Had a chance to see him a few years back and I was called into work so I missed out. He died not that long after. I’ll always regret not going. I’m not a big fan of crowds unless I’m the one on stage but he would have been worth it. Poor me….yeah, STFU Carly and drink your tea.

It was a missed opportunity for sure. I feel the same way about crowds that you do so very few concerts have I ever attended.

I’ll go to outdoor venues as I feel more comfortable there but I rarely go out of my way to hang with 25,000 sweaty people. 24,700 is my limit.

I saw both Simon and Garfunkel and David Bowie at outdoor venues in Germany in 1983 and 84 and those were my last concerts.

I got to sing with Jimmy Buffet many years ago at an outdoor thing up in Maine. It was a dare from my gf’s and he was very receptive to it. We sang Margaritaville and afterwards he whispered in my ear, “Don’t stop singing, you have a great voice”. I whispered back, “I’m just glad I didn’t fuck anything up”. At least I made JB laugh.
