The Bermuda Triangle Expedition

Proffessor Joel Thorne

"Five minutes Proffessor Thorne and counting," said Captain Bergssen, counting down the time to which the Bermuda and the people on board would enter the renowned Bermuda Triangle.

"Thankyou Captain," responded Joel. He had kept his eyes pasted on the horizon to the north watching the streaming clouds get closer. To the south of their position lay the Bermuda Triangle and it was still sunny in that direction. The clouds were getting closer as if reaching out to touch the vessel. The winds were steadily picking up, however they were out pacing the storm at this time, so that the winds decreased and picked up at odd intermittant intervals.

But Joel felt safe in the hands of Olaf Bergssen and his capable crew. The Captain was a veteran in these parts, had sailed these passages of the Carib for many many decades. That was the main reason for Joel hiring Olaf and also that he was a likeable chap.

"Excuse me."

Joel turned shaken from his musings watching the horizon and realised Jim had arrived. Joel smiled and Jim continued.

"Perhaps I am being overcautious but maybe we should meet in the control room, the decks will be treacherous when the rain and wind arrives."

Joel was about to respond, but let Captain Bergssen answer. Of course the Captain was better able and experienced. The ship, the safety of crew and passengers were in the hands of the Captain.

"Hi there Jim, we will head below deck as soon as we cross into the Bermuda Triangle. Here's a chance for all those willing or wanting to be part of a unique event....crossing into an unexplainable region on this planet that defies logic and science," the Captain responced with a slight bemused smile at the end of his unique answer.

The Captain checked an instrument and said in his business like manner..."Two minutes to Bermuda crossover."

At the Captain's comment, he heard movement from behind him and crooked his head around to the side and watched the frame of Mikhail walk toward him, Olaf and Jim.

Joel could only take in the sight of Mikhail and he realised then and there what a real beauty, a gem in a ocean of pearls she was. His eyes greedily took her frame in up and down. He took in her curves, her movements and her bare flesh of her stomach. Somewhere in the back of his mind, Joel heard a inner voice cry out to take her back to his cabin and take her, but Joel silenced that voice, although he wished he could do that.

Joel watched her wink at him and he smiled back to Mikhail before she spoke to Jim.

"Proffessor, any time now we will crosss."

Joel's attention was brought back to the present by the deep voice of Captain Bergssen.

He looked over the edge and watched a pod of dolphins swim along and jump at intervals alongside the vessel.

And then at that moment Joel felt it. He felt the change in the air and internally his mind knew they had crossed. He watched as the dolphin pod seemed to stop dead and turn and swim fast the other way. The hairs on his neck and arms stood up as he felt the fissures of electrical energy in the air. The wind had died down and along the vessel everyone stopped talking and a silence decended..... a deep silence. Joel gripped the rails tightly, his knuckles going white from the strain. My God's, we're here, he said to himself.

"Ladies and Gents and fellow crew, we have crossed into the Bermuda Triangle." Captain Berggsen's voice cut through the silence like a sharpe knife. Joel exhaled deeply. The sea around them was calm, no wind, calm except for close to the ship.

Joel's broken voice full of emotion as he struggled to find the words came out as he turned a tear of happiness mixed with tension streamed down his right cheek. "Finally...after so long....I....We made it. We are here...."

He choked back the ball of emotion down his throat. "We are in the....Bermuda Triangle!"

Mikhail

She’d seen the small school of herring darting before the pod of dolphins heading back from where the boat had come from.

She’d watched the eyes of her fellow crewmates take in the swift reversal of the dolphins, wondering if anyone else had seen the cause and judged by the looks on several faces that they hadn’t. She’d hidden the smile that had threatened her lips with the soft tingle of apprehension and premonition the “fleeing” dolphins had created and then…

She’d felt it. With an absolute clarity, she’d felt it. Like they’d gone through a barrier, the fine hairs on her body standing on end. A small stutter in her own breathing, her thoughs scattering for a moment in superstitious frenzy. The death of the wind and the birth of an intense silence amongst the watchers were the signs that told her they’d all felt it.

