The Bounty Hunters'

David

David was riding his horse harder than he should be ridden over the terrain that it was on but he had to make it to the Dupree house quickly and give him the letter. He wanted to know what it said but he had told by Mark not to open it. He knew better than to cross Mark, especially after what he had done. He wondered what was going to happen when he got to the house, was he going to be killed?

Then suddenly out of nowhere he spotted a large house on the horizon and saw a road leading towards it. He reined his horse in that direction and rode towards the house, smiling when he saw a ranch appearing and knew that he had come upon his destination. He rode towards it and was stopped at the front gates by what looked like a guard, a rifle in his hands.

The man looked at David and said, "You are wanted here. Turn around and go back to where you came from."

"I'm here to give a message to Vincent Dupree. It's from Mark Dalton. Now let me through."

The guard looked at David with a slight smile then said, "Well if you do have a message from Mark Dalton then I should take you to the boss but if you don't then I will take you to him and let him decide how you should die."

Jaspers

He awoke in the morning sun. Taking of his hat, he felt the heat on his face, warming his bones. With a groan, he pulled himself up and off his blanket. Stretching himself, he climbed up the rise which hid the town from his sight.

"Looks totally different in the light." He mused. At the last minute, he had decided to spend the night outside town. He never was too comfortable going into a strange town at night. He had no reason to feel different about Tumbleweed. He swallowed and still found his mouth dry.

"Dang it! I need that drink."

Packing up his blanket, he got on his horse and rode into town.

Guard

OOC: I'll play the role of the guard as i dont think anyone said that they would do it:

IC:

Looking up into the sky and seeing the sun beat down on the Colorado land I knew it was going to be another hot one. Good thing I had a small shack that I could retreat to and if I had to make it back to the main house in a hurry I could get on my trusty horse "Whiskers".

Just then in the distance I see a horse come barrelling up the road heading right for the gate. No one else is with the rider so I stand at the gate with my weapon drawn ready for anything. The rider pulls on the reins as the horse comes to a stop and looking at the rider I see its David Dalton. I think to myself wondering what one of the Dalton's would be doing here. He mumbles something about a letter from Mark Dalton but I see no letter in his hands.

So I say, "Well if you do have a message from Mark Dalton then I should take you to the boss but if you don't then I will take you to him and let him decide how you should die."

I move over to my horse and mount him and tell David to follow me to where Vincent is at. I first go to the barn and tell Jimmy that I have to take a rider to the branding and ask him to get someone else to watch the front gate and then we ride off to the farthest corner of the ranch.

David

David looked at the guard skeptically but he knew that he should also follow this man as that is what he was told to do by Mark. He watched as the man got up onto his horse then go to the barn and say something to the person there. David looked around the area, wondering just how many people there were watching him at the moment and he knew that if he was to draw a weapon right now he would be killed before he could even pull back the hammer.

He looked at the guard and said, "Thank you. I know that you don't trust me right now but I can say that I am not here to kill your boss- far from it."

Guard

As we rode over the ridge I looked down into the valley and spotted where we needed to go. The cattle was being herded into the pen that was set up for the branding. You could see that they were letting a few of the cattle out and then they would rope them and brand them with the hot poker leaving the ranch logo on the side of the cattle.

As we rode up to where Vince was standing we slowed right down.

I jumped off of my horse just before David got there and ran over to Vince telling him that David Dalton had an envelope for him. Vince asked me who was looking after the front gate and I told him that Jimmy was going to put someone there. Vince told me to wait until he found out what David had for him.

Vincent

The branding was going as planned. I figured that it should only take a few more days to brand all of them. While I was standing watching these guys I noticed one of the guards coming towards us with someone trailing behind him. I wondered who was standing guard at the front gate. As he approached and got off of his horse he came running up to me telling me that David Dalton had an envelope for me. I asked him who was watching the front gate and he told me that he had asked Jimmy to find someone. I then told him to wait until I was finished with David as I needed to ask him something else.

I turned to David as he rode up on his horse. He dismounted it and walked up to me. All of the ranch hands watched him in case there was going to be trouble, hands on their guns ready for anything.

Red

Riding along the scenery was beautiful out here. It wasn't to long before we were on the outskirts of town, an idea had popped into my head I turned to Joe "The map.....couldn't we take it to Father Thomas? He travels to some of the different towns collecting things for the needy people of Tumblweed. We could at least take the map to him and see if he can help us out." With her nod of aproval we hurried the horses.

Once in town we rode until we reach church. Climbing from our horses we walked up to the church and on in through the front doors calling softly "Father Thomas?"

