The Crystal Kingdom

OOC: Confusion I see ok I will list the sages and who they are played by.. which is not taken yet just take the role

Fire: Poohlive
Water: None
Earth: Lady Raisa
Air: none
Spirit: Lady_Siren

ok? darklord I am sorry Lady Raisa claimed that role at the beginning of the thread.. both the water sage and Air sage are free if you wish to take one of those roles oh and btw I am heading for the sage of water at the moment.

IC: Ariana rode swiftly no longer sensing the sage she became worried. She knew the sage was close by but who could it be. She sensed that the power had been transfered elswhere. Shaking her head she continued to search for the sage's spirit

Aneke:

Aneke laughed again "I already told you Ga- I mean outworlder that Ariana is not my master she is only a good friend who saved me when I was young. You cannot own a faery only befriend one" she fluttered next to Garret as they rode on. Just then she heard Ariana "You seem to like Garret. You haven't left his side since you found him" Aneke frowned trying to ignore the fact that Ariana was right "Your being silly. I only feel pity for him. He is an outworlder after all. Everyone should be so lucky as to get to talk to one of my beauty" she could hear Ariana's laughter up ahead "Oh shut up" she said laughing slightly.

Lawerence

He realized he was falling behind, and ghave up limping, jogging to catch back up to the group, pain evident on his face. He needed to get to his friend the healer, and fast. He couldn't keep going much longer. That hatchet must have cut something important if he was bleeding this badly...

He took a moment to look around, and realized that the party seemed to have fewer members. His fogged mind couldn't make it out very well though. Just a few more miles to his friend, and a good nights rest...

OOC: The sages of air and water are free? Really? Well, you know, I'd take one of them, but considering I'm about fifteen feet away at the moment, that might be unrealistic.

Sage of Air then...

Flint wandered among the trees listening to the wind whistle through them, and hearing the soothing words of his god. Sighing he slipped into the cool water of the stream after having stripped naked. All around him he heard the quiet murmurs of the students talking to the trees and winds. As he laid in the water he heard a new tone to the wind. It seemed.... worried. Sitting up Flint called one of the students over and spoke. "Hayin, I've got a feeling we will be seeing visitors tonight, get the surgery open." at the student's answer of yes, he lay back into the water and tried to clear his thoughts...

Garret watched her for a minute, looking out into the forest. She seemed to be thinking about something. He wondered what it was, the possibilities were nearly endless.
He coughed, bumping her on his shoulder a bit.
"Hey, I was just wondering, if it was ok for me to "befriend" you."
He nodded to the rest of the group, "I mean, compared to these people you are the most normal person here. At least you know my name..."
he paused before barely whispering, "...even if you don't use it."
Garret sat back up, seeing the upcoming city. Edilan was huge, the biggest city next to Crystalia. He put the blanket over his body, like a cloak.
"I don't want to alarm you or anything Ariana," he called out, "But I do have a rather substantial amount of money on my head. Just wanted to make sure you know, in case any men come and try to take me away or anything."
He looked at the Faery, with an innocent look on his face.
"What?" he asked.

Lawerence

"Don't worry, young man," he said when he spoke up about a reward on his head. "Just don't leave my sight. I know people. Like the King, and the head of the Edilan Army."

He coughed, and managed to catch up to Shan. The warhorse slowed, and the old warrior leaned against the horse as he limped along.

Flint

Flint was walking down the main corridor in a clean set of robes after having said evening prayers to his god. He stepped outside and felt the cool wind blow over his face and bare scalp. The wind sounded... content. "Hmm.." he thought "It must mean whatever is coming my way is almost hear and the wind is happy to know that I know that." sighing he shook his head and looked at the setting sun a blazing red ball to the west.

On a gut feeling he walked to the gates of the monastery where a couple of students stood guard with staves. Nodding to each his pleasure at seeming them prepared for the night he stepped out into the still very busy streets of Eidlan. Looking both ways he saw a small party wandering up the road, whom everyone seemed to be giving room too. Squiting slightly he tried to make out who it was...

Victoria got up off her bed and groomed her hair as the cat groomed his head. " so whats your name?" Victoria asked looking down at him. after she had calmed down.
"my name is Merton."
"hi merton" Victoria let her hand drop on his head and stroked him. he purred happily. "You can't sleep next to my head. It freaked me out . " Victoria put her brush down and went to her window . The cat followed . "why are you here?"
" I told you , you are something special." Merton looked up and gave a kitten grin that was more human then cat.
"tell me again..." Victoria looked out the window and sighed. She was much more mellow now that she had slept.
"let us wait for Ariana to tell you . "

Lawerence

When they finally made it to Edilan, things changed, surprisingly so. A crowd of what had been happy townsfolk and merchants stopped, and stared. They were shocked by what they saw. It wasn't the Sage Ariana that drew their attention. She had an air about her, but it wasn't enough to draw attention from people used to passing nobles. And it wasn't the thief, astride the large horse. A few people were startled by the faery, but their attention was soon pulled away again. And it wasn't the wolf Domicus that bothered them.

