The Coven Est. 1774

Thomas the Familiar

"No, mistress. I am only able to communicate through a mind link with you. I could touch their Familiars, if you wish..."

Then suddenly, that man was there again. He weent on to list a Familiar's duties as his own, and then claimed they were needed for a spell. Thomas would have scoffed, if he could.

Change the way people thought? Impossible. It was possible to play with their memories, but not to competely change people in that manner.

The wizard was out of his gourd. Completely and utterly mad. Thomas looked at the man. A Familiar had attached itself to him? Gods, he needed the help. And he could understand why Thea would leave her master alone.

"He's a loon, that one is. Oh, mistress, do not listen to him, I beg of you! People have died for such foolishness! No, mistress, send him away." He would not let his mistress be hurt. He couldn't.

Katy

She looked up at Raven as he materilaized out of thin air again. Sighing heavily she glanced at Mac, and then down at thomas. Her mind was a mess. Then she got the mental messages from Thomas. He's aloon huh? Impossible to change people thomas?

She looked up at Raven again.
"I dont know about this spell idea... You said its killed all those who have tried it, why would we want to try it? And for that matter that isnt all you told me.. You said things to me.. Personal things.. This book.. it found me you say? How?? Thomas found me.. this book was in the dirt! I need to time to figure this out Raven.. I dont mind your help but i dont think you will convince these friends of mine to try a spell they could very well die casting! I wont let them die for a spell..." She was stubborn when her temper flared up and she was aflame now. Die indeed.. i dont think so..

"Now about the other night.. after we cast that spell to help Sara you said you were looking for someone who the book revealed itself to.. why?"

She stroked thomas's fur gently, even though her temper boiled.. Hurt her friends NO! she got into this to help and heal not kill..

Thomas could you take a note, i will write, to each of them for me? I can ummm attach it some how to you? I dont know if the others have familiar's....

occ: sorry about your loss Oral

Thomas the Familiar

"Of course, mistress. I could delviver your messages, if you tell me where to find them."

He moved closer to her hand, enjoying the feel as she stroked him.He didn't like the man, and he certainly didn't want to leave her alone with him.

He had no idea what he was asking. It was insane. There were too many witch-burning fanatics in the world. Nothing could be done. And bring back magicial creatures already extinct?

Thomas was frightened for his mistress. The man was a loon. Crazy. Simply crazy. It would be best to sic the witch-burners on him before things got too out-of-hand...

Katy

She smiled down at Thomas.. he did care for her safety more than his own.
dusty lives in the forrest east of Mac's, Sara lives just past the church in the white house. and Adian lives opposit side of the church one half mile out of town on the old road. I will write a letter for you to give to all of them, i will be sure to write in there they must reattach the note to you... wait! i got an idea.. in the book is a summon spell..Let's try it?

She waited for Raven to say more, he appeared to be thinking deeply.

Thea

I wandered towards the edge of the clearing, slowing my pace from a smooth loping gait to a tentative trot. My master was near, I could smell his unique scent as well as sense him. Oh how I longed to be one with him again; scouting the wide reaching countryside had kept me apart from my ever constant place at his side for far too long.

He was not alone, though. Another Familiar was close at hand, and although I had not had much experience with these amateur animals who still retained many of the despicable qualities of beasts, I could readily sense the feelings and emotions that poured from them. Growing instinctively at this blatant show of distrust towards my master, I remained hidden in the shadows, waiting for him to either return to this meeting place and summon me, or for dusk to fade into dark so I could make my appointed rendevous.

Thomas the Familiar

He looked at his mistress. "Yes, try it, Katy."

He could feel it, nearby. Another. He looked at Raven. He didn't know if he could trust the man. Pushing the dangers of the impossible on his mistress. And yet, he was willing to do it himself.

The man was obsessed. It couldn't work, shouldn't work, wouldn't work.

And yet.....perhaps, if he set his goals lower, he could suceed. Thomas wondered. No, he wasn't dangerous, or a loon. He just had his goals set in the wrong direction.

He blinked, and padded out towards the feeling he had. Another Familiar, maybe? The female? He was full of wonder.

Katy

Now where was Thomas going?
Thomas.. where are you off to now? I will try the summons in a second..

She opened the book and read the words. Closing her eyes she said them three times in her mind. Summoning the others to Mac's. She hoped this worked.

"I'm sorry Mac.. I ... i need to think.. Raven i am sorry i know i keep walking off but ive got somewhere to go.. Mac when the girls get here come to the cave.. Ill be there."

Katy once again fled, she needed to think, to clear her head. She went to the cave.

