There should be so much more cognizance of what a hot mess English is, linguistically. Contradictory rules, inconsistent spelling and pronunciation, exceptions to exceptions.

Well it is a giant, living ooze monster that's been absorbing vocabulary, slang and syntax from different languages over time. It's bound to happen as a lingua franca.

He probably takes you for granted sometimes but thats because he knows he can depend on you and that in itself is a sign of respect. Our way of showing appreciation is is more, "I will set the world on fire to protect you" than just saying thank you
