The Coven Est. 1774

Aidan

Aidan woke up and found a man on her floor.
"WHO IN THE DEVILS NAME ARE YOU!?" she screamed, snatching the blankets to her.
"Shhh, I am your familiar, Able. PLease Mistress, do not shout so." As he talked, she felt stangely calmed... He explained in detail the role of a familiar as friend, protector, servant and sometimes lover. HE also explained that, altough most familiar took ona human form once the sun set, he took his during the daylight hours. She found this convenient as she had no urge to try him as a lover. She did feel very comfortable aroudn him though, and didn't even think twice when she began to get dressed.
Her father was still passed out, so she got Able some of his clothes, so he could accompany her into town. He would tell anyone who saw him that he was a distan relation of her dead mothers, and he had come to town to look for work, and he was staying with her and her father. As they got dressed and finalized their lies, Aidan realized witha a shock, that he was a beautiful man, masculine and strong, yet soft, almost feminine features. She was startled to feel any attraction to him at all, she she had never felt anything towards a man before.
They went off to town to look for some of the other girls, she was curious to know if anyone else gained a familiar in the night.

Midnight

The stars blanket the night, and when all is calm a single strand of night takes wing and glides from the heavens. Ebon wings and cool blue eyes flash in the moonlight as I rest upon her sill. She calls me and I am hers. I await upon the window gazing into her room.

I wake to the feeling of being watched, i look around my room but find no one, for some reason my eyes are drawn to the window. There i see a raven with blue eyes looking at me intensly. Chiding myself for a too active imagination, i roll over and try to go back to sleep.

Midnight

I tap on the pane. Was I not invited? I glide across the rooftop and slip to the other window. Slightly ajar... It has been left open for me. I fly through and perch upon her dresser. As much as I am here for her...It is hard to resist my inate nature as I am drawn to the shiny things on her drawers.

I couldn't sleep, I was restless, I went to the small balcony off the master bedroom. The air was refreshing and I closed my eyes and saw a form in my mind's eyes. A hawk, strong powerful and flying right at me. I opened my eyes to see the bird land in front of me and in blink of eye it shifted to human male....

OOC so I'm taking the bent that until he meets me he's never been human. Of course hawk is sort of night animal, so we'll work out when he's what later.

Hawk Familiar

*he blinked about the room...his sharply defined eyes settling upon the woman before him...a slight look of wonder on his face as he was attempting to deal with his brand new intelligences..and turning a curious head to her...he spoke his first word*
huh..?

Thomas the Familiar

He let out a soft purr, and rubbed against her legs. THen, she was off again. His muscles worked with the feline grace of hidden strength as he padded along after her.

"Of course, mistress Katy. As you wish."

alright Thomas.. Lets head to the cave.. I can feed you there and clean the place up.. And lets hope no Animals occupy it!

She walked along, making sure no one was watching them. once she reached her house, she walked behind it and up the trail heading to the meadow. She hadnt seen Raven since the night before, and wondered where he was lurking. She knew soon she would have to talk to him about the things he said to her. She just got scared and ran away. She didnt want to marry.. ever! She enjoyed her little bit of freedom.. once married she would have none.. She knew how it worked. She seen it many times with her friends who married and were held as prisoners. She wouldnt allowe that to happen to herself.

She reached the cave and peered inside. It was dark in there. She pulled out her flint and stone, Lighting the candle. Slowly she stepped in. Looking down at Thomas.. her hands full with the bags from the general store she sent hima message.
Would you do me a favore Thomas? Since you can see better than I can... Will you go in there for me and tell me if it is safe? She wasnt sure, but knew cat's could see better than human's and smell things better too..

Thomas the Familiar

"Yes, mistress Katy. A pleasure to serve you."

It was. He almost pranced down into the dark cave, searching with both nose and eyes. Old telltale signs were gone from age. Nothing had been this close to the cave enterance in years. If any animals had lived here, the villagers had chased them off or killed them long ago.

The cave became a dark tunnel, with no notice yet of life. Then, Thomas found it. A rat. The Familiar lept upon the rodent, and broke it's neck. Within moments, it was judged free of disease, and eaten.

Then, he continued. A host while later, stalagmites and stalagtites bared the cave so only hole near the roof of the cave was left. Perhaps a human, braced against the stone pilars could make it over, but no animal could.

"Mistress, it is safe. No animals live here." After the message was sent, with a mental purr, the Familiar padded back towards its mistress, content with life.