"Yes, yes, coming."
Thomas sneezed, crawling down from the ladder. So much dust up in the attic. He had found a whole crate of candles that apparently had gone lost over a year ago. Covered in cobwebs and layers of dust, it was enveloped into his hands.
"Regular service isn't today, it's tomorrow. If you wish to pay your respects I suggest you do..."
He dropped the crate on the front pew, his hands on his hips.
"So," he gave them each a hard stare, looking at their guns still holstered in this holy church, "Haven't changed much, have you? Still traipsing along the country looking for bandits?"
He sighed, trying to make his hair go back into some sort of order. It wasn't working very well.
"Well, is there anything I can do for you? I am a bit busy, you may have noticed two people had died since you arrived," he gave them both a curious look, "Odd coincidence, don't you think? Not so much as a scraped knee for over a year, and the same night you two come back, two dead bodies."
Thomas knew it wasn't their fault, but those two men could have easily been these precious girls.
"What is it this time? Repentance, or information..." he saw something in their hands," ... like I had to ask."

BELLE

Belle sighed as Reece's fingers found her wetness. She moved her legs a bit to give him better access to her core. As he fingered her, she pumped her hand slowly up and down his manhood. How wonderful it felt in her hand. He was larger than most men, but knew how to use his 'weapon', never hurting her (or any of the girls as far as she knew); while other men with a smaller size, sometimes hurt their partners, because they didn't know how to make a woman ready.

Reece continued suckling on her breast, while he first inserted one then two and three fingers into her. Expertly he massaged the most sensitive area of her vagina, and with a moan, Belle spent into his hand.

Her legs felt like jelly, and she slid to the floor in front of him, her hands holding his hardness. She brought her lips to him and her tongue came out to lick him. Around and around his manhood her tongue danced, up and down the stem. Suddenly she plunged down on him, swallowing almost his whole length. Reece groaned out loud and wrapped his hand around her long tresses.

Joe

She hopped off of Thunder and sauntered up the church steps.
"You know Red, Father Thomas is going to give us a rash of shit.. And you are dragging me here to listen to his high standards again..." She shook her head and held up her hand at Red.
"Dont say it.. lets just get this over with.." She walked in as Red called out to Father Thomas. He came down the ladder looking like he was annoyed, as usual whenever she came around him. Red had a nice smile for the Father, but Joe irritated him with her sassy attitude... Maybe thats why she kept it up? She smiled and sat cock-eyed in a pew.
"Well Hello there Father Thomas... Miss us any?" She smiled a little devilish grin at him.
"We just came to show you a map, and perhaps get a clue where the Dalton's are going to hit next... Can you lend up a hand please? Since you are the authority around these parts on almost every single town in the county?"
She handed him the map, and let him look it over, then added..
"We dont need to repent Father Thomas. We haven't done anything wrong in... ooooooooh... about a week now... Dont you agree Red?" She turned to look at Red with her 'charming smile'. She knew Father Thomas would make his little 'noises' at that statement, but it amused her to tease the Father.
"Red has a hunch they will be hitting in Twin Springs soon.. Possibly that is a map but we never been there, so We aren't too sure if that is the same town or not.."

"Oh, the Dalton's, eh? Still pretending to be bounty hunters?"
The poor girls had gone astray. He thought it was partially his fault. He had came here after Father Clancy's death, and only had little time before both of them turned to their blasphemy. If he had only been here six months earlier, just six months. Perhaps he could have found them husbands, or maybe even...
"I'm sorry, this is not familiar to me. Although, I usually go to the town's themselves, and don't look at map's."
He handed it back, grabbing the box of candles up from the pew, "Well, if there's nothing else, the Lord and I have some work to do."
He turned away, but then spun back once more, "If..." Thomas said nonchalantly, "If I were any expert as a Bounty Hunter at all, I would probably check the sherrif's office. Most of them have maps of the entire county, not that a man of the cloth would care or anything."
He gave them a slight smile. If they were going to sin, they might as well have fun with it. They can remember the fond memories as they burn in hell.
Sinners, ahhh, without them he'd be out of a job.
"Goodbye girls," it was more of a statement than a friendly reception.