Her mind slipped away a moment, to sailing parties of the past, and Michaels penchant for making love as the sun rose. They’d always striven for climax at the moment of the green flash, its effects, similar to what she’d just felt culminating in a release so breathless it left them gasping and mindless for long moments afterwards.

Her eyes slip to Joel’s, her body responding wantonly to the moment and her breath catches deep inside. She watches, mesmerized, the slow trickle of tears down his cheek, her feet padding across the deck to his side with no conscious thought.

“We are in….the Bermuda Triangle!” the raw emotion, in his voice, in his body language only adds fuel to her own feelings, her smile radiant before him, her eyes a brilliant conflagration of the moment, the sensuality between the two of them, and her own yearning wish to be deep in his arms once again.

She turns her head, gazing out to sea, trying to hide the fury of her response before turning with a soft cry of affirmation to the rest of the group.

"We made it!"

Jim

Jim had wondered what the apprehension and intensity of the moment was all about. He had crossed this point many times before coming along the coast of South America from Rio or the Netherlands Antilles. North, looping west or east to Florida or along the eastern seaboard. to Norfolk Virginia. he knew the sea was unpredictable in this area but so was the North Atlantic or the Baltic. The seas and oceans of the world had their own odd behaviors and idiosyncrasies. Even the great lakes could be treacherous for the unprepared. The Bermuda was well equipped and had a seasoned crew. He had no doubt about their ability to weather any storm or confront any unknown event.

It was that frame of mind that he was in as he looked skyward. It was a beautiful night, a million stars dotted the solar landscape above them. A waning moon on the port bow followed them on the starboard stern as they headed in a South Westerly direction. He felt sense of anticipation that he saw in the others eyes until he heard the soft cry from Michail. “We made it”.

He looked in her direction where she stood expectantly alongside of Joel as if expecting him to share something profound with her. Then he felt a sudden lurching of the ship, as if a force of great magnitude had lifted it out of the water momentarily and then dropped it just as quickly. He searched his memory for an occasion in his nautical memory that was similar remembering the experience of an earthquake off the coast of Chile near Valparaiso. But there was no history of earthquakes in the Caribbean. If this were an earthquake it was unprecedented. The lurching action had caused the ship to pitch to Port and Jim instinctively braced himself. Unfortunately Michael was unprepared and stumbled towards the rail. Jim caught her by the arm and steadying her brought her close to him, his arm high around her waist. her back to him.

“Brace yourself now.” he cautioned, as he knew another motion from the ship to right itself was soon to follow.

He felt her tense against him, the warmth of her backside against his groin, for a moment savoring the feeling of arousal. His arm felt the soft underside curve of her breasts and his face felt the pulse in her neck as she leaned her head back against him. Resisting the urge to nuzzle her neck with his mouth, he concentrated on keeping her from falling. Together they counterbalanced their weight against the next pitch and the three or four smaller ones until the ship gained its own equilibrium.

He reached again for her as she took a tentative step away from him, and discovering she could stand on her own looked up at him. "Thanks, Jim." she said breathlessly , I ....

"No problem." Jim replied hurriedly looking away suddenly feeling a sense of aloneness. He looked into the night sky again, The solitude of the night sky at sea usually was a comforting feeling for him. Tonight he felt something different, a terrible sense of aloneness. Was that why he clung so tightly to Michail? Why he didn’t want to let her go? What did all this mean? Maybe the event that just took place had some hidden purpose, some precursor to events that would be taking place now that they had entered the Triangle.

“Triangle.” Jim rolled the word around in his mind thinking of himself, Michail and Joel, another triangle that might have to be dealt with in the next six months.

The sudden lurch of the ship was as unexpected as anything could have been. One moment she was submersed in the emotion of the moment, sharing a breathless rapport with Joel and the next she was stumbling gracelessly toward the railing. Her momentum hadn’t really been much but it had startled her nonetheless and Jim’s strong warm arm banding around her waist had startled her. Her reaction to him even more so.