Mackenzie

I blinked a few times making sure the image before me was real. He was naked, in his early twenties and his words shocked me back to reality.

"Huh?"

I shivered and tried to find words as I looked about hoping no one had seen him arrive. I pull him into my bedroom quickly even as I feel a strange pull to him as if we were connected. In my curiousity I allow my fingers to run over his pale skin. His eyes are strange and I finally say, "Hello, Hawk," I close my eyes and an inscription on the book floats before my eyes. When a young witch uses her power she draws to her what she needs, often in the form of an animal familiar.

My skin tingled as I felt the connection between us, seeing the hawk within him. "What I need." My voice dropped, wondering if subconsciously I needed a man. My fingers had continued to wander along his skin sensing our connection grow as we both grow to understand our relationship.

Katy

Once Thomas told her the coast was clear, Katy walked in with her candles. Deeper she went til it opened up a little, this was perfect! It was even a little rounded for her, with an open area for their circle. Aria set the bag down and pulled out a fish for Thomas. She set it down in the bowl she bought and petted his head. Here is your breakfast.. She had to go get cream for him. Pulling out her pencil, she wrote on the edge of the brown bag her list of things she needed.
Tables (2)
Benches made
Shelves.. at least 4
Blankets
Pallet to sit on or chairs made
More candles at least 10
Broom made

She wrote all these things down and then thought of the cooking things they needed. A Pot too! She set her bag down in the corner, her storage jars were good for now.
Thomas.. Any ideas how i am going to get this cave set up needing all these things built or brought here?

Thomas the Familiar

He watched as she wrote with her quill on the sack and sat down on hgis back legs, tail swinging behind his back in a upside-down pendulum motion.

He padded over, and looked at the list. It was rather long. He sent out a small Familiar radar. He felt his mistress,....and other Familiars! There were others here, not like himself, but close. He smiled, and rubbed against his mistress's legs. Obviously she was the head witch in the area, and got a higher class of Familiar. He purred happily that he was the one honored with serving her. The head of the coven, not always the strongest, but always the best.

"Mistress Katy, there is other Familiars in the area. Once you have gathered the other witches, we Familiars could do the work you need. I am sure they will be pleased to help their mistresses." He continued to rub against her legs, purring loudly how happy he would be to follow her every command.

Katy

occ: hehe ok quil it is :p

oc:

Other familiars? oh ok.. Well it would mean staying up at night Thomas and working on those things.. Are you sure it wont be a problem?

She left the list on the floor next to the bag of things, and turned to gather up some loose rocks and throw them outside. She would have to wait on the dirt floor she didnt have a broom. Dusting off her hands, she could do something. She could go get the book and some extra blankets for the cave.
Come Thomas.. Lets go back to my house and get a few things and see if the other girls are awake yet..

there was so much to do, but it was keeping her busy and out of trouble.. Well her trouble. The rest of the town might freak out about this, but it was something that wasnt harmful to anyone.. and who knew.. Maybe she could help heal people...

She walked over and took the candle. Walking to the enterance, she blew it out and set it down by the opening for next time they came. She also left her flint and stone behind. Careful to dust away their foot prints on the hidden trail, just incase.. She walked home. She smiled ever so often when Thomas ould brush against her legs. She liked having him as a companion.. If she had to pick a Familiar she would have chosen Thomas. It was almost like he was the other half of her. It was very comforting.

Hawk

*His definitions became more perceptable inside...His hair was a Sharp and Pure inky black, Swept back and very short, his eyes seemed to glow in the semi-darkness..seeing what normal eyes could not see...as if reading her mind about a male he moved forward and kissed her lips softly...looking into the depths of her eyes he managed a very akward smile..Much like a child to the world his hands could not sit still...grazing over her flesh every so often..he was a bit brash, but seemed very very gentle..*

Mistress...M'lady...ah...

*he groped about for the word to use, and looked at her helplessly, as if he had no idea what he was supposed to do..*

Thomas the Familiar

With the feline grace of restrained strength, he padded along with. Every now and then he would brush against her legs with a purr, enjoying being near to her.

He was proud he could serve his mistress so. She enjoyed his company, and accepted his advice. Katy was the best mistress there could be, and the best witch ever.

Life was good.