Aidan

Aidan had spent most of the day doing small errands and chores, and conversing with Abby, her feret familiar. As they were walking towards the feild, mentally making small talk, she ran across a cat in the road. It was a Beautiful reddish cat, with a note attached to its leg. The cat stopped and Abby ran up to it. Aidan was afraid the cat would hurt her familiar until Abby said <i>"Do not worry mistress, tis only Katy's familiar, Thomas, he has a note form Katy. We should hurry to the cave."</i>
As Thomas seemed to nod at her, he ran off in the other direction. "Well Abby, it seems we should run eh?" As they got to the cave, they saw Raven and Katy deep in conversation...

Thea

I felt the Familiar’s curiosity distinctly, clearly decipherable with my keen concentration that had been honed to almost a sixth sense through years of interpreting complex thoughts and emotions.

As it drew closer, I contemplated changing forms and masking my power from it’s perceptive, yet still primitive, intellect. Deciding against it, I would see how such an encounter turned out, for I too was curious about other creatures likened to myself.

With a soft whine, I snorted at the strange sensation of anticipation that overcame me as the Familiar was almost upon the clearing. Pawing the fringes of my silky coat out of my eyes, I paced restlessly, wondering idly what Raven’s excuse would be this time for the scent of another female that I had detected on his skin.

Thomas the Familiar

OOC: ......No. You didn't. No cat for you. Sorry. Do not pass go, do not collect $200.

IC:

The cat continued walking until he came upon a clearing with the creature in it. He sat down on his hindquaters.

He blinked, and reached out his mind. "Good day. I am Thomas."

Katy

She stopped in her tracks and turned around..
"Thomas?" She waited a moment and looked around, now how could she just walk off and not realize he wasnt with her?
"God please grant me some brains i beg you..." She stopped and waited for Thomas to find her, she called to him with her mind. She was only a little ways from Mac's house. he could find her in an instant.

Thea

Tilting my head slightly to the side, I restrained myself from pouncing and toying with this cat who presented himself so boldly before me.

I was taken aback by his ability to so freely communicate with me...something usually only my Master did through thought.

"Greetings, Thomas, I am Thea of Raven."

Feeling my own message echoing with stregnth, I had the odd sensation that something more than being Familiars bound us together.

Thomas the Familiar

He felt his mistress's call. She wanted him. It made him uneasy not to be with her at her need. He looked in the direction she was in, then back to Thea.

"May we continue this another time? My mistress calls....I am sorry."

He got up, and ran towards Katy. Oh, only a short conversation, that's all he asked. He felt a connection to the powerful creature he'd seen. When he finally reached Katy, he looked up at her, and rubbed against her legs. "Yes, Mistress Katy?"

I’m sure we will meet again...

I watched as he darted off to find his mistress.

Slinking into the underbrush...I had never felt comfortable in the wide spaces...I lay on my side, wary of the pricker bushes. It seemed when I wasn’t loyally at my master’s side, I was always in the shadows...watching and waiting. Sighing I rested my muzzle between my front paws which I spread out languidly before me. No longer physically pacing, the quick movements of my mind weren’t betrayed by the calm dark pools of my eyes, as I mentally went over the tasks I had yet to accomplish for Raven.

Katy

She sensed something when Thomas came back to her.. her brows wrinkled in thought..
I am going to the cave Thomas to think.. You may do as you please.. You said not to go anywhere alone.. So I am telling you where i will be. The others are coming there soon... her voice trailed off a second, she wanted to think over these thoughts.
Go Thomas.. Come to me in a little while. I just want to sit in the silence..
she smiled at him and knelt down to rub his head.
"now go on.."

Abby the ferret

As they walked into the cave together Abby stopped for a second. She felt a presence that was dark. Aidan, take caution here. I feel something powerful but cannot tell if it is harm that may come or not.
They continued into the cave and Abby felt more at ease. Katy was there and was a protective soul herself. She could sense Aidan's ease around her. That was comforting yet could pose a problem in the future.

Thea

I brought mt head up uneasily as I sensed more of Raven's so-called 'friends' drawing closer. Although a social creature among the pack, I was not accustomed to dealing with this many humans, and tended to shy away from these odd creatures.

Master...where are you...?

Do they pose a threat?

Katy

She smiled warmly as Adian entered.. Followed by a furry little creature?
"Good Day Adian! nice to see you made it here" Katy smiled warmly at her and walked up to her. Katy quickly hugged her friend and stepped back.
"And whats this following you?"