The press of him, warm and instantly aroused against the full curves of her bottom made the breath catch in her throat, the hard muscles of his thighs tensing against hers, his chest teasing her back and shoulders making her fully aware of him as a man…rawly aware of his masculinity.

She cursed the empathy that swamped her as she stepped away from him feeling the loneliness, the arousal and the reluctance to let her go, wanting to turn and wrap her arms around him.

She shook herself mentally, smiling wryly at the thoughts and considerations flooding her mind. To little sex for far too long, she mused. Looking over at Joel, remembering the conservative boy she’d known in school she compared that to the new man that stood before her. Many changes, big and small, along the way…but…she shrugged confused with the direction her thoughts had taken.

With a shaken smile at Joel, at Jim, at the rest of the crew and team members she slipped away to the solitude of her cabin, her mind a frenzy of roiling thoughts.

Proffessor Joel Thorne

And the goal of one Joel Thorne had been achieved. He had lived to see and infact witness that event. The planning, the funding, the incessant harranguing for support and funding had come down to this very event and point in time. If all those people, and there were many could see this image, this event, they would not argue with Joel about the problems and dangers of the expedition. Their denial, had spurred him on. And now they were....in the Bermuda Triangle.

Day 1

He watched the Dolphins swim away from the edge of the Triangle. The waters around them so calm. So beautiful. Proffessor Thorne turned to the others and the Captain. A number of the crew had stopped what they were doing and had come to the rail and looked out. Around them, as far as they could see to the eye, the sea was calm, dead calm.

"We are in the Bermuda Triangle!" Joel Thorne says with conviction. His voice seemed to echoe once or twice with clarity. Joel turned and met the glance of Mikhail. He softly smiled. They smiled at each other and he saw in her eyes that raw emotion of wanton lust and desire. Joel's hands shook and he leaned back on the railing.

"We made it!" Mikhail exclaimed in a clear affirmative voice. Joel nodded.

He knew like him, each person whether part of the expedition or crew had their own images and thoughts rolling through their minds. Then he felt it, no....correction they all felt it. A lurching of the ship, by a force. Luckily his hands found the railing and he held on. Some of the crewmen were not as lucky, some falling into the dark waters overboard.

And then he felt it....his eyesight diminished.....blackened. A sharp pain in his head followed by a drilling sound splaying through his mind. Somewhere, somehow he felt the vessel lurch again and once more....more....and finally one last time. His eyesight started to clear like a overcast sky with the rising of a new sun.

He heard the whispers of Jim and Mikhail and as his eyesight cleared he saw her stepping away from him. A feeling boiled forth...one of sorrow...of deep sorrow. Was anyone else feeling that feeling? Joel's breathing became steady again as the force left him. The strange and inexplicable force that had taken hold of him. One word, played out in his mind....Triangle....triangle. And again that feeling of sorrow fell awash over him.

You fool, you stupid fool. She looked past you when you were in college, and what makes you so different now? You will always be the one who loses out. Hear me, feel the sorrow that is me.

Joel heard that voice, his voice, but oh so not familar. And as he watched Mikhail walk away, the blackness in his mind returned. As the ship lurched one more time, his balance was lost and he fell back slipping across the railing....he then felt the air around him....then felt the slap of the cold embrace of the water....and the last thing Joel thought was of his parents and his last hug with both of them.

Joel felt darkness decend around him and he lost conciousness.

The Expedition Control Hub

As the Bermuda vessel crossed into the Triangle, the equipment and computer monitors studied and monitored and recorded the Bermuda Triangle.

The two red dots that appeared on the directional monitor coalesced as one and moved quickly toward the vessel.....It seemed to blink 5 times and then vanish as it reached the vessel.

Then calm decended.....and the recording progressed onwards.

Proffessor Joel Thorne

It began as an ethereal experience, the darkness that overcame him was not death, but a portal. And he saw beyond the portal and the grand design of the Bermuda Triangle.

