The Crystal Kingdom

OOC: Sorry Grandmage you should have warned me I didn't know your intentions .. there is no need to get bent out of shape

Flint

ooc: Peace among the ranks, geez! I'll fix it here..

Ic: Flint smiled gently at her offer of a fight to the draw or his victory. Then shaking his head slightly no he answered her. "Indeed we could do such a thing, but then I would know you weren't fighting with your whole heart against me, so I would join you. That is against all the precepts of my order. Now, against Lawrence, I would know he was trying to kill me and we both would put forth our greatest efforts. For one such as he never puts forth a lesser effort than his greatest. Besides, I beat him last time and he's been itching for a rematch." he finished with a smile.

Then, bowing slightly he walked off to pray in the chapel before retiring himself to bed, to arise with the sun and prepare for battle....

"Something special," he smiled, looking at it in the full day, well near full day. It was spectacular, near perfection for a ring.
"I'm not quite sure actually, just came with the other treasures. It does look nice though, doesn't it? I'd ask you to have it, but then it wouldn't even fit around your waist."
He gave her a welcome smile, looking down at Ariana. She seemed to be alone, a single figure walking away from her was all he could see. The streets seemed to be clearing out as well.
"Tense," he said, getting down from his horse. Garret looked at Ariana curiously.
"So, are we getting a tavern for the night or do you propose we sleep under the stars again? I hear it will rain again. Since I'm fire, does rain affect me? Do I become weaker or something, cause you know, honestly I like the rain."

" I suggest we go outside and talk"Merton said looking outside the window."everything might seem clearer"
"I'm grounded , remember , me bring you home , me get grounded..."
"its I not me"
"whatever"
"we should go though the window"
"Good idea Merton" Vicotoria grinned looking out the window, "very good idea"

Ariana shrugged as Flint walked off then turned as Garret approached her. "Well well look who returned. I am surprised, also I am surprised by your attire. I hope you did not come by the money dishonestly. Yes we will be staying in a tavern tonight it's already set up. Just tell the guy at the desk your name" she sighed softly. "now if you'll excuse me I am going to go lay down. Aneke watch him dont let him get into trouble" With that she turned and walked in the direction of the tavern.

Aneke:

Aneke watched Ariana walk to the tavern then turned back to Garret. "Ok outworlder lets find something fun. Your world is quite boring and I order you to liven it up" she giggled "and remember no trouble!" she said wiggling her finger at him.

Garret looked at the faery quite surprisingly.
"Have fun and not get into trouble? That's the whole point of having fun though, that whole essense of trouble. Without trouble, having fun wouldn't be worth a hill of beans."
He mounted the horse again, heading back to the city center.
"Now let's see. How about some dinner first? I'm not exactly sure what you eat, but I bet we can find something nice."
He made his way to the best inn he could find, having a wonderful table.
"I'll have your finest meat cooked just enough to make the outside brown, and a large mug of ale."
He paused, eying the winged creature sitting next to him, "What would you like madam?"

Aneke:

She smiled at Garret then frowned. Why was she smiling at him? she sighed then turn to the waitress "you wouldn't happen to have scillian berries would you?" The waitress shook her head. "Another problem with you outworlders no sense of good food" she shook her head then turned back to the waitress. "Just a mixture of berries please" she nodded then turned to place the order. Looking at Garret she leaned back on her hands a smile playing on her lips.

Garret looked out at the rest of the inn. A crowd had gathered on one side, and suddenly music broke out. Chords of beautiful melodies playing throughout the inn, calming some, bringing others to their feet to begin dancing.
Hey, that wasn't such a bad idea, was it? He couldn't do everything with her, but he could do some things. Dancing was, after all, the way to a woman's heart.
She looked close enough to be a woman.
He rose in his seat, taking out his hand.
"Will you do me the honors, milady?"

Flint

He couldn't sleep, it just would not come upon him to let him rest well before the fight not many hours away. And the voices, the voices who told him many things upon the wind were shouting at him about something. He just couldn't understand what it was.... Then the visions came.