She looked down at the little thing and smiled. It looked familiar to her, ahhhhhhh A ferret! Were they native to this area? Katy didnt know for sure. She had no Idea where Thomas went but she sure hoped he didnt pounce on her pet when he got here.
Turning she asked if Adian had brought something clean to wear into the circle?
"according to the book we need to be freshly bathed, and in a clean robe or nude... I wasnt sure about the nude thing.. Not yet anyways.. So i left it up to you."
Katy turned again and spotted Raven once more.
"Raven come and meet Adian.. " She knew he was perturbed with her. she kept running off on him when he was trying to explain things to her. Katy was just too head strong at times. She needed to set time aside privately to sit and listen to what he had to say without fear of what he might tell her.
It wasnt that she didnt like him or how he looked.. It was the fact she was scared of having no control over herself... And she could very well lose that control with him.

Thomas the Familiar

A little while? Thomas gave a purr, and went off. padding around with feline grace and curiousity, he went back to Thea.

If he had some free time, why not spend it with another of his kind? And so he was looking, sniffing at the air with his little nose. After a few moments, he found her in the underbrush. He sat on his hindquatres in front of her, several feet away so as not to bother her.

And he watched. He eyes sparkled with the curiousity and wonder of finding such a creature. His tail swayed to and fro across his back.

"Hello again."

Aidan

Aidan smiled at Katy and introduced her Familiar, Abby. She looked in her basket, and realized that though she had candles, and water and herbs, she had no clean robes. "Well" She said, smiling to Katy, "I guess i'll go nude, it sounds rather exciting" and she hoped katy would agree to it also. She wanted Katy to see her nubile young body, and she wanted to see katy and Mac and the others also. Seeing aman like Raven would be interesting also, though it wasn't as exciting as the thought of Katy. She could tell Abby sensed her excitement as the little creature became ciddling against her legs. She bent down and picked her up and held her, rubbing her stomach and whispering quiet words of endearment.

Katy

Katy was proud of herself.. She managed not to blush when she said "alright nude it is.. As long as the other girls agree with it. Besides its better to be as close to natural as possible.. Helps open the channels or whatever it is called for casting. Says here we should be as clean as possible, and as natural as possible. And Nude is the best way to be closer. I see you brought candles! terrific.. we're going to need alot of them.." She smiled as Adian played with her ferret.
"That is a charming Familiar, Adian. I hope Abby likes Thomas. He is my familiar.. he came to me yesterday. he is a C....A....T... though" She spelled it out, didnt want to upset her Familiar. Though she doubted the Familiar, Abby, knew what katy was saying. Smiling she asked Adian to sit with her on the floor of the cave and read some more helpful information in the book.

Thea

I growled territorially under my breath - more out of instinct than the sense the feline was trying to intimidate me. Prancing to my feet in a single lithe movement, I circled the cat as I spoke, appraising him as an art dealer would - with a knack for details and an apparently disinterested eye.

”So Thomas, tell me of yourself, your experiences...your mistress...and if you, too, feel the strong magnetism that flows benignly between us.”

Thomas the Familiar

He followed the wolf with his eyes when she was in view, and never looked around when she went behind him. He raised a paw, and began to clean himself.

"I was only awakened to my Familiarhood recently. Until now, I have been a normal cat. Upon reflection, many of the things I did seem pointless and silly. As for my mistress, she is nice, and seems very strong willed. And, being new to intelligence and emotions, and magic, I feel, but do not understand the attraction."

Thea

Sounds much the same as my own humble beginnings. As alpha female of my pack, I never had to question authority - I was, and still am, authority. Falling in with Raven was natural enough, although he may overexert himself at times in his bold approach of taking life by the throat.

Perching on her haunches so he would have to turn if he wished to meet her eyes, she flicked her silvery tail in emphasis to the most important points of her lecture-like statement.

It is not a task to be taken lightly, that of being the soulmate to a powerful one. Others will constantly be trying to steal it from you, or turn you against the ones you were put here to protect. Wily charm and cool-headed cunning in a tight spot, while although natural among most of our kind, need to be keen if you want to even have a chance of surviving.

She looked at him coldly, and tossed her head to the side in an almost human gesture.

Thomas the Familiar

He stopped cleaning himself, and lay down, turning himself tso that he faced her. She looked so big and powerful...much more suited to protect her master than he was to fight for his mistress.

He gave a small yawn. But physicial power was not all. "As a cat, I pride myself in my clear-headedness, and I try to keep myself calm and rational at all times. I would like to think myself smart and creative enough to face anything put against me. And I do not think I could ever turn against my mistress."

He watched her, his feline orbs unblinking as he took her in. She was the picture of authority. He was independent, and had never known of authority until now. He found it new, but not terrible. She was knowledgeable and wise. He gave a small purr, for his own contentment as he gazed upon Thea.
