Sabaka blushed, it wasn't every day an entertainer got much recognition, yet it wasn't every day they put on a performance like that either.
"A drink? Sure," he said, "I will take another cider."
He looked back to the beautiful woman, "Vixen, it is a pleasure to meet you. I am heading for Eart..."
Sabaka paused, he didn't feel it was right to tell her his home planet, not just yet,
"I am heading to seek a wise man who is said to live somewhere near here."
Sabaka finished his cider just as the second one came. He raised his glass to Dark, "Cheers."
He looked at him, puzzled. Sabaka kept forgetting about his old world customs, "I mean, to our victory of the day."
Vixen Dark and Sabaka let out a heartily cheer and drank. Sabaka smiled.
"Why do you want to find a wise old man?"
Sabaka didn't tell her the whole truth, "It is a legend that he might know a way for me to get back home. I have been desperately trying to seek my world for a many years now."
Vixen patted his shoulders, sympathyzing with him. Dark pat him on the back too, "Don't worry, I am sure you will find it, best of luck."
Dark returned to his table, Sabaka thought he was a pretty nice guy, once you overlooked his size and teeth.
In the corner a small elf was sitting, the wrong way on a couch. Sabaka looked at the hair, she reminded him of someone. Sabaka thought, Rainbow Brite, thats it, with the hair and everything, he giggled to himself.
Sabaka turned his attention over to Vixen, "So, what were you talking about when you said that I would do nicely?"
He looked into her eyes, they were soo big and beautiful, a man could get lost in those.
Vixen smiled, completely unabashed. "Oh Goddess, did I say that out aloud?" Her blue eyes sparkling with mischief. "Never mind... " she paused and Sabaka realised he hadn't given his name yet.
"Sabaka... my name is Sabaka..."
"Sabaka..." Vixen tested the name and nodded, smiling again as if she approved. "An interesting name Sir, it means desert where I come from. I was wondering... I know of a wise person... that resides several hundred leagues from here, but seeing as you a searching for your home, then a few leagues shouldn't be a problem. It is on the way to where I am headed myself, it isn't easy travelling alone, perhaps you would do me the favour of being my travelling companion?" Vixen reached out her hand and with one finger, she traced his fingers holding the mug of ale. Sabaka shivered at the touch causing Vixen to smile again.
Delbin bumbed into Sabaka. "Oh, sorry. Say, did you say you were from earth? I'm from Krynn. I've heard about earth. is it true that there is no magic, gods, other species, and instead technology to make krynn's gnomes look like gully dwarves?"
dark stood up when he heard Delbin. He walked over to Sabaka. "You must let me accompany you to Earth. I have lost quite a few friends there. They accidentally stumbled into portals and were transported. One of them was small, about 4 to 6 feet tall, green, and had big eyes(wink wink)", Dark said.
Sabaka looked at all three of them, if he didn't know any better, he could have sworn they were about to go on an adventure. He shivered, the last adventure he was on landed him here, that stupid beam, if only he had reached the tower, but no, the beam went past the tower, to other worlds. He had remembered the old man's voice,
"there are other worlds than these..."
He looked at the three of them, "Well, I am not sure about our technology, but there isn't much to earth. We only have one inteligent species, and haven't made much contact with other planets. I suppose we are a bit lacking in that field."
He paused, "All right. You all want to see earth, I don't mind. I want to go home anyways."
He looked back at Vixen, still curious about what she had meant by he would do, "Can you take me... uhhhmmm us to where the old man lives?"
She finished her drink, then nodded. He was one step closer home...
Vixen nodded. Her smile enigmatic as she watched his curiousity peak at her earlier remark. Whenever you tell a person not to worry about something... they ALWAYS mull on it... she smiled to herself.
She stretched and yawned, covering her mouth daintily with one hand. "But first... sleep... do you have a room yet?"
Sabaka looked surprised, then he remembered his ride. Vixen noted the look in his eye. She placed a hand on his arm reassuringly. You have a horse or some such? They have a very good stable here... I know the stable hand personally... since you're helping me it's the least I can do to make sure you and your beast are cared for this night." Her tone brooked no discussion.
"Daekinlaud Riverrunner!" Vixen called out to the colourful elf... "it's been too long dear friend!" She grinned walking up to the half upside down woman.
ooc: [hope ya don't mind me knowing ya?... can i call you river for short?]
ic: Vixen clasped hands with the woman in the age old fashion of greeting. "What have you been up to old friend?" She asked... as she motioned to the barkeeper... "Good man... could you take care of this man's horse... add it to my account?" She finished with a smile... "he can stay in my room tonight... and a meal if you would for them both..."