Katy

She reached her home, and went inside. Making sure Thomas entered with her. She checked around and seen no one was home. Her Father in the fields, as always. And her mother must be at some function or duty she fullfilled every day. Heading to her room, Katy changed her mind and headed up to the attic. She needed to search for some things that were needed in the cave. She quietly opened the door and stepped inside. This place was dusty, and dark. She hadnt been up here in awhile to clean it, And her Mother lately had a hard time climbing the steep steps.
Katy looked in various trunks and pulled out items she needed. She found a few blankets, An old broom, and A few smaller items.
Thomas.. I will leave these in my room under my window for you to take to the cave tonight, that way you wont have to come up here.. It could wake someone..
Katy carried these things down the steps slowly, making sure she didnt slip.
Is there other things you will need tonight?
She said as she opened her bedroom door, and down to the floor. Pulling up the loose board, she got the book out.
We need to keep this safe.. So no one ever finds it.. Any ideas where to place it? In the cave.. perhaps here in my room?
She slowly opened the book up and skimmed down some of the spells. There were spells here for things she had no idea about. But there was also healing, seductions, silence, invisability spells, and much much more. Each page had a new and more interesting spell then the last. She looked down the list, and alot of them called for herbs. She had to remember to plant some of them they didnt have already. And some herbs she didnt recognize the names to, but it came with a description.. She could always ask Thomas. She giggled when she read a spell for beauty involving Catnip..
Well Thomas.. Shall we nap? I dont think the other girls are up and moving around yet.. Or we can go back to the cave?

Thomas the Familiar

He'd followed his mistress upstairs, and sniffed around the musty attic. He'd managed to find a fat mouse that didn't look like it'd ever seen a cat before. Shortly after his small snack, he'd followed her back to her room, where he gave her a last rub with his furry body around her legs, and had then hopped up on the bed.

He streched his entire body out, letting his claws extend before he lay down, tucking his body into a curl. He closed an eye, watching his mistress with the other.

"Mistress, there are many places I could hide the book. It and myself are not very large, I could easilly hide it in some nook or cranny no human could ever reach." He thought a moment. "And a few no animal could, either. And I am quite capable of taking care of myself, although I would miss your company at night, mistress Katy. And I know not what we should do, it is your choice, my mistress."

He gave a soft purr, and closed his open eye, laaying comfortably on her bed as he waited for her orders.

Mac

I choose not to speak as his fingers ran along my sides. My nightgown fell in a puddle as our lips meet both hungrily searching out. It was a jumbled mix in my head how we ended up in my bed. Most of our communication non verbal. I glanced down at him smiling as his fingers and lips explored my skin. I wondered how long the change would last as I peered into his dark eyes.

Katy

She sat weary on her bed, She hadnt slept much last night and her body still hurt a little.

we'll figure out something Thomas.. later I guess. Right now i am too weary to move... I Believe you are right.. You would hide it well. And only you and I would know where the book is located. Well the others would know too.

She yawned widely, and laid back onto the bed, Her hand reaching out to gently stroke up and down Thomas's back.
I'm just so tired...Orders? Im not sure yet, but i think we can get these things out of the attic by using a rope and lowering it down into the back yard.. I'll ask Machenzie to help me with it.. We'll try it in the day. As for building things, An hour a night I could be allowed to take a walk, and We could build the tables and shelves needed. Many thoughts in my mind right now All jumbled up..Let's cat nap She smiled a little with the joke, as her eyes drifted shut once again. She just needed a little nap..
Thomas.. Wake me before long if I dont wake up before you..please

With this said she fell into a nice deep sleep.

Fiera Parris

Fiera was restless.

The upset in the usual balance of power was unnerving. The haunting melody spun of magic that usually echoed throughout the village was now clashed with high pitched notes of the new comers who offset the tempo terribly.

She had long recognized her need for an ally, someone upon which she could control and trust, and lay any blame on that unduly fell upon her. Now it was recognized this conspirator, be they eager at first or staunchly unwilling, needed to be influential, someone upon whom she could flaunt her every whim in carrying out the necessary task of acquainting herself more deeply with the power and knowledge of these fledglings.

Kneeling before the roughly crafted alter, draped in a somber deep blue, she set up the two candles - one black, representing the binding of negative forces and one indigo, representing the neutralization of undesirable competition and a balance. Her eyes flashed a malevolent amber in the strangely hued light, contrasting sharply with the shadows that flickered off her dramatic features and the almost angelic quality of her face.

Taking a deep breath, drawing in both air and the overwhelming herbal scent of the wax, she recited in a commanding voice.