Joe

She arched her brow at his comment, "Pretending huh? Well Father Thomas.. If you weren't a man of the cloth, I'd show ya just how much we gals like to pretend.." She gave him a little glare. She wanted to draw her gun and shoot him. Only his little toe though. No need to burn in hell for killing him, but she was sure the lord would forgive a little toe. After all he did ask for it with his insulant mouth.
"Look, Red... You deal with this male, I will go ask a deputy a few questions. I don't have time for this man today.." She got up before his little farwell, and sauntered out of the church. He did bend her badly at times with his mouth. She sighed and shook her head, it was funny though. She smiled a little, then laughed outright as she walked down the steps to her horse. Mounting Thunder she rode down to the Jail house. She asked a deputy if he recognized the town on the map, and he couldn't give her much help either. But he did offer to find her some of the town's maps and get them to her a little later in the day. She thanked him and walked back outside. The Saloon looked dead, but she knew it was far from it. Perhaps she aught to ride out and see Mr Dupree. See if she can rattle some cages?
She smirked and hopped back onto Thunder.
"Git!"
She kicked him into gear and headed up the hillside/mountain side towards the Dupree spread.

Catherine:

She had spent the morning giving orders to the servants, and readying the buggy to take her into town. She was going to see Father Thomas for the annual church picnic coming in two weeks. She wanted everything ready for the auction and then she needed to arrange the barn raising in two days at the Fermstead homestead. She had already bullied her husband and his crew into helping, now she would go see a few other regulars in town for help too. She smiled and kissed her son good bye. Leaving him in the care of the nanny, she had Luke harness one of their gentler mares to take her to town.
"Alright Luke, lets get going. I want to be home before Vincent returns. You know how he doesn't like to be kept waiting for supper."
"Yes Ma'am."
She smiled as he helped her into the buggy, he walked around and climbed up. Clicking the reins on the horse, they trotted towards town.

Red

"Yes the Dalton's Father that is still our goal, it is the big bounty." I watched him as he studied the map for a moment before handing it back. "Well thanks for taken a look at it anyway." He turned from us and spun around quickly telling Joe and I to go to the sheriffs office and look at the county maps that they should have.

Joe was clearly irretated by Father Thomas, his words and his tone, she told me to deal with him and walked out of the church. I turned back to him "Why must you do that? You know one of these days she will not hold her temper.....heaven only knows what she will do." I stepped up to him and gave him a gentle kiss on the cheek "Thank you for your help Father, I can't speak for Joe but I appreciate your trying and maybe one day your wish will come true and Joe and I will settle down, but for now we are what we are......I must go find some place to collect my thoughts.....Goodbye Father." I stepped back from him and turned to go.

Once out side I grabbed Star's reins and began walking the two of us to the saloon to tell Reece and Belle if Joe came back to tell her I was going to the hotsprings for a while. I reached the saloon and could only find Sophie, Belle and Reece must have been busy with other things. "Sophie please tell Joe that I went to the hotsprings for a while to think. Thanks hun..." my words trailed off as my mind wandered through the thoughts of settling down, opening a restraunt and maybe having a family one day, at least it can't hurt to dream about it even though it may never happen.

I left the saloon and jumped on Star "let's go Star" I said as I gave him a little nudge. We were off and heading toward the springs the scenery here was magnificent, I would love to settle here....if it ever happened.
The ride to the springs seemed long today, but at least it was uneventful. Reaching the springs I hopped off my horse and dropped his reins to the ground by his front hooves. Settling down on the ground next to the water I pulled my boots off, rolled up the legs of my breeches and settled back against a rock placing my feet in the water. I closed my eyes, images of a beautiful home and children running through the fields washed through my mind, then suddenly the screams of my mother and peading frightened voice of my father shattered the beautiful images sending then scattering to the darkest corners of my mind.

Joe

She rode half way to the Dupree Ranch, and changed her mind. She needed quiet time to herself. Not a fight. She turned back around and rode into town. Sofia spied her and informed her of where Red was. Nodding she climbed off Thunder and put him in the stables. Spending an hour rubbing him down and feeding him, she then turned up to the church. She did need to appologize to Father Thomas for her earlier behavior. She didn't know why he rubbed her wrong at times. Maybe because he was right, and she shouldn't be a bounty hunter, but a happily married woman. Which was destroyed. Along with all her other hopes and dreams. Now all that she wanted was a home of her own in the middle of no where. Where life gave her no problems.
She entered the church, but did not see Father Thomas anywhere. She could hear him though. She sat back in the back pew, and took off her hat and guns. She sat with her head down, rubbing her temples. Wishing God would help her in some small way to ease the nightmares and the bad luck shes had for awhile now.

David

David walked slowly up to Vincent and tried to say something but found that his mind wouldn't work. He handed the letter over to him and wondered what Mark had written. He stood there and watched as Vincent opened up the letter and read it. He wondered what the letter said and if it was going to get him into any trouble.