It was a man known as 'The Law'. Since the age of eighteen, one man had rode the length and breadth of the Kingdoms that were well-known, and visited a few that were less so. He'd fought every bandit, monster, or maniac that threatened the people. He was a man who was called a 'hero' nearly everywhere he went and waved it away as if the word had no meaning.

And he was limping into town, looking like one risen from the dead. People broke into hushed whispers, muttering under their breath. Lawerence drew himself tall, and started limping ahead of the group, towards the monastery where his friend could be found.

Halfway there, everthing went black. He was unconscious before he hit the ground...

Flint

Even as Flint stared he heard the whispers of the people who paused and stared at the man approaching... "The Law" was passed back and forth among friends and strangers alike with awe and reverance forone who fought for an ideal long thought dead. Upon hearing the words Flint grinned to think his friend would be visiting him again. It had been a long time since they last had adventured together or even visited one another. Just then watching the group he saw him stand up, walk proud then collapse.

With a shout Flint sprinted ahead of the onlookers and reached Lawrence's side even as Ariana did. Shoving her to the side with a low growl Flint scooped his fallen friend into his arms and ran for the monestary yelling at Hayin to ready the tools for immediate surgery. Even as he ran through the gates he yelled at Poam, a senior acolyte to bring Lawrence's friends in and show them all hospitality....

Lawerence

Domicus was dancing between Ariana and Flint. Mostly to stop her from ripping the man's throat out from anger. After a few moments, the wolf turned and ran after Lawerence, barking loudly at how slow things seemed to be moving.

Shan slowly wandered over to the monestary, turning his head and biting at the man on his back to show it was time to get off. The man dismounted for fear of losing a hand, and the horse followed on of the monks to be groomed.

OOC: GrandMage you can be the sage of water if you wish. How about Ariana doesn't sense it because of all your inner conflicts until later in the thread? it can be a twist of some sorts... what do you think?

IC: Ariana arrived at the town hearing every whisper as if it were yelled. Having her hood up as she did not many people payed her any heed it was Lawrence they were all centered upon. Shrugging she continued through the town when Lawrence suddenly fell unconcious. Jumping off her horse she hurried to his side only to be pushed away from him by a large man who made a sound that sounded suspiciously like a growl. Glaring daggers into his back she followed him as he took Lawrence.

Aneke:

Aneke giggled then stopped and froze for a moment. She never giggled. She always considered it to childish. Why was she giggling now. It was something about the outworlder that made her feel giddy and childish. Made her want to giggle. 'Must be how funny he looks' she thought silently. Her smile returned then "Well I suppose you can 'befriend' me as you put it but I'll warn you it's hard work" she teasingly tapped his shoulder. Just then Lawrence collapsed. "oh dear just another show of how weak outworlders are. I feel so bad for you people sometimes" she shook her head making tsk sounds then had to stop another giggle that threatened to erupt from her throat.

OOC: Alrighty then. If nothing else presents itself.

IC: He'd collapsed from blood lose. He had barely a pint left in him. Domicus, who was still close enough to hear the faery, growled, and jumped into the air, trying to bite the thing's head off.

The wolf growled loudly in the language of lupins. 'Come down here and say that, you little bug you! I'll eat you! I'll rip you into teeny tiny peices! I'll show you weak!'

Flint

Flint was worried. That didn't happen, not at all, not after nearly 60 years in service to Vernt. Lawrence was in bad shape, and that was being nice. As soon as he had lifted his friend, Flint knew it was a race against time. Running into the surgery he began barking out order's to his students. First, a student to hand him tools needed for stitching and creating an IV. Second, a group of students to sing the hymns and prayers of healing and blessing from Vert. Third, the three remaining Senior Acolytes were too place the IV needles in their own arms to provide blood for the paitent.

Cursing lightly under his breath about how stone headed his friend was for walking so far on such a bad wound Flint got to work. For the next five hours the only sounds heard through the surgery doors were orders and prayers. Finally late that night long after midnight prayers had been sung in the chapel, Flint emerged soaked in blood, a smile of success on his lips to meet the group.

