The Cozy Corner

Power's been out here all day. It was interesting being completly of the grid, but eventually I had to drive out to charge my phone and get a biscuit and a cup of coffee. The local Biscuitville was out of biscuits and the little coffee shop was out of coffee except for something called New Guinea Papua. It was barely potable. Power's back on now. I'm making a pot of Colombian and making my own biscuits.
We have several times each winter where we lose power for a day. This last winter, we lost power for almost 5 days. Thankfully, hubby installed a generator. If it wasn't for the buzz of our phones to tell us the generator kicked on, we wouldn't have known!

Glad things turned around for you. Having no power is difficult to say the least.

It really sucks, doesn't it?!

This last year was a huge eye opener for me. I was, and I can admit this, sort of a little upset at hubby for what he spent on the generator.

You have no idea how hard it was for me to apologize.:LOL:

2020 August derecho ripped through here and 6 days no power. Hot and humid. And creepy dark. I had no clue how much street lights and neighbors houses lit up a neighborhood. Twilight Zone creepy. Dang that was a hard one.

I've seen news reports of those storms and the after effects and can't believe the destruction, the loss, and just how quiet it is when things are so chaotic and still in the middle of the night.

This happened during the day. Getting home took me twice as long as so many trees blocking streets and power outages (no traffic lights). The electric pole and what ever bucket thing was down in my back yard. None of us had electricity. Until (thank you Texas electricians came to help) they were the ones who fixed up my neighborhood. I was lucky. No damage to my home. Only tons of trees branches and had to empty my fridge to the trash.

So glad you and yours were safe! I've never been in a storm like that. I can't even imagine it. Earthquakes? Hell, see that's different!

Lightening the tone -

Does anyone have a recipe for chicken parmesan? I've never made it, but he's been asking me for months now and every recipe I find online fails to give me the warm and fuzzy.
Watching this one closely. Hope you don’t mind sharing a possible new lead….

Also, I need to go back and copy your recipes you posted.

My sister made it the other day, but instead of using bread crumbs she used Ritz crackers and it was amazeballs!