Thomas shook off the dust from his clothes, grabbing a handful of candles. He placed them on the front table, so they could be lit for tonight.
The day before a wake, he liked to let the church stay open all night. That way, the mourners could have a place to stay and not feel alone.
He was surprised to see a man sitting in on the pew's, seeming to sulk.
"Excuse me, sir..." he looked up, and Thomas was surprised to see it was in fact Joe.
"Oh, I'm sorry. You looked like a guy from over here, "He said it like it was an insult and not an apology, "Well, at least you have enough grace to take off your guns before the Lord. There's hope for you yet."
The look of her face told him that she wanted more than a couple of rude remarks and another send off.
"Something on your mind?" he sat down next to her, sending the rest of the dust still clinging to his clothes to the floor.

Joe

She heard his voice and looked up, He had meant her. She looked like a guy? She flinched a little, that one stung deeply. She used to be beautiful, or so her husband would tell her. Men used to stop and hold the door for her where ever she passed. Giving her a sweet smile and always a respectful, "Ma'am". Now look at her? She sighed, and rubbed her temples a moment. Father Thomas actually came over and sat beside her. Amazing as that was, she turned to look at him. Wondering how many more snide comments he would make in her dirrection?
He asked if something was on her mind? Lots of things were, just no solutions to be had.
"Thank you Father, for your consideration..." Which she said in a sarcastic tone. Knowing him, he had no desire to even be near her.
"I dont think there is anyone who can help me with my problems..
Too many to sort out.. You know? Mind too full with so much, there isnt room for anything else." She fell silent, looking up at the cross in the stained glass mirror.
"I just wanted some peace of mind, and to say sorry for my earlier comments. Rough day, and a long day ahead of me again. I meant no disrespect." She did but regretted it as soon as she said the words. She didn't know what was wrong with her, she usually wasnt one to hurt people on purpose. She just seemed to snap at everyone lately. Including Red. She felt guilty for many things, including what she did with Reece the night before. She shouldn't be acting this way. She should be having children and baking pies. Not dodging bullets. But she needed the money to make her own way in life. It was the only solution she could see.
"Any advice for a weary mind and a haunted night?"

(Assuming the reward posters are nothing like the men themselves...)

Mark walked his horse next to the other one. His hand brushed the long mane, admiring it. Magnificent animal, and kept very well.

Who would be up here?

The spring finally came into vision. Ahhh, a woman, and someone new at that. He didn't recognize her face at all. Tumbleweed was a small enough town, he had thought he knew everyone, especially the women.

This flower seemed to escape his grasp. Well, he might as well introduce himself.

"Well, hello," he said, in the friendliest manner possible, "My name is Johnny. I'm a farmhand for a ranch not too far from here. Got most of the day off, so I decided to take a nice relaxing bath, looked like someone beat me to it though."

His smile was broad, not letting her miss a beat, " I didn't mean to disturb you, just seemed a bit odd to find a woman alone out here in the middle of nowhere. I've heard tales of the Dalton gang running along here, would hate it if one of them got their hands on someone as purty as you."

Mark bent down, letting his hand trace along the water's surface. Nice and warm, just how he liked it.

"So, you have a name?" he said, settling down and taking off his boots.

Red

The warm water felt heavenly to my tired feet, my boots were not kind to them at all rubbing them raw every which way. My mind continued in it's confusion, a rumbled mess. I could not wait to catch the Dalton gang and see which path my life would take, wether I would stay a bounty hunter or settle down. But who would have this rough, ragged woman?

The thoughts and confusion were interupted by a voice "Well, hello," I turned to see a young man standing there, black hair and his mysterious gray eyes peering from beneath the brim of his hat. Not many new people came to tumbleweed and I thought I new most people here, something tugged at the back of my mind telling me "you are not armed except for the shotgun in the saddle holster but.....that is a little ways off so.....be careful."

My mind was set at ease somewhat as he introduced himself and told me he was a farmhand, sometimes farmhands came and went with the seasons so it could be the reason I didn't know him. "Well Johnny it is good to make your acquaintance. A very fine day for a bath in the springs I would have to say." I tipped my hat to him and turned my attention back to the water watching the ripples work their way out each time I moved my feet. "I can take care of myself otherwise I would not be out here alone so don't fret any about it." I turned to look at him again my smile warm and freindly.

"My name.......my name is Rrrrrr.......umm it's Emily." It was no lie it was the name I had been given at birth but never went by it, my father called me Red because of my firey red hair and temper to match. I don't think I had ever even told Joe that......but I can never remember for sure. "Well I think I will mosey along and let you about your business." I took my handkerchief from my breeches pocket, pulled my feet from the water and began to dry them to put my boots back on.

REECE

It had been a long time, too long by far. Reece knew that just in the way that Belle reacted to his touch. She came so fast the first time, like a drowning man gulping down fresh cool water her body reacted to his touch and caresses. Reece smiled, he knew that on nights like this in the past Belle had been insatiable. He hoped tonight would be one of those nights.

