animal blood again.

Walking downstairs she looked around a moment, then moved to the bar, ordering a glass of red wine.

Delbin quickly forgot the fight outside. He'se seen a thousand fights and a thousand dragons, but he's never seen a vampire before! Going up to her room, Delbin checks the door. Locked. Hmmmm. Delbin deceded to check the door again. Oh, that's better. as skilled a little thief he was, so was he at lockpicking. As he was about to walk in though, a big scaly arm picked him up. "Let'sss let thisss one be little one." and Silak carried a dissapointed delbin back down to the bar.

Rose glanced around the bar as she sipped her wine, relaxing slightly. She glanced around the room, a dragon-man and a smaller, shorter man were talking at a table, they seemed to be traveling companions.

"Quite a pair," she thought smiling and turning to the door as people came in from the fight.

Vixen's eyes sparkled with suppressed mirth after the entertainer's dramatic breaking up of the fight. Her look became very thoughtful. As Silak and Delbin seemed occupied with their drinks, she noted Delbin in particular seemed very put out as he tried to jump up and approach the Vampire, but was too slow for Silak's arm which would pluck him back and push him down onto his seat.

Vixen grinned at that and turned towards the bar. She approached almost silently as the man drank his cider. "Good Sir," she addressed him her voice calm and confident. Sabaka jumped in surprise, spilling some of his cider as he turned towards her. "Oh... hello..." he said with a smile. Vixen smiled back her deep blue eyes considering him carefully, Sabaka almost blushed at her open inspection of his person.

"You are very talented," Vixen noted.
"Why thank you... I make a decent living..."
"Indeed," she replied, "yes..." she said almost to herself... "you'll do very nicely." She lifted a finger to her cheek thoughtfully. She smiled brightly at his questioning look. "My name is Vixen, please tell me... where are you headed?"

Delbin giggled by what went on with Vixen and the other guy. His giggling however suprised Rose, as it came from directly behind her. "Hi, My names Delbin!" he extended a hand to be shoken. "Is it true your a vampire? I never met a vampire before. Though I did meet a dragon that ate mortals alive, and I guess blood is blood no mater how you get it, but that's not the same, is it?"

Daekinlaud Riverrunner (gods i haven't played her in ages...)

A tall elven woman with shimemring hair, blue at the root, purple in the middle, and pink at the bottom, blending itno the new colors, reaching to the floor. Her silvery shining eyes look around the room "Why, i'm home!" She dances over to her favorite couch and collapses down onto it, hanging ehr head over the edge. "Place still looks the same upsidedown!"

Dark turned himself back into a human and walked over to the entertainer.(Garret?)"Sir, I must buy you a drink. Not only did you stop from nameless slaughter, but you made me laugh at it. And I don't laugh often", he said throwing an arm around Garret and pulling him into the bar.

OOC: Shila, you must have been writing at the same time as I was, and you finished first.
