That’s actually not out of line for Boston. I work in the city, and my monthly parking pass costs me $481That's 500 a month for parking...!
Unfortunately very true!!That’s actually not out of line for Boston. I work in the city, and my monthly parking pass costs me $481

I’m all about getting to sleep as late as possible, so I bite the bullet for parking. Plus even though the commute FUCKING SUCKS, I can listen to audiobooks which makes the time pass faster.First day is done! Now I’m debating my options for going to the office tomorrow… do I pay $25 for parking or get up an hour earlier (meaning about 5am)?
Yeah, my commute would probably be double if I took the T or the commuter rail. There’s just no good way of getting to CharlestownI’m all about getting to sleep as late as possible, so I bite the bullet for parking. You’re damn right about that. I took the commuter rail for about 2 years. My commute was longer, I was crammed into fully packed train cars, and the trains broke down or had “signal problems “ constantly. I work in the Fenway area, so I would then have to jump on the green line out to Kenmore Square, then walk about a mile to the office. nope!Yeah, my commute would probably be double if I took the T or the commuter rail. wow that's crazy, especially when translated to my currency, that's like 2k per month. C-ra-zy!That’s actually not out of line for Boston. I work in the city, and my monthly parking pass costs me $481
It’s so awful - I grew up down the street from a commuter rail stop & it used to be good! My father took it for probably 30-40 years and rarely had a problem. You’re damn right about that. Were you coaching this kid to run for 7 days too?I have a no show for coaching.... Not usual for this kid. Texted Mom and still nothing![]()
Sorry, don’t mean to laugh, but yes! In urban areas, it’s definitely the norm. When there are events on, like a baseball game, it can be upwards of $50 for the night.wow that's crazy, especially when translated to my currency, that's like 2k per month. C-ra-zy!
That said, you just reminded me of the parking fee when I was in CA, back 2 decades ago, I recall being surprised by the parking fee - I think it was $5 per hour if not mistaken... Remember this was 20 years ago!
Is that the norm??
Yup. The garage i park in actually charges $60 for Red Sox games.Sorry, don’t mean to laugh, but yes! In urban areas, it’s definitely the norm. When there are events on, like a baseball game, it can be upwards of $50 for the night.

Btw, who's in the US?
Yes, I could check all your profiles but that means I'll come back to 10 pages later!![]()
My son was scheduled to play a baseball game at Georgia Tech (tournament ball) four years ago. When we arrived it was raining so we dropped him off and found a parking place for twenty minutes until they canceled the game. Two weeks later we received a $30 parking ticket in the mail.Sorry, don’t mean to laugh, but yes! In urban areas, it’s definitely the norm. When there are events on, like a baseball game, it can be upwards of $50 for the night.
Chicago is a heck of a lot bigger than Boston, so I can’t say I’m surprised. Unfortunately. That is the daily rate in Chicago. Special events you are looking at $75.