Garret finally got off the horse. He decided it was better not to imburse himself too much with this group as it was. They were attracting too much attention. And an unconscious man didn't provide as much protection as he had promised earlier. It was better to just keep his distance.
Yeah, the true workings of a warrior. His last strength was used to swipe a faery away. He didn't care though, his thoughts weren't on the dying man, they were more on the reward.
"Excuse me," he said to Ariana, seeing her worried look, "I'd love to play the whole "I care" thing for a few hours, but I do have something more important to do."
He nodded towards the castle, "If it's not too much trouble I'll just get going now.."
He saw the look in her eyes, she didn't trust him.
"You know," he said, before she could start, "I can take the faery with me. She'll make sure I don't run away, or think of anything tricky."
He picked up his stuff from the ground, dusting it off.
"Besides, you have more important things to do, finding mages, keeping your warriors alive, you know how it is."
Before she could even answer he was already off, beginning to get lost in the sea of people.
"I'll bring you back something really nice," he called back.
He kept up a brisk pace, but it wasn't long for the faery to find him. He was happy for someone to talk to, but he had spent so much time alone. It was nice to be alone sometime.
"There you are, I missed you. I haven't seen you in over five minutes, I was getting worried."
He smiled gently at her, "Seriously, I'm glad you came. It makes me look more attractive with a hot girl floating around me..."

Lawerence

Lawerence was waking groggily from where he'd ben left. He looked around, and groaned. Then, he turned over, and went back to sleep. He was getting too old for this.

Domicus, from where he'd been left, was jumping around at Flint's legs like an excited cub. He needed to know how Lawerence was. This was getting crazy! He was barking out at the man, even though he knew from practice that Flint couldn't understand him. "How is he? How is he? Let me see him! Let me see him! Have you got something for him to eat when he wakes? You know how he is! Let me see him! Lawerence!"

Seeing that this was accomplishing nothing, the wolf ran over to Ariana, and started yapping at her. "Tell him to let me see Lawerence! Tell him! Oh, what if he's dying?!? What are you standing around for!?!"

Victoria sighed and stared at the cat. "is that all you ever say?'wait for Ariana' what if she never shows?"for all i know she isn't real!" Her voice very slowly got higher and higher as she spoke untill she was shouting her mother yelled for her to knock it off and she did

Flint

Flint, used to having animals around was neverthless surprised at Domicus's outburst after he stepped from the room. Lowering his hand he rubbed the wolf's head absentmindedly as he debated on what to do. Finally deciding he told a student to bring food for the patient to eat when he wakes. Rubbing Flint a few more times he looked at Ariana and asked. "And what brings you here to hunble Eidlan Lady?"

Ariana smiled at Flint. "You do sir. I'm here from Crystalia the kingdom in the sea in search of the four sages. I"m sure you have heard the legends being a healer as you are. You my kind man are a sage. You don't realize it but you are the sage of Air. I hope that you will believe me. Before I can tell you more you must promise to help me in my quest"

Aneke:

Aneke glared at the wolf. "You beast. How dare you breath on me with your foul stench. Keep away or I will be forced to put you to sleep like you beasts should be! hmph!" she turned her back and fluttured after Garret who had taken off. Landing on his shoulder she absently played with her hair. "There you are, I missed you. I haven't seen you in over five minutes, I was getting worried."
He smiled gently at her, "Seriously, I'm glad you came. It makes me look more attractive with a hot girl floating around me..." At the Aneke blushed profusely. What was wrong with her? she never blushed let alone in front of an outworlder. But this wasn't just any outworlder this was Garret... so? her mind cried. Shaking her head she put on a charming smile "You are right I am hot, as for you looking attractive I suppose you are acceptable" she giggled and shifted into a more comfortable position on his shoulder.

Lawerence

The old man got up again, looking around the surgery. After a few moments of righting himself, he left. A few moments later, he came across Flint and Ariana talking. He managed to catch the tail end of the conversation, and groaned from behind Flint.

"Him? You have as much ease getting him away from his precious life here as trying to explain why faeries have such big egos for something so small. To get him out you'll have to show he still has room for improvement by defeating him in a fight for his position."

He calmed Domicus, who was trying to knock him on his back and lick his face off. "And Flint here could kill you if you don't know what you're doing. You'd have to have studied his fighting in order to beat him. It would have been easier to just kidnap him."

Flint

Flint grinned slightly at Lawrence's words regarding his position and how his order handles their own affairs. "Well, I'm glad to see the invalid is up and about, and yes old friend, I do find the life here very rewarding after spending as many years as I have adventuring over this land, including saving your hide more than once." he said with a grin. Then his face tunred somber...

"So the sages are being called together, that can only mean one thing, Evil stirs again. Very well then, I must answer the call of my order and heart, I will aid you but my friend Lawrence is also correct. I cannot leave my charges here at the monastery unless you defeat me in combat. For our order is based upon humbleness, and the knowledge that those above us are greater than we are." he said after he thought for a few moments..

