Question for the group:
What or how do you all deal with rude bullies (and nitwits) on lit?

There seems to be many "new users" (more likely alt accounts) that are so so rude and confrontational. I suspect they are previously banned users.

Don't engage.

Don't reply, or stop replying.

Use the ignore feature.

If in PMs, yeah, I usually use the ignore, though it's not that helpful as reactions still get alerts, and we still know they are posting in the thread if they are the last poster.

Today's case was different.
Out of the blue, this bully just went on a rampage in a word game thread.

I sent a reply but this/his style of aggression is just not a nice feel.

Yeah, people can get crazy, but just like a fire, responses will only feed the fire.

A lot of times, all they want is the reaction.

I put them on ignore and stay away from their posts...
Because trying to set boundaries didn't work...

Online bullies generally should be ignored and placed on ignore. Sometimes though, it is too hard to resist trying to put them in their place. But, that usually leads to more hassles.

Never understood the bully mentality. Just be a decent human!

Agreed, and I've hit the ignore button.
I'm guessing this user will have an even ruder come back.

Sometimes though, it is too hard to resist trying to put them in their place.