A picture formed of the Nazca plain drawings in south America, massive yet mysterious pictures of bird and animal life on Earth and a few drawings that could not be explained. Joel saw them from a distance and from the top down view. He was sure they were glowing. And from a distance a sound totally alien sounded and the images that he saw through the portal dissolved and re-imaged into the view of the Bermuda vessel.

"I want to live. I cannot die, it cannot be that I must die having reached the pinnacle of my life? I want to survive....to live!"

The blackness returned as the portal dissolved and he opened his eyes too see himself submerging underneath the still calmness of the water. No! I want to live. And he reached up with all his remaining stamina and his fist pierced the waters then his face.

"Throw me a....line. Help me," he called out.

For Joel's work was not yet done. There were many mysteries unfolding and many more to unfold.

Mikhail

She’d seen the look on Joel’s face but hadn’t understood it, her own feelings a ragged turmoil of emotions. As she reached her cabin she felt…something…and intuition sent her scurrying back upon the deck, searching for Joel’s familiar form in a frenzy of panic.

She saw him stumble, saw him topple over the rail and the agonized shout that escaped her came out as little more than a whisper the first time. She gathered herself and glanced around the deck, panicked, looking for crewmembers.

“Oh, Captain, please,” her wail was enough to bring him scurrying over, concern darkening his brown eyes,” Joel, he went over the side. Please, save him!”

Orders were relayed with a precision and a swiftness that took her breath away, the ship stopping and both smaller boats launched and searching within minutes.

She stood frozen on the deck her eyes scanning the azure waters apprehensively until she heard the shout, the confirmation that they had him, her heart blooming with a warmth and gratitude that swamped her, filling her eyes with tears. As they brought him up, over the side she sank down beside him.

“Oh Joel,” the soft whimper, of pain, of fright and something more, rang quietly between them.

Lydia

OOC: Nope, not even going to try to explain where I have been for so long.

IC: Lydia had missed crossing over the Bermuda Triangle. She had been making her way up to the top when the ship had lurched and she had missed a step, losing her balance. By the time she had made it topside, they had crossed and it looked like chaos was in force.

Stepping up to the rail, she peered over just as a call came that Joel was safe.

Shaking her head, her mouth set in a grim line, she said,"If I believed in omens..." And left the sentence unfinished.

Proffessor Joel Thorne

"There he is!" Captain Bergssen pointed, straight away bellowing orders to his crew. Two things simultaneously happened within seconds of each other, the vessel came to a stop and four crewmen brought out a rubber dingy that was used for these types of rescues and exploring shallow coral reefs and sand rifts.

"Hurry up lads! He'll drown," said the Captain. The crew men tied a rope mooring to a end of the dingy and then two crew men held onto its ends. The other two tossed the dingy into the calm waters below. These same two descended the ladder and took to paddling over to the waving Proffessor.

"We're on our way," shouted one of the crewmen, as they reached Joel. They both pulled him into the dingy. And that is when Joel first say the fin cut through the azure coloured water....with a wretching cough, Joel tried to shout, his voice coming out more like a gasping fish out of water. "Sh...a..r..kkkkkk!" he finally managed to scream out.

"Oh shit," swore the same crewman, pulling out of his pocket a whistle. The fin was coming closer and just as they thought the shark would try to topple them over, its fin descended meters from the prone dingy back into the depths. The crewman breathed in deeply and whistled. And the two holding the dingy rope began to wrench them in.

Some time later.....

Safely back onboard the vessel, with the support of the two crewmen, Joel finally collapses exhausted onto the deck. Breathing deeply and raggedly, Joel fought to steady his beating heart and his fast breathing. He tried to sit up but needed more time to steady himself. The wet clothing clung to him making him weight another tonne.

He opened and closed his eyes, trying to refocus his eyesight, and remove the water that had clouded his eyes. The blackness that had made him fall, had not reappeared and Joel was grateful for that one fact. Next to him, came the worried Mikhail.

“Oh Joel,” she said as she sat next to him.

Joel smiled softly at her. "I am alright, a bit of water can't kill me."