Moments later he burst through the door of his room and was sprinting down the hallway to Lawrence's room. Sliding up against the door he pounded on it till a very annoyed and alert Lawrence answred. "Friend, our time to adventure together has only just started. Evil is on the move again, and I think it might be Darklord Tolenar." he gasped to his friend when they had stepped into his room. "And the spirits tell me he's on his way here."

Lawerence

He was startled from his slumber, which had a lovely dream about years long past, when Flint came in, yelling. The old warrior was on his feet in seconds, a feirce look in his eyes. He shook his head, and the look was gone.

He pushed Flint out of the way. "Well, send someone to go find the others, I don't know where they are. I'll be in the great hall by the time you arrive. We should be nearly done by the time the see fit to grace us with their presence."

Domicus climbed onto the bed from the floor, yawned, and the wolf fell fast asleep.

Ariana leaned against the tree lonliness filling her every sense. She was away from all her friends, anyone she had ever known and thrown into some type of prophecy. It just wasn't fair...

Aneke:

Aneke giggled as Garret's offer. She didn't know how they would accomplish this feat. 'damn I wish I was bigger' she thought to herself then had to stop and think about that. She had never cared about being bigger. Why now? Shaking her head she stood up "I'm not sure how to accomplish this but lets give it a try"

Garret held his finger up in the air, nodding his head.
"Just give me one minute."
He placed a candle near a wall, then he put a huge piece of wood behind it, and moved it out slowly. When it was to his liking, he motioned for her to fly near the candle.
There, on the wall was her shadow, twenty times bigger than she was. It was about his size, maybe a bit bigger. Garret smiled, looking at it.
"There we go, some dancing, some romancing, some dining, some whining..."
He laughed, as he began to dance next to the shadow. The song changed to an upbeat light sassy number. He did look very peculiar, dancing next to a shadow, while everyone else had partners, but he didn't mind much. At least he was having a good time.
And he was away from the rest of the group. Honestly, they were a bunch of boring asses. He's seem more life in slugs. Aeneke, however, at least she was fun.
A little dominatrix in her, but who didn't like that in a woman?
Garret shook his head, he was actually thinking about her as if she were a woman. She wasn't even his species.
Letting the music get into him, he cleared his mind, and was carefree. At least, until the song was over.

Aneke:

Aneke laughed whole heartidly as she danced in front of Garret happy with his genius idea. His eyes shone happily and she felt a strange warmth fill her at the thought that she had caused that happiness. She had to stop a frown, she didn't understand all this. It was all happening way to fast. I need to stop she thought. She pushed the confusing thoughts aside and letting the music take her away.

The song ended on a high note. Everyone cheered, throwing coins up to the front, thanking them for their services. Garret threw some hefty bags, along with some coins. He bowed, letting the fairy lead the way back to their seats.
Two meals awaited them. A small bowl of berries and fruits, and a large platter of meat with a huge mug beside it. He sat down, digging into his food. He drank heartily and ate heartily. Looking up and smiling at her occasionally.
With dinner over, Garret suggested they go back. It was getting late, or early, whichever you looked at it. They should go back.
"People might get suspicious, you and me out all night without a chaperone."
He laughed, as the cool night air hit them. It was comforting as they made their way back to the old tavern. Garret walked his horse, just to make the trip last longer.
"I had a good time tonight. You are a great dancer, for a shadow," he smiled, "Was it as boring as you'd thought it would be?"
He stopped outside the door.

Aneke:

Aneke ate her food savoring each bite before they left. She laughed whenhe mentioned everyone becoming suspicious but it wasn't a full laugh. In a way something inside of her wanted there to be a reason for people to be suspicious. Ignoring those thoughts she rested on his shoulder. When he asked if it was boring she giggled softly "well we didn't vandalize any property so I guess it was ok. At least for a night in the outer kingdoms" a smile danced on her face as she gazed at him. Then she turned serious for a moment "Thanks for the fun time I enjoyed myself tonight" without think she fluttered over and kissed him on the cheek then hurried inside.

Lawerence

He had found his way down to the Great Hall of the monastery, which served as a dining hall, area for prayer, and any other occasion that might need such a large room. The aged warrior looked around then settled himself down.

The room had been cleared after the short dinner that everyone ate together, and several chairs were ranged around the walls. He took a seat on one of those, and several of the order's members gathered 'round, and started to talk at him.