The barkeeper nodded in understanding, Sabaka felt like he'd been swept up in a whirlwind... which in away he had... before he knew what was happening he was showing the stablehand where his friend was and he was served a delish meal, with directions on where his room was to be.
Vixen continued chatting with Daekinlaud. "It is a stroke of luck that you appear now! I am finally going to go on my changeling search... I have gathered a few possible fellow-travellers... but it would be a great joy and honour if you would accompany me..." Vixen lowered her voice to a whisper... "do you know much about Vampires?" She asked... indicating Rose sitting alone fending off Delbin's many questions... "I am thinking she also would be an asset on the journey..."
OOC: Sorry was away from the comp for an entire day (got the shakes).
Still OOC: I hope Deblin's still near me...I think he is...
IN: Rose smiled, barely managing not to flash fang. Not that it seemed to matter to the midget that was talking twice as fast as she could blink. She, as of yet, couldn't really find a place to but in, so she listened to him ramble. She was reminded of a stable girl she'd had back home. Beutiful, intelligent, but her mouth ran faster then her brain. Years of talking to herself she'd claimed. Luckily the town mute adored her.
She focused in suddenly as Deblin seemed to take a breath.
"Hi, I'm Rose," she said in an amused tone, waiting for his chatter to begin again.
Delbin toon in a deep breath to ask a lot of more questions when Rose said hello. He then opened his mouth to start talking again when Silak said "Take a breath Delbin". The Kender imediatly shut his mouth to wait for rose to speak.
I look up at you. "Vixen? No way! Mon amie!" I hop up from my seat on the couch. I hug her and grin, not believeing my luck. "What are you here for? My sister..."
"I am Silak, a faithborn Sivac Draconian."
"When your dead" started Delbin, answering her latter question "you can see every world. most people prefered to watch their loved ones, but I liked to explore. I had 1200 years in the afterworld to explore before I was restored to life, and I saw a few things about vampires. Connecting you to their species was no problem."
"He claimsss to have participated in the secind dragon wars, and though the sstoriesss do talk about a Delbin traveling with the famousss minotaur Kas, I believe he isss jussst pretending he is him."
"A am TO the delbin from the stories. I can tell you Exactly what the greyman looked like. And the stories NEVER said anything about a greyman!"
I wave at the two from my spot in the air, then look at Vixen. "Have you been having fun without me?" I ask teasingly. She laughs and we walk back over to the kender and draconian. "Better acqauainted, now?"
For some reason my presence makes you all feel happy, like I'm just a child who wants to play. Vixen suddenly wants to make new friends, but the kender feels no different. (*grin*)
"Nice to meet you, Silak." Rose nodded slightly, sipping her wine as she considered the kenders answer. She smiled slightly as Deblin continued to defened himself, then nodded to the newcomers.
I bow and introduce myself as Daekinlaud Riverrunner, but that you may call me Daek. "I see we're having fun over here?" I say, smiling at the kender and pulling my dagger out of his hands. "Cap'n Quickfingers..."
Rose flinched ever so slightly in understanding of Deblin's words. Being a theif had been a must, she did it or she starved. Not many people seemed to care though.
Until one rich-looking man had taken her under his wing...Not that she minded, looking back. Still, she'd never imagined she'd become a vampire the day Thorn had rescued her from a beating....
With a shake of her head she drew herself back to reality with a sigh.
"Hey! I'm not a thief!" delbin said, guessing what she was thinking. "I don't steal anythign! If someone dropps their things, then I allways try to return them. If someone puts something in my pouch, then it's a gift, but I NEVER steal!"
Sabaka heard them talking, not really into the conversation. He was finally going home. Now he sould start his quest over again, and do it right.
He was handed a plate of food, he didn't recognize most of it. A meat of some sort, and then there was something grayish mush that he could only assume was a potato thing. Sabaka ate it all though, as weird as it was, it was equally delicious.
With the food complete Sabaka went to Vixen, she seemed nice, almost too nice. Since he had left earth almost everyone has either tried to kill him, or threatened to kill him, or was thinking about killing him. Sabaka didn't know about her though, maybe she was telling the truth.
"Yeah and maybe monkeys might fly out of my butt?"
Excuse me?" a woman asked him.
"Oh, I am sorry, talking to myself. Hello I am Sabaka."
She nodded, "I am Rose."
He looked at her, there was something familiar about her, he swore he didn't recognize her face, but she was still familiar to him.
Sabaka bowed to her, then turned back to Vixen, "So, what now?"