Their eyes met momentarily and they shared a connection, in her eyes Joel could see the roiling feelings she felt and he began to understand what made Mikhail as special as she was.

Finally he felt strong enough to sit up and looked around, coughing before talking. "Folks.....we have no idea what....(cough) caused those movements under the ship. Be.....vigilant, try not to be alone for....extended period of times."

With that said, Joel stood up, his hands taking the wall as support, waiting till he was steady on his feet. "Let's....continue," he said to all. He managed a smile. To the Captain he said "Captain, I will go change then I will be in the control hub room, if I...am needed." He turned to the rest. "Thankyou for saving me."

Joel didn't wait for a responce, turning with one hand on the wall, he walked down the vessel towards his cabin for a change of clothes and a small think before returning to duty at the hub.

As he walked down the gangway, he could intuitively feel the beautiful eyes of Mikhail on his back.

(OOC: Welcome back BEL *HUG*)

Jim

OOC: Nope I'm not going to ask you to explain why you've been gone so long, I'm just going to say welcome back, BEL.

IC:
Jim had watched, as if from a distance, the fateful events that had just unfolded. It had been as if he were dreaming, alone unattached from the surreal scene around him. Mikhail had slipped away from him virtually disappearing. Silently he tried to hold her with his mind, with his wish to keep her by his side, but to no avail, all that was left was the warmth where her body had touched his, and this terrible feeling of aloneness.

He looked for a sign of anyone being here with him feeling again that sense of utter aloneness he had felt before. “Lydia!”. he shouted her name silently. It seemed like such a long time since he had seen her last, everything seemed to be moving in slow motion. Minutes, hours days seemed to flow together. Time ceased to exist. He felt a sense of impending danger, which jarred him from his trance. The after shock! another tremor typical of an earthquake, he looked for Joel to warn him but he only stared openmouthed as if he couldn’t speak to him, or maybe he didn’t want to help him. The thought made his body quake in repulsion yet he could not speak. The final lurching of the ship had caused Joel to fall overboard, Jim hadn’t even moved a muscle to help. Even as the crew had prepared to rescue him, he remained immobile..

Now as they brought Joel aboard, Jim held back He was relieved that he had been saved, somehow he felt that it would have been his fault if Jole had not been saved, thinking that maybe even a subconscious wish for Joel to be ‘out of the way’ had kept him from inaction. Now that Joel was safe he relaxed and seeing Mikhail comforting him turned his attention elsewhere.

Lydia had come on deck. He found himself being drawn to her side.

Lydia

OOC: Thanks everyone

IC: Lydia breathed a sigh of relief as Joel was taken onboard. She smiled as she watched Mikhail and the Proffessor. There was definately something between those two.

She turned toward Jim and frowned at the way he was looking at the couple. As if he was not very pleased about it at all.

"Oh oh," She thought and tossed her head. They didn't need any triangles of that kind on this mission.

As Joel moved down to get cleaned up, she grabbed Mikhail's arm. "You might want to go with him and make sure he's okay. If you need us...."

She left the sentence unfinished and turned back to Jim, looking him up and down.

"Want to talk?" She said in a quiet voice, letting him know that he could say anything he wanted to her without fear of recriminations.

Mikhail

She’d been wavering back and forth between running to Joel’s side as he made his way down the gangway and holding her ground, giving him a little bit of room. Lydia’s words and her gentle shove made her mind up for her.

She ran after the man that made her heart beat so…even before she’d thought she’d lost him forever and found him just entering his cabin.

“Joel…” she stood outside looking a little uncertain as he glanced back at her. The smile on his face and the warm light in his eyes washed away the last of her uncertainty and she threw herself into his powerful arms, wrapping hers hands around his neck and pressing her lips against the nape of his neck.

“Oh God,” her body quivered with the emotions that surged through her, the words coming out a sob,” I thought I’d lost you…forever Joel....forever.."

Proffessor Joel Thorne

Joel slowly went down the gangway steps which led to the hallway of the cabins for the expeditionary members. His was closes to the steps and as he put his left hand on the door handle to open it he heard that voice....he heard Mikhail.