That's always the impression he got. They were talking at him. Never any room for reply, just jabbering away like it was the mere act of being heard by him that mattered. He glanced around. They were all young, and new to the order.

So, he decided to go easy on them. After a sweep of his leg, a group of young men lay in a pile on the floor, and desperately tried to disengage themselves. They got up, looked sheepishly at him, and left quickly, leaving him to his own devices.

He started, and turned quickly when he heard the voice behind him. It was the head of the monastery, and a man Lawerence knew well. The old warrior grinned, and the two started talking.

Garret nodded, watching her go inside. He closed the door gently, going into his own room.
"Yeah," he said to himself, "I totally scored."
He sighed, pulling off his clothes. Once in bed, sleep never came. The only thing that was on his mind was that fairy. She was a nice friend, but what had happened? At first she didn't even like him, and now...
Now she was kissing him.
It had to be innocent though, didn't it?
How could she be attracted to him?
She should be going after someone of her kind. It wasn't even possible. He laughed, passing the idea up.
Why wasn't he answering the question though?
It was obvious she liked him. Why wasn't he even thinking about his feelings? No, no he wouldn't even try to think about his own feelings. She was practically an insect. He couldn't have a relationship with an insect.
He turned over, looking at the wall. Then why couldn't he get her out of his mind? Because, he did have feeling for her. She was a nice and fun girl. That's why. He was attracted to her, there, it's out ok.
Should he do anything with his feelings?
Absolutely not. He just couldn't be with her. He would like to, and maybe in another lifetime it could be. Not now though.
A knock came at the door. He opened it rather rudely.
"Yes."
"Master Lawrence wishes to assmeble everyone."
He looked at him like he had just asked for a purple elephant.
"I think you have the wrong room," he closed the door going to bed.
The young man put his foot in, blocking it.
"You are Sir Garret, are you not?"
He looked at the lad very angrily.
"How do you know that?"
"The rest of your group is awaiting you in the main banquet hall in the monastary. Please, come with your safest haste."
Grumbling, Garret pulled some clothes on, following the man out. He waited, seeing there was another young boy at Ariana's and Aeneke's door. He didn't stop to wait for them, better to meet them when it was.
If this wasn't important he was going to kick some ass.

OOC:: is it just me or does it seem every thread i am in i end up talking to myself... (hint to come get me )

IC: Victoria grinned as Merton finished his story of his life. "Your just to funny"
"But its all true."
"yes , and people fly?"
"they will when time passes." Victoria stopped walking and looked down at the cat...
"what are you talking about?"
"I'm a cat, I know what happens. "
"i don't believe you . "
"I know that a big monster is going to come threw these bushes in three seconds and you will fight it ..." A rattling came from the bushes. Victoria's smile faded.

Flint

Flint was busy, and very unhappy. It seemed everytime his life settled into a nice, quiet, non death filled routine, Lawrence appeared and they ended up almost dying together several times over the next few months of whatever hare-brained quest Lawrence was on at that time. Sighing, he finished latching the last few clasps of his armor together. Reaching into the closet he withdrew the huge battle mace and three headed flail. Placing the mace between his shoulders and securing the flail to his side he thought "By the gods, I'm to damn old to be doing this again." and opned the door. Striding down the hallway he went to the main hall.

Walking in he bowed to the Head Priest of the monastery and gesturing to Lawrence to keep his peace knelt in front of the older man. Bowing his head he asked the priest "Father, I must once again leave with our adopted brother. He is once again involved something much greater than we expect and he will need my aid. I ask for your blessing on this endeavor." In reply the priest softly laid a hand on his head and spoke five words "Publos, anderios terre un Vernt" (Fight with belief in Vernt). At this Flint rose, bowed his head to Lawrence and the Priest and strode to the great hearth in the hall and stared in the flames of the small fire there.

Lawerence

He stood up, and sighed. He looked at Flint, and couldn't help but grin. At least things would get a little better with him along. He knew Lawerence's pain. The man sighed, and got up, walking over to stand beside the older man.

"I hope you haven't forgotten. No matter how close the nemy may be, I'm not leaving until I see if we can still fight on equal grounds. All that teaching might have weakened your blows, made you slow."