Reece moaned out loud as Belle held his manhood. They knew each other so well. Without having to ask him what he wanted or how to move she brought him intense pleasure. As she dropped to her knees, and took him fully in her mouth Reece groaned again, louder this time.

He watched her suck him, alternating between long slow strokes and quick powerful ones drove hom to the edge in no time flat. His fingers twisted her long hair, as he pumped her mouth. His legs felt weak and he staggered from the sheer bliss. As much as he wanted to cum down her throat and have her swallow every last drop, this first time tonight he wanted to be inside her. Later he would ask her to suck him again.

He pulled Belle up and kissed her, then scooped her in his arms and carried her to the big brass bed. He laid her down under him and in a flash climbed on top of her. Without another word, he slid deep in her....

Thomas took her hand, putting his own over it. The poor thing, no matter how tough she pretendedto be, there was always that scared child under it, even he knew that.
"You know what I'm going to say, even I'm tired of saying it. Maybe the life on the road is too tough for you, no one ever expected a woman to do it. Hell, half of them can't do it either, they always drown out there sorrows in women and booze."
A coolness came over the church, something that couldn't be felt, butmore like recognized. It made him shiverunconsciously.
"What you need, is something to look forward too. I'm not talking about eventually settling down or hoping for your old life back, but something solid, something physical."
He undid a necklace, showing a ring on it, "This was given to me by my mother, when I left to study religion and God's word. She told me that I could always come back to her."
He put his arm around her, "Just find your one thing to bring you back, and the rest of life won't be so bad, that is a promise from me."

Joe

She let him hold her hand, she didnt even get huffy and pull away. Comfort did feel good right now. She thought over his words. If only life was that simple. But it wasnt, not for her.
She felt his arm slide over her shoulders and she turned to him. She gave him a bright smile.
"Thank you Father, for all your adive and tollerance. I will find something someday. As soon as the Dalton gang is in custody... I will have my freedom to persue happiness and a different life style. Until then, well.." She sighed heavily.
"I make do with what i have to do... Who knows maybe someday I will find a man who can tollerate me as well as my husband once did. Though it will be hard finding someone to replace him in my heart.."
She patted his hand and stood up. She picked up her hat and her gunbelt.
"I best get back to work or I will never have that freedom... Would you like to join me for lunch at the Inn Father? My treat?" She felt lonely as it was already, and Red was gone for awhile. Being alone didnt seem to appealing right now. She did not expect him to take her up on the offer. They could barely stand to be in the same room together, but she would offer anyways.

Mark stood up, his boots already off, he stared at her. Leaving already? Had he really frightened her? Or maybe she was a little shy about the matter of men?

"You don't have to leave. In fact, I'd like it if you stay. It's a little lonely up here, and I always do appreciate the company of a woman. Please stay, keep me company."

Mark took off his shirt, wading into the pool before him. The warm water surrounding his body, up to his waist. Fomr there, he eyed her warily.

"The water is warm, and always soothing. Don't tell me you rode on that horse for nearly an hour just to dip you feet in for a couple of minutes? I'm sure whatever you have planned can wait for just a half hour or so. Oh... you know what I heard?"

Mark let the water play around his fingers, "I heard that a back massage in the spring is better than any massage at any time, anywhere on earth. It's true, some of the old injuns talk of it's abilities. Wanna try it?"

There was already a sparkle in his eye, he was trying not to be too forward with her, but from her looks it was getting harder by the minute. Figuratively, and literally.

Luckily he was in the water.

"What do you say, I won't bite..."

Thomas got up, looking back at her, "No, I'm afraid not. Catherine Dupree said she was going to come by today, and we usually have lunch together. The women keeps trying to convince me to put a dance into the church socials. Think about it, people dancing against one another, bumping and grinding, and in the name of the Lord, really?"
He threw his hands up, emphasizing the chaos of the moment, "Anyway, if you truly want to meet and talk some more, why not come here at about five? I'll have a nice supper made, and I'm sure you could use a good home cooked meal. Maybe even bring Red if she'd like to come."
His mind was already on the different things that needed to be done for the day, and the preaching as well. He would need a service that would thoroughly woo the audience.
He turned back to her, seeing if she had decided. The poor thing, she badly needed to get off of the trail. She had that look, that sullen look he had seen so many times before. Within a year she would be dead.
If the bandits or rapists or some other no good man didn't kill her, she would take her own life. Out on the open road, that's just how things were. He wanted so much just to scoop her up and take life's problems away from her. He couldn't though. She had to help herself.
God was with her as well.