“Joel…” she whispered and he barely heard, but he did hear. Slowly Joel turned and looked at Mikhail and he saw her beauty, her presence and her sweet smile. Joel let go of the door handle and smiled at Mikhail. He only held warmth in his eyes and his soul for Mikhail.

He turned and faced her and silently as he opened his arms to her, she ran into his embrace. Joel held her, as if he was afraid to lose her again. He breathed in her fragrance, reminding him of sweet lilacs. He gripped Mikhail to him, making sure she felt his resolve for her. Hidden in this embrace was the way he had felt for her for a long time.

I thought I’d lost you…forever Joel....forever.." Her voice a sob.

His hands parted her from him and Joel looked into the face of a perfect angel. "Mikhail, now you know how i felt ever since college. I....never got over you...." With that sentence said he leaned down onto her lips and kissed her with every ounce of repressed feeling he had. His arms held Mikhail to him.

Jim

Her tone of voice and her soft smile gave Jim the feeling that he could tell Lydia anything that was on his mind. He looked in her eyes hoping to see an affirmation of that feeling. He saw it and he wanted to share, he needed to share but yet he held back this feeling of aloneness that had overcame him and still persisted even in her presence, this feeling of needing to hold her in his arms feel the assurance of a physical connection with a woman. He felt that more than words were needed to dispel the emptiness.

“Get a hold of yourself,” he said silently. “Even if your body is crying for physical closeness to validate your existence, you know better than to expect someone you barely know to accept and return that need. What she thinks you need means words first and then maybe..."

But the words did not come, he needed first to feel the comfort and warmth of her warm body to share a physical connection before he could project an emotional one.

Instead he spoke of events instead of feelings, as he led her to the side of the ship which now remained still in the calm waters around them. He told her about his experience in the Navy, off the coast of Chile, how the earthquake that struck Valpariso had lifted the ship clear out of the water, or so it seemed. Later they were to find out that the city had been devastated by the shock, many were lost and days later when they pulled into port many of the people who were still alive roamed the streets in desperation, their homes, their families, their friends dead or missing. He saw the desperation in their eyes and felt his heart going out to them but was helpless to do anything to relieve their suffering as the ship stayed only long enough to take on fuel.

He told her that knowing that it wasn’t an earthquake that had caused the ship to flounder didn’t make the situation any better. The fear of the unknown was even worse. Now as he looked over the side and saw the coral reefs alongside and below, he wondered aloud if they had struck them but he quickly added that he knew better, the clear water made the reef appear close but it was more than fifty feet down, safe enough for the ship to pass over. He pointed to the east toward what he thought to be the Atlantic and explained how the circle of lighter colored water meant the reef surrounded a deeper area of water much like the underwater atolls in the pacific ocean. He hesitated and then went on to explain that the reef was caused by an underwater volcano probably extinct for sometime suddenly he said. “There were no atolls in the Caribbean either. Maybe something on the computer screens would tell them more, maybe they should go to the control room.” he told Lydia. He was due there for the watch at 1600 hours anyway.

It was then that he realized it should be pitch dark! yet it was broad daylight! He looked at the sun, now high in the sky. “Oh dear God he groaned he looked at Lydia and told her. “High noon, the time it would be in the middle of the pacific midway between Peru and the Hawaiian Islands.

Unable to believe in his own existence much less that of Lydia’s who stood next to him, her face contorted in fear, he reached out and pulled her into his arms.

OOC:I hope this post doesn't interfere with your plans Petar, if it does, Jim could have struck his head and be halucinating. lol

Proffessor Joel Thorne

Joel parted from the kiss, his lips lingered along Mikhail's warm full lips as if relunctant to end that kiss. Softly Joel disentangled himself and looked at her softly, his voice slightly cracking.

"I....need to...check the equipment in the control hub. When I was in the water, Mikhail, I saw something, a vision or an image of some sort. I need to check it out, it may be important....."

His fingers slowly brushed along her lips as his wet frame heated by their joining of bodies together gently parted away from her.