He smiled. "Or we both might just be getting too old for these kinds of things."

Victoria stood in disbelief as a big red monster showed himself from the underbush. She tried to scream but the cat sat there staring at her. She couldn't start screaming in front of him, it would show she was weak. Instead she ran to the nearest tree and snapped a weak yet strong branch. She screamed as she pulled it off and ran after the monster. The monster lurched forward and swipped the branch away from her. She jumped in the air and did a flip over the monsters head. She saw two heads peak from under the monster. They looked so cute . "Don't hurt my mummy." one said in a weak voice. She noticed the blood leaking from one empty eye socket. Victoria now had a doubt about hurting this creature. She was just protecting her babys. Victoria looked down at the pinkish red creatures . They looked like a slimey version of a cat. Only with two legs instead of four. She dropped any thoughts of hurting this creature . she walked away from the creatures and toward Merton. She heard a laugh from behind her. thinking it was the two baby creatures playing she thought nothing of it .
"Vikkie watch out!"Merton cried as the monster lurched forward again and hit Victoria in the back of the neck.Leaving a red slime behind on her neck. It stung her badly. She screamed in pain as she elbowed the air behind her trying to reach the creature . she turned around and watched as the two pinkish babys became two more legs to their "mum"
"silly mortal.. don't believe everything you see and hear. " Its voice was soft yet hard. Her breath was a strong stench of vinager. Victoria groaned as her neck burned. She kicked at the monster and her leg started burning . It was stuck inside the monsters stomach. She screamed again and did a flip back causing her leg to move forward and lurch from the stomach of the creature to out of the monsters head. The monster screamed and fell to the ground dead. Victoria fell to the ground screaming as her leg burned.
"good fight Victoria . " Merton came up to the crying victoia and sat next to her Victoria felt the pain slowly release she then felt a draft on her neck. she felt her neck and relized that her her was cut short. the acid in the slime must have burned it off.it was so short. as short as her dads hair had been before he ran off. she found something sharp and cut all of her hair like that except a bundle in the front on both sides. "nice sence of style. "
"shut up" Victoria grumbled. "you could have helped me back there.."
"i'm a cat . what am i soppose to do? bite her to death?"
"you knew she was coming you could have warned me sooner so i could have run..."
"you got alot of strengh in you, Ariana will like that."
"stop changing the topic cat!"

Flint

Flint flashed a small tight smile to his friend at the words he spoke as they stood watching the fire. "I'm to old, yes. You? Forget it, when you reach my age your too old." Laughing he looked around and spoke again. "Where are the others? It seems to me that they have little or no manners at all."

Lawerence

He grinned. "Well, my firend, considering people rarely live as long as I, I hope to live to be old by your definition. And do excuse my friends, they are nobles, and theives. The two kinds of people who have much honor, but little respect for others. The way of the world, my old friend, the way of the world."

He smiled, and stood back. "But, it will give us a good start to our fight before they arrive."

Victoria got up and shook the dirt off her skirt. Damn skirt , fighting in them were not easy, she would have her mother fix her some pants .She walked , more like stumbled , back to her home , the cat , Merton , followed quietly

OOC: I"m baacck! lol sorry everyone school became hectic and I just didn't have time for the computer. I hope you all can forgive me and we can get this thread moving once more

IC: Ariana entered the hall. She saw Lawrence and Flint speaking to one another and Garret sitting at the table alone seemingly lost in thought. She had sensed the other sage only an hour or so ago and knew the next destination. As soon as everyone was done here they would move on to complete their destiny.

Aneke:

Aneke sat on Ariana's shoulders a frown pasted on her lips. Her mind was clouded with thoughts of Garret. And when she saw him her heart jumped so hard she was sure it flew out of her chest. She didn't understand these feelings "it's love " she heard Ariana's soft voice in her head. Her eyes widened and she shook her head "No, it's not! He's an outworlder I'm a faery. He is below me, he doesn't deserve me dammit! " she cried helplessly but deep down no matter how she denied it her feelings were growing stronger by each minutte. "Dammit!" she cursed out loud and blinked until she sat on a beam that went across the ceiling. "Damn the outworlders and their sneaky ways of stealing hearts! Damn them!"
