The death of the Republican party

Do you realize the nation has socialized healthcare already? It's called medicare and medicaid. And CHIP. And thousands of public hospitals. And a lot of other things.

And we have socialized fire departments.

And police departments

And military

And schools

And universities

And postal system

And the TSA

And utilities

And libraries

And about 100 other things.

Seriously, turn off the Limbaugh for a minute and look at the big picture.

each one of these can be run better! universites are over priced and most professors live in a fantasy land.

TSA - yeah, i trust them with my safety (wait, i'm on a coffee break).

utilities, over priced due to zero competition

post office - we can terminate 1/3 of the work force and not see a decrease in service

.....the list goes on and on

Fool, I'm a moderate. I even voted for Mc-freaking-Cain.

You're arguing with Lit's two biggest right wing apologists, you will never win because they will just say the same shit over and over like they have for years.

It's better to just make fun of their blind loyalty.

ETA: vetteman was never in the Marines and is unemployed, miles live off of his wife's income.

I was a conservative before he was. That doesn't account for 20% of the American economy. Some government is necessary, but most Americans feel it is already too big. Obama fucked up when he thought he had a mandate to quadruple Bush's deficit.

And what did Bush do when he turned the Clinton SURPLUS into the biggest deficit in history for the planet?

And I like how you neglect to mention that Bush handed Obama the reigns during the worst recession in 80 years. Yeah it's Obama's fault. He should have had the economic woes of the times solved during his swearing in ceremony.

How are you so sure each of these could be run better? Look how crappy some of our corporations are run. Some are even putrid. I don't put blind faith in either the government or corporations.

I'm with you on the post office though.

Yep, that is the nuts part of it. Hopefully the next leader in 3 years does not make the same mistakes as bush and obama. time to forget about the past, but to learn from it and move forward

yep, there is crap on both sides but with non goverment enterprises if they don't earn money and please customers, well they go under (except for gm and the banks).....

the school system is a quagmire of over educated people running feverishly sideways with zero understanding of leadership.

What did Obama do? The debt increase in his year in office has been almost entirely driven by deeply reduced tax revenue, as per the crashing economy Bush handed to him.

Seriously, if Bush had an extra year on duty does anyone think it would be any different?

School systems are hit and miss depending on the district. I know of a number of very good ones, and ones that appear to be quite bad.