"I willl....see you later....I promise Mikhail," with that said, Joel turned down the gangway and headed along it striding purposely away. His mind was a mixture of emotion, thoughts of what he had seen mixed with deep etched feelings for Mikhail. One part of him needed to separate himself away from her, but a minor yet vocal part wanted him to turn back and stay with Mikhail.

He climbed up the stairs to the hallway that ended at the door of the expeditionary control hub. Opening the door to the hub, Joel was greeted with darkness all except the flickering of dim control screens.

Joel shut the door behind him and turned on the room lights, pitched brightness flowed from the bulb into the room, and for a second Joel's eyesight was blinded. Only for a second.

He sat down infront of his still connected lab-top and started to go through the mission data already collected and stored. Joel was only faintly aware that the 1400 hour was approaching.

As the vessel sails further into the Bermuda Triangle and the crew and expedition members continue on with what they do, they do not realise what is happening around them.

Day turns to night, as the Bermuda Triangle begins to power up. From the east against the horizon where it was once clear, a thick dark shape begins to form. At first it has no shape, it is forming. As the shape begins to roll toward the vessel, closer and closer its shape spreads, and the people on the ship watch as a cloud of mist, so inpenetrable comes toward the ship, tendrils reaching out as if to say to all who see, 'we have you now'.

The mist rolls and envelops the vessel. No visibility, only the deep silence befalls the ship.

(no worries slowandeasy, didnt disrupt any plans. Cheers)

Mikhael

She understood the confusion that painted his features as he turned away from her, the mix of yearning and the need to escape. She felt the same conflicted emotions deep inside herself, never expecting to respond as fully, as heatedly as she was nor, in her wildest dreams, to have the feelings reciprocated.

She turned back toward her own cabin stripping the clothes off her body as she closed the door, peeling the drenched garments off in a bemused daze. Dropping the damp silk of her skirt over the chair, feeling the wet cling of her blouse pull away from her skin with a soft sucking sound, she dropped it next to the skirt and stared about her in a preoccupied daze.

How could she feel this much for a man she hadn’t seen in years? How could it be so strong, so powerful and so delicious? Her fingertips ran lightly over the sheer silk of her bra, finding it’s front clasp and releasing it, the full sway of her breasts, unrestrained drawing a soft exclamation from her, her hardened, sensitive nipples catching against the under wire, raking against its edge with exquisite shimmer of sensual delight.

“Sheesh Mika, you’re acting like a teenager,” her softly whispered admonition bought a flush to her cheeks even as her fingers reach for the damp silken scrap between her thighs, resisting the temptation to do more than remove them.

She gathered dry things, setting them on the foot of her bed, musing over Joel. Her first impulse was to follow him, to query him on what it was that had him so excited, but common sense told her he needed some breathing space. She looked at the clothes on her bed, pulling on the soft cotton t-shirt before settling down on top of the soft duvet. She placed her head on the pillow, stretching out like a cat with a quiet purr of satisfaction, her mind replaying his words, over and over, like a mantra.

“I…never got over you…” the husky, breathless fervor of his voice rang through her imagination even as her eyes fluttered closed, her breathing slow and even as she drifted off into sleep.

Lydia

OOC: Sorry once again for being away so long. RL has me so busy that posting has not been an option. Will try to post more regular like...*sighs*

IC: Lydia's eyes go wide as Jim's arms go around her and she lets him hold her for a moment, realizing he needs the contact but then she gently slips from his grasp.

Smiling up at him, a sadness in the smile as well as her eyes, she says,"Listen, I know that something happened here with Mikhail and Joel and you. And I am more than willing to listen...as a friend...but..."

She bit her lip, not wanting to hurt him any more than he had by Mikhail chosing Joel over him.

"But I don't do the rebound thing," She said with a shrug, somehow wishing she hadn't been second choice in his life as well as a choice made because of rejection.

Laying a hand on his arm, she added,"Come on. Let's get a drink and have a talk. If it doesn't make you feel better at least it might dull the heartache."