Garret couldn't help but put on a smile. Was she coming onto him? Maybe just some more sarcasm, but he hadn't heard any. Perhaps....
"Acceptable you say? Now, is that acceptable for a human or for a faery? Cause, I don't think I'd look too good with pink wings coming out of me."
He stopped before the huge castle in the center of town, showing the man the trophy of the orcs. He bowed, letting them go inside. The long halls made their way off to an infinite rooms and gardens.
The one straight ahead led to the king. Inside a grande throne room Garret bowed, nodding towards the man sitting in the far back of the room.
"What's this I hear a great hero has defeated the clans of the orcs and brought me their helmet?"
"It is I, Sire," he said, walking up to the man, "Hearing the chances of great reward I risked life and limb to bring this to you."
He didn't want to lie, but in this situation he couldn't exactly tell the truth. Kings were very strict when it came to hero's and rewards.
"Ahh, good indeed," he grabbed the helmet, examining it in his hand, "Yes, authentic. Very good. GUARDS!! Bring the royal chest out here for our guest."
A huge chest was brought out, landing near his feet. Garret opened it up looking at all the riches. He couldn't help but feel his heart swell. There, right in the middle was the ring, encased in glass. Quickly he took it out, putting it on his finger.
One wish, and it was his.
He closed the chest suddenly, noddeing towards everyone, "I hate to just deliver the thing and run, but my party is waiting for me. We have to go save the world or something and are kinda on a deadline."
"Oh, Well good sir, we must make this quick then."
He took out a sword, walking before him, "What is your name?"
"Garret, my lord."
"Of what?"
"Garret of Tengram."
"Then kneel Garret, and bow your head."
Garret did as he was told. The king touched his sword with one shoulder, and then the other.
"Now, you are knighted, arise and welcome the new world Sir Garret of Tengram."
He just looked at the ground, dumbfounded. Had that really happened? Was he now Sir Garret? Apparently he was. Standing up, Garret grabbed the chest and thanked the king. He walked out of the place as quickly as he could. Guards and others greeted him, very nobly.
Standing outside, he breathed deeply. Good thing that was over, now he could just go back to his own regular life. He turned, and saw the Faery.
"Oh right, the whole sage thing. I nearly forgot."
He used some money to buy a small fast horse, some new gear, new clothes, and anything else he found an interest in buying. He even got someone to design a nice new outfit for his faery friend. With tons of money still in his possesion he deicded to make his way back to the others. He might as well, seeing as it was way past dark now.
"What a day," he sighed, nearly to himself.
"Hey, listen, we don't need to mention that whole knighting thing to anybody. It was just a silly ritual thing, nothing of any importance."
He rode up to everyone, in new clothes, a mule trailing his own beautiful horse, and a new smile in his eye.

Lawerence

He turned to Ariana. "Don't listen to him and his 'you'. He's not telling you everything. Like the fact that you have to fight with specified weapons they give you. The fighting tends to become near lethal, and more than a few fatalities have occurred, and Flint here has a few tricks up his sleeve that would make you stare in surprise. In fact, I'm not at all surprised that not only is he a sage, but he also knows about them even though few legends of them even exist anymore."

He gave Flint a look, and then grinned, slapping the man on the back. "Plus, if you win, you have to join the monostary or you'll forfeit the whole thing. There's only one exeption, you have to be a Knight of all-well, most of the kingdoms. And I doubt if you fit that description."

He sighed, and glared at Flint, then turned back to the Sage of Spirit. "You couldn't wait for me could you? I'm barely up for five minutes, and suddenly I learn that you've backed us all in a corner. I would have told you, 'just kidnap the big oaf,' but you won't wait for me, will you? Well, I'll do it, just because I'm the only one that can. But it'll have to wait for morning, because I'm starved. Flint, I'll be in the kitchen, eating. See ya!"

He wandered off, followed by the old wolf.

Ariana listened to the full fighting idea and laughed when Lawrence headed off to eat. Looking to Flint she tilted her head to one side. "I know of your order, your elders retire in Crystalia often. I also know of loop holes I guess you could call them in your rules. It is true if I were to defeat you in battle it would be required of me to join the monestary but I also know that if we fight and I prove myself worthy and we call a draw it is not required but you can still leave your position. How about? I propose a battle to the point where you either defeat me or find me worthy enough and we call a draw?"

Aneke:

"In what terms? Well outworlder terms of course. You couldn't compare to a faery person we are incomparably" she said playfully. When she reached the castle she hid in his bag quiet throughout the entire procession. When it ended sheflew out of the bag and noticed something glint in the sun light. A ring... Getting a closer look she felt a strange sense flowing from it. Her faery senses were able to detect magic and this ring reeked of it. "Whats with the ring?" she asked once more settling on his shoulder beginning to like the smell of him even if it was an out worlder smell it wasn't to bad.

OOC: Okay then, I go through all this trouble so I can have another fight, and here you are, undermining my efforts. You know what, screw it.

IC: He ate quickly, and went to the room he stays in when here.
