The Cozy Corner

Lovely!!!

I have a hard time keeping my paper from warping with dark colors.
A gentle pass with a hairdryer tends to help. Also warping could be caused by too much paint in one spot. Try blending and building lighter layers to darken. I like to keep copious amounts of paper towels handy to dab.

One of my nightscapes. Don't ask me how the water blending works. It was a pain and involved a lot of drying and smearing. The Moonlight reflections on the water was one of the most deceptively difficult watercolour tricks I had to execute. 😅 @ScarletDaisy
Absolutely beautiful! 😍 I love the effect you have on the water. It's so lovely ❤️

I'm going to work on being more patient as I paint, allow more drying time.

Appreciate the kind words. I think that's the best aspect of watercolours. It cultivates patience as you allow for the ink to naturally dry. It's rewarding to see how a shade lands when it's dry vs. when it's still wet. 😄

I highly recommend a heat gun! Seriously helps it not take so long
An artist I follow, Lacey (rebel unicorn crafts) uses one and her tutorials are great for learning different techniques

I’m supposed to be cultivating patience?!? 👀
Yeah. The ink drying too rapidly could contribute to warping if the heat level is too intense. I like to let it dry organically especially for darker patches like you said. It doesn't buckle as much. I use Arches watercolour paper BTW.