Candle of power, candle of might,
Create my desires here on this night,
Power, stream from this candle's fire,
Bring to me my heart's desire,
My words have strength, the victory's won,
So say I, this spell is done.

ooc: Go to my dude in the woods! *l*

*For Intreguess*
IC:

*his hands moving with a will not of his own...He followed his intuition and not the intelliences that were subtely turning on, his hands moving over her paleish skin...gently caressing every cleft and sensitive area...his eyes innocent and unknowning of what was happening..*

Fiera Parris

OOC: 'Dude in the Woods'...watch out...here I come <grin>

Fiera’s feet found the path almost out of instinct. But she knew it was something stronger than a mere underlying current forced into dormancy. She could barely remember extinguishing the candles and leaving her house, but magic worked in strange and subtle ways.

The bed of leaves, a constant carpet of brown, crackled under her feet foretelling of her approach. Entering the clearing, she recognized the small cabin being the dwelling of Schroder ReCante, the man who became a legend in the tales of school children. She had only laid eyes upon him once before, but could clearly recall his striking visage dominated by a hair darker than the charred wood of a ritual fire.

Drawing the hood of her heather gray cloak over her head, she paused to let the ripples of power leave her, as this was obviously her intended destination. The harsh cry of a predatory bird echoed her footsteps as she drew closer to the door, silently summoning him forth.

*He had always been a learned man. And in that learning he had gained a quiet, very quiet, subtle immunity to the many effects of spells and Charms. And though he did rise from the dusty tome on the table, it was entirely of his own volition. He strode with his long legs over across the dimly lit room and into the hall, walking down that he found himself in front of his grand oaken door, carved out of a whim one year. It had many supernatural things on it, from demons to angels to nymphs and to witches an wizards, and he rather thought it was fine art. He opened it slowly, letting it swing open on the bright iron hinges and looked out into the night, his soft Emeraldine eyes seemed to glow even in the semi darkness as he called out*

Who summons?

Fiera Parris

Fiera’s eyes flitted over the carvings on the door representing creatures from a large menagerie of myths. Although, despite what legends claimed, such symbols could not keep out the strongest demons and spirits nor hurt the lesser of such, magic wielders were intrinsically superstitious.

When the door was opened, the same striking gentleman she could vividly picture in her mind’s eyes stood peering into the night. Stepping out of the shadows and boldly into the light from the flames contained within, she looked him over. He radiated a form of power that couldn’t be distinguished as good or evil, but one that was drawn from nature and living harmonically in it’s surroundings. She felt resistance to the use of her magic, and realized perhaps he too was the reason for the drastic changes in the aura that bound these lands together.

Slipping past him before he could respond, or object, she made a barely noticeable gesture with her hand. A strong gust of wind slammed the door shut emphatically, causing the candle on his intricately carved desk to gutter pitifully and extinguish. Murmuring under her breath, she chanted softly, her eyes burning the color of the embers scattered over the hearth.

A twixt the sassafras leaves
Righteous burn by the bane
Achievers are but what they achieve
For all is nought, done in vain

Removing the hood of her cape, she let the dark strands of hair fall loosely over her shoulders, her silhouette haloed by the fire.

“Greetings Schroder ReCante. I am Fiera of the Parris lineage. I come bearing a proposition of the upmost importance, one that would not only redeem your reputation, but also one that no man who believed ever so slightly in divine punishment and reward would dare refuse.”

*He had watched her, and indeed, not even spoken a word as she strode past him, following her into his study, he closed that door softly, slowly turning to her, His hands crossed behind his back as his eyes gave her a once over...No more, and no less...smiling lightly at her, he strode to his desk and lit his candle once more, Though no match striking or clinking of flint and tinder could be heard, he turned to her, one hand laid on the edge of the grand desk, several large books piled up on one side, and one lay open with a red velvet bookmark within it, he closed the book, not yet speaking, obviously testing her patience with him... he laid the book on the pile, then pulling out his dark chair he sat in it and turned to her, hands bridged before his face ,regarding her with those mysterious emeraldine eyes*

Fiera. Ah yes...I believe I have heard of you from time to time...

*he snapped at the very air, as if a thought was escaping his grasp*

From where, I cannot say though.

*He shrugged softly to himself, then regarded her again*

I knew somthing would happen at this time of year, as it always does. The question is my lady, what is this matter of such importance that you would come to a scholar?
